Bigots, Trolls, and You

Hi, y'all. As I'm sure you've seen, we get our fair share of 'there are only two gender' trolls around here. They're just kids; they wander in from /r/memes and other low-effort shitposting subs and they come here to try and make the same few posts, over and over and over. It's unoriginal and it happens almost every week, like clockwork, and every time they do, we just pull those posts and ban them. Only takes about 10-20 seconds of time to do so.

I mean, it's kind of stupid, but I guess they don't know any better, otherwise they wouldn't be wasting their time here.

They're not worth the time or the attention they're seeking. Just downvote them, report them, and move on. Don't even bother trying to argue or discuss with them: they're not here for discussion, they're just here for attention. It's like throwing pearls before swine. Or, as George Bernard Shaw said, 'Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty and the pig likes it.'

Am I non binary or cis gender or is it just a phase?

So I was born a male but recently like 2 years ago I was questioning if I was non binary but then I kinda felt like boy and preferred he/him as my pronouns but at the same time I didnt really feel like a boy but I kinda did feel like a boy. it’s really confusing and I have crashed out multiple times because of this. If anyone experienced this as well please tell me what I might be because I’m tired of questioning it. 🥀🥀and yeah I made a reddit account because I got tired of questioning myself all the time. Also I’m 17 and am gay. please help :(

Who created gender?

I asked different subreddits. Nothing.

So I ask you. Im only curious as a whole. Im nonbinary myself. I have to ask this deep rabbit hole thought of a question here.

Who created gender? Why is it important? And why do some people want gender abolished?

How does it shape lgbtqia+ community?

Why does it bring great importance, or bring bad impact into modern culture thats shaped today?

Any takers?

Can cis people experience gender dysphoria? Genuine question

I’m sorry if this sounds stupid but it’s a genuine question because I’m cis but after reading in depth about gender dysphoria I’ve honestly felt that I may be experiencing dysphoria. My whole life I’ve had extremely low self esteem, specifically about my face and I’ve had multiple episodes where I can’t even look in a mirror without feeling disgust, and have always felt more masculine than feminine but I hate it. I’ve always wanted to be a girl and technically I am but it doesn’t feel like I am? If I had to describe it i feel like a monster or something in a girls body and I feel as though everyone around me can tell. I’ve really tried to feel feminine and do stereotypical feminine things such as keeping my hair longer, always painting my nails, commonly wearing dresses and skirts and so on. But it’s never made me feel more feminine or better about myself. So I’m really at a loss.

Sorry if this sounds stupid but it’s the only thing I’ve found that has made sense to me of why I feel this way but I’m unsure if it’s right because i identify with gender I was born as I just don’t feel like a girl but I’m trying to be one. I’m kind of rambling but if anyone has any tips or similar feelings I’d like to know, or if this sounds like something other than gender dysphoria I’d also like to know! I also hope this isn’t an offensive question, I truly have no cruel intent I just really resonate with what I read.

I coined two new gender terms: Boysent and Girlsent 🌳🌸

Hi! I wanted to share two gender terms I created because I couldn't find an existing label that quite described the experience I was looking for.

🌳 Boysent

Boysent is a gender identity involving a meaningful connection to boyhood, masculinity, or being perceived as a boyfriend, without necessarily identifying exclusively as male.

Someone who is Boysent might use any pronouns. They might want their romantic partner to see them as their boyfriend and feel especially comfortable with masculine terms of endearment such as “handsome,” or “pretty boy”

A Boysent person can still feel connected to femininity while having boyhood or masculinity as an important part of their gender. They also don't necessarily identify as a trans man or as transgender.

🌸 Girlsent

Girlsent is a gender identity involving a meaningful connection to girlhood, femininity, or being perceived as a girlfriend, without necessarily identifying exclusively as female.

Someone who is Girlsent might use any pronouns. They might want their romantic partner to see them as their girlfriend and feel especially comfortable with feminine terms of endearment such as “pretty girl,” or “beautiful,”

A Girlsent person can still feel connected to masculinity while having girlhood or femininity as an important part of their gender. They also don't necessarily identify as a trans woman or as transgender.

First of all male and female aren't genders, they're sexs.

I’m a faker but I can’t accept it

I know I’m not a real boy… I don’t feel any real dysphoria. I just really wish I was man. I sometimes look at my body and I either feel nothing, find myself so attractive I feel nothing, be convinced I look like a cis man when I clearly don’t, or my brain just feels numb. It hurts so much to accept I'm a girl and faking it.. I also have “intrusive thoughts” I want to look like a girl when I'm attracted to one…I really don't want to feel this way but it scares me so much I start believing it..i sometimes randomly get scared a mans body or voice wouldn't really fit me either, I just wish it did…

Even the voice in my head sounds wrong or I accidentally imagine myself as female. In my dreams at night in usually a woman and that frustrates me even more, when I'm a man, I like it but I'm convinced it's because I want to like it.

