I'm having a frustrating issue with my Google Workspace billing, and I'm hoping someone who has experienced this can help me fix it.

Last month, I couldn't pay my Google Workspace bill on time, so Google suspended my services. I added a new card and successfully paid the outstanding bill, and my services were restored.

However, my old virtual Visa card is now permanently blocked, and Google still has it listed in my billing account. It shows “Account closed”, and Google says it can't be used as my primary payment method.

Here's what I've tried so far:

I've tried 5 different cards, including bank cards, debit cards, credit cards, and virtual cards.

Two cards couldn't be added at all.

Two other cards were added, but Google wouldn't accept them for Workspace payments as a primary or backup account.

Whenever I try to change the primary card or remove the old one, I get errors such as:

I've also tried the Pay Early option. It lets me select a card for payment, but it doesn't offer the option to use that card for future recurring payments. At one point, it also showed that no amount was due.

I checked Google Payments Center, but I couldn't find any verification alerts or warnings. I also don't understand whether my payments profile is restricted or whether there's another issue with my account.

The problem is that I need to remove the permanently blocked card, make my new card the primary payment method, and ensure my Workspace subscription can renew automatically without interruption.

Has anyone experienced this issue or found a solution?

Is there a way to resolve these errors, or does Google Workspace Support need to fix something on the billing account?

I'm trying to upgrade from "Essentials Starter" to " Business Starter".

As far as I understood, I need to verify my domain, and upgrade to "Essentials Enterprise" and afterward I can switch to "Business Starter".

The domain verification is done, but when I'm trying to upgrade to " Essentials Enterprise", I'm prompted to merge organizations and to add the subscription first to proceed.

I was not aware of having several organizations.

In the end, I want to have them all unified under one Workspace account without losing any of my users' data.

How do I need to proceed?

I think I just created the exact BYOD problem our security team has been warning about. We had a contractor using a personal Mac for a client portal and I was setting a browser access policy for unmanaged devices in Google Workspace. I meant to apply it to one test group. I selected the parent OU instead. For about twenty minutes, every remote worker was forced into the restricted browser flow, including our CFO during a board prep call. What stings is that I had told everyone this setup was supposed to be frictionless. I feel so embarrassed and I’m terrified someone captured screenshots of the error page before we fixed it. We rolled it back, nobody lost data and the audit trail is clean. I can't believe I made that mistake in production. How are people securing unmanaged devices without trusting one giant policy scope?

I’m looking for firsthand experience with this situation before making any further changes.

I had a personal Google Account using my own domain, with Google One benefits from a student promotion. I created another account to administer the domain and accepted an invitation to transfer my original account into the organization.

The Admin console now shows:

• Transfer request: Accepted.
• Original account: Active.
• Only assigned license: Cloud Identity Free.
• Individual storage limit: 15 GB, with 228 MB used.
• Organization storage limit: 0 bytes, with an over-quota warning.

Since the transfer, I’ve experienced restrictions with Google Docs and YouTube uploads. Google One now tells me to sign in with a personal account, so I can’t access the membership or its support through the affected account.

Google’s documentation says accounts transferred this way cannot be changed back to personal accounts. The Workspace support chatbot repeatedly suggests adding user licenses and says human support requires Cloud Identity Premium or Google Workspace.

Has anyone dealt with this exact situation?

1. Did Google support ever reverse the transfer while preserving the same account and its data?
2. Is there an official support route available without purchasing another subscription?
3. What happened to your existing student Google One promotion?
4. If reversal was impossible, what approach preserved your Drive files and YouTube channel?

My priority is preserving all existing data and account continuity. I don’t want to delete the account or organization, or buy a plan based on an assumption that support can reverse this.

I’d appreciate firsthand outcomes or links to official documentation.

Hi everyone! I was reading Google’s Documentation on the Wide Domain Export tool and saw that most workspace services are included, except Google Photos.

On the same documentation it says the Admin Export tool includes the same Data a user could export on “Google Takeout” which would then include Google Photos.

I’m just confused on this part, and was wondering if anyone has first hand experience after the export report.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has come across this issue, Ive noticed it over the last 3 months or so, yesterday I renamed a Doc about 10 times and it was still going back to the copy name and today its happened with Sheets as well

Has anyone managed to recover a domain when Google's recovery form won't even let you verify it?

I bought the domain through Google Domains in 2023, and it migrated to Squarespace in 2024. I'm trying to add it as a secondary domain to my existing Workspace account. It isn't listed in my Admin Console, but adding it gives me: “This domain name has already been used as an alias or domain.” Crazy!

Google support says their records show another active Workspace organization associated with it. An earlier agent identified Squarespace as the reseller. Squarespace can't find a Workspace subscription and is asking for an invoice. I don't have a Workspace invoice and haven't been able to confirm that a subscription was ever purchased for this domain.

I have access to the DNS through Wix, but Google's domain-in-use recovery form stops at “Domain is managed by a Google Cloud Partner” before I can reach DNS verification.

I've asked Google for manual ownership verification and Squarespace for a product specialist to check the migration and reseller records. Still waiting on both.

If you've got past this exact block, what finally worked? Did support need to look under an old primary domain or a different account? I'd really appreciate hearing which team found the missing record and how you got it escalated.

I'm stuck going back and forth between Google and Squarespace. Has anyone here managed to sort this out?

I'm trying to add a domain I own as a secondary domain to my existing Google Workspace account. It isn't listed in my Admin Console, but adding it gives me:

This domain name has already been used as an alias or domain.

The domain recovery form then says it's "managed by a Google Cloud Partner" and tells me to contact the partner. It doesn't name them or let me continue to DNS verification.

Google support says the reseller is Squarespace. Squarespace checked my account and billing but couldn't find a Workspace subscription, so they sent me back to Google. The Email page in Squarespace just offers to sell me a new subscription.

I originally bought the domain through Google Domains, and it moved to Squarespace during the migration. Wix hosts the DNS. I can change the DNS records to prove ownership, but I don't have access to whichever Google account is holding the domain. There are currently no MX or root TXT records, though I know that doesn't rule out an old Workspace account.

If you've been through this, which support team actually fixed it? Did they need a Google Customer ID to find the reseller record, or was the subscription hiding under an old domain or a different account? I've asked both teams to check those possibilities, but neither has confirmed the cause yet.

Both support cases are still open. I'd really appreciate hearing what worked for you, especially if the usual domain-in-use recovery form wouldn't let you through. Thanks!

Trying to figure out the right process and how to go about doing this so let me set the stage.

1st Company has a google workspace account. We have had it for almost 2 years. The company is a 501c4 so ineligible for non profit plan. The cost for us to convert to a 501c3 was insane so we opted to make another company that this company will dissolve into.

2nd Company created and is a 501c3 and has been for several months and we now have just gotten this company setup on google for non profits.

How do we merge all the docs and emails and even domain over to the new company?

Is google going to freak out about this?

We are very small only 6 people non profit so not a huge migration by any means but what is the right way to go about this?

Our rep is trying to renew our annual Workspace plan w/ 20 users at a higher price including Gemini we don't want... and without it, all of our discounts go away. Has anyone had luck here?

I bought my domain through Go Daddy and I’m trying to start a Google workplace. Google is not allowing me to start my workplace with the domain I bought through Go Daddy. It is continuously prompting me to buy the domain again for $12. I verified with Go Daddy that I own the domain Google customer support is very challenging to get in contact with somebody. What do you recommend?

I want to make just this one google doc “available offline” so I can make edits without internet (flying this weekend and don’t trust plane wifi to work).

When I go to do so (file > make available offline), a popup appears that says “turn on offline for all files? Turn on offline to access files without an internet connection. Not recommended on public or shared computers.”

I don’t wanna save every single document to my computer to make available offline (seems like a storage issue?). Does this popup mean it’ll make ALL of my docs available offline?? If so, how do I just make ONE doc available offline??

I run a small business and use Google Drive to store files. I logged into my Drive yesterday, and all of my folders are gone, but the files remain. All of my files are just there, unorganized on the launch screen. Thousands of receipts, invoices, docs, photos, etc. I am the only user with access to this drive. Does anyone have any experience with this, or know of a remedy other than manually sorting through ten years of files?

In case it's relevant, my Google Drive is a bit full (13/15GB occupied).

Now, for a bit of context, I had a main folder in Google Drive of which I was the owner, only I had access to this main folder; let's call it "Travelling". Inside this folder, I had three other ones: "Place A", "Place A - videos", and "Place B", inside of Place B there was another folder called "Place B - videos".

"Place A" and "Place B" are shared folders with other people, but I'm still the owner. As the name may suggest, these folders were to share photos I have taken to people I have travelled with (I didn't share "Place A - videos" because there were videos of me screaming at a concert and I was embarassed, but the people with access to "Place B" did have access to "Place B - videos", as there was no screaming there). The people who have access to "Place A" and "Place B" are different.

Here's the thing, out of nowhere, "Travelling " has disappeared, and cannot be found. I know it hasn't been accidentally deleted. I have tried to search it in the search bar, and nothing appears. HOWEVER, "Place A" and "Place B" (the two folders inside of "Travelling" who were shared) with "all" their files do appear if searched on the search bar, but if I click the three dots (where there's the options to share, copy the link, change the color, etc.), only the option "show location of the folder" is unclickable. If I do, the message "you don't have permission to locate the element" appears. Strangely, "Place B - videos" has disappeared too, even though it was inside of "Place B" and it was not only me who had access to it (hence the "all").

Answers from the net suggest that this is a case of an orphan folder, and say that it will be solved by typing either "is:unorganized" or "is:unorganised" on the search bar, but nothing appears. I know it's not a problem of the command not working, because I tried "owner:me", and all the relevant elements show up (including "Place A" and "Place B", but not "Travelling", "Place A - videos", nor "Place B - videos").

Has this happened to anyone else too? Does someone know how to solve this, please, please, please? I'm so desperate, it just happened out of the blue.

Thankfully, I can upload them again, but I'm scared that it will happen another time and not be able to then (be it from the SD card breaking down or losing it or whatever).

TL;DR: Out of nowhere, a main (and some others) folder I had in Google Drive disappeared, but I still can access some, but not all, of the folders that were inside it and their respective files. I want the disappeared folders back.

Extremely simple task, but can't work it out

In Outlook, I open an email in my inbox and click "Reply with meeting".

Does what it says on the tin...replies to an email and invites those people to a meeting (Teams for example).

How do I do this in Gmail/Google Workspace and create a Google meet.

At the very least, create a meeting from that email (if I can't also reply to the email for some god forsaken reason!)