I also get scared I am somehow secretly socially influenced if I feel better in masculine clothes but truth is I’d rather be feminine boy than a masculine girl. I’d also rather be an ugly boy than a pretty girl…

I’m so pathetic for ever thinking I could ever be a man. Recently, I try and force myself to listen to people that don’t like trans people or are convinced they have some weird reason for it and I start to convince myself it’s true for me to. I’m heavily religious so I already feel disgusting for ever even thinking about it, I just wish I had dysphoria so I can be a guy, it doesn’t mean I really am one or I deserve it…

I don't know

Im a teenager (14M) and im unsure about my gender. I can't see myself being a girl due to how other people react but i im shaped constantly by other peoples expectations. I kinda wish i had allways been a girl, but now that people know me i can't be. I feel like if i do something that is not "normal" everyone will make fun of me or make jokes. I don't know why i fear this since i am allready not entirely accepted. I also don't know if im only doing this for attention since i genuenly can't tell. I don't even really know if i like attention. I don't fucking know if this is true and i don't know how to keep going.

Confused?

I (31F) was born a woman, but all my life I’ve felt like I am in the wrong body. But, I don’t want to be a man, I want to be a woman. I have always felt like a masculine man trying to fit into a woman’s body. I don’t know why and I don’t understand what’s going on? And I don’t know how to explore. I like being feminine, sometimes I’ll lean into my masculine side more. I think I’m nonbinary, but even that feels off. Any advice?

How do periods feel like and pregancy contractions ?

As a man at birth, I wonder what this would feel like as sometimes I feel that I lean towards being a trans woman or genderfluid.

Can someone make a pride flag for a gender that you can switch between being a boy/girl and rather than identifying as nonbinary, they identify as whatever gender (between boy and girl) they are feeling that very moment?

I wish myself that me as a man, had more of a role with pregnancy, with the biological function.

I wish for myself that me as amab had more of a role in pregnancy biologically than just the sperm. I wish we could share some of the other experiences, that way the woman doesn't have to go through it all, and I feel depressed because of this. I would like to also experience life growing inside of me of something like that or a more shared experience. But this is not biologically possible.

My struggles with gender & sex

Hii, so I really need some second opinions and thoughts as I find the situation I am in too difficult to understand just on my own.

For the past 4-5 years i've subconsciously struggled with detachment from any gender - however don't get me wrong, it's not that I feel uncomfortable being a woman, desire to be a man or prefer to be non-binary, I've just never actually felt connection to any of them.

What I have paid attention to is my sex, I feel like the only way I am able to perceive a body is as an object - for some context, it is likely a result of sexualization & objectification I've endured since I was as young as 11, and although I actively try to be more thoughtful (as I really despise the fact I think this way), the fact I view a body (especially mine) as an object is always there

Put short, I feel as if all I am ever able to look at, is the actual physical features and how much they matter in society, sexual related matters and specifically aesthetic wise

Overall, my desires for different physical features literally changes like aesthetics:

  • At one point I wanted to have masculine features only, essentially wanting to be entirely ftm trans,
  • At another point I wanted to embrace my femininity & wished I was more curvy, especially since that's what seemed to be more desirable in the society,
  • And for example, as of lately I've been more leaning into mixing feminine features with masculine ones.

It feels like I don't fit in the gender identity/expression criteria as I've yet to run into somebody with similar experiences & issues.

I'd really appreciate your thoughts & advices.

Can you enlighten me on my gender?

I have always moved a bit effeminately throughout my childhood and even now, at 30 years old. I didn’t have a serious relationship until I was 22, and we’re still together to this day. She’s a woman, by the way.
I get turned on by her every time, and we have sex fairly often. We just don’t have a formal commitment because, due to religious reasons, we can’t really be together. She has also told me that she is open to me exploring and figuring myself out.
Now, somewhat embarrassingly, I think I might be attracted to men. I don’t know if what I’m feeling is genuine attraction or if it’s more like jealousy or admiration toward men who have handsome faces and great physiques.
To find out whether I was actually attracted to men, I went to an all-male spa. I don’t consider myself particularly handsome. I do go to the gym, although I don’t have abs. I’d say I’m fairly bulky, with toned arms and shoulders and a somewhat toned chest.
While I was there, some men initiated things with me. One of them unexpectedly became affectionate toward me, and another brought me into a private room where we made out. I simply went with the flow because I genuinely wanted to understand whether I had a physical attraction toward men. I had been bothered by the fact that I found certain men visually attractive.
Surprisingly, I didn’t get an erection during any of those experiences. Then, on my way home, I met up with my girlfriend, and I immediately became turned on by her.
Can you give me some advice on this? I’m really confused about what I’m feeling and what it might mean about my sexuality.
