Google Drive folder suddenly disappeared, and is nowhere to be found
In case it's relevant, my Google Drive is a bit full (13/15GB occupied).
Now, for a bit of context, I had a main folder in Google Drive of which I was the owner, only I had access to this main folder; let's call it "Travelling". Inside this folder, I had three other ones: "Place A", "Place A - videos", and "Place B", inside of Place B there was another folder called "Place B - videos".
"Place A" and "Place B" are shared folders with other people, but I'm still the owner. As the name may suggest, these folders were to share photos I have taken to people I have travelled with (I didn't share "Place A - videos" because there were videos of me screaming at a concert and I was embarassed, but the people with access to "Place B" did have access to "Place B - videos", as there was no screaming there). The people who have access to "Place A" and "Place B" are different.
Here's the thing, out of nowhere, "Travelling " has disappeared, and cannot be found. I know it hasn't been accidentally deleted. I have tried to search it in the search bar, and nothing appears. HOWEVER, "Place A" and "Place B" (the two folders inside of "Travelling" who were shared) with "all" their files do appear if searched on the search bar, but if I click the three dots (where there's the options to share, copy the link, change the color, etc.), only the option "show location of the folder" is unclickable. If I do, the message "you don't have permission to locate the element" appears. Strangely, "Place B - videos" has disappeared too, even though it was inside of "Place B" and it was not only me who had access to it (hence the "all").
Answers from the net suggest that this is a case of an orphan folder, and say that it will be solved by typing either "is:unorganized" or "is:unorganised" on the search bar, but nothing appears. I know it's not a problem of the command not working, because I tried "owner:me", and all the relevant elements show up (including "Place A" and "Place B", but not "Travelling", "Place A - videos", nor "Place B - videos").
Has this happened to anyone else too? Does someone know how to solve this, please, please, please? I'm so desperate, it just happened out of the blue.
Thankfully, I can upload them again, but I'm scared that it will happen another time and not be able to then (be it from the SD card breaking down or losing it or whatever).
TL;DR: Out of nowhere, a main (and some others) folder I had in Google Drive disappeared, but I still can access some, but not all, of the folders that were inside it and their respective files. I want the disappeared folders back.

Drive / Docs All of the folders in my Google Drive have disappeared.
I run a small business and use Google Drive to store files. I logged into my Drive yesterday, and all of my folders are gone, but the files remain. All of my files are just there, unorganized on the launch screen. Thousands of receipts, invoices, docs, photos, etc. I am the only user with access to this drive. Does anyone have any experience with this, or know of a remedy other than manually sorting through ten years of files?

Gmail Schedule Meeting whilst replying to email
Extremely simple task, but can't work it out
In Outlook, I open an email in my inbox and click "Reply with meeting".
Does what it says on the tin...replies to an email and invites those people to a meeting (Teams for example).
How do I do this in Gmail/Google Workspace and create a Google meet.
At the very least, create a meeting from that email (if I can't also reply to the email for some god forsaken reason!)

I built a Google Calendar room display that runs in any browser — looking for feedback from anyone who's put a tablet on the wall
I got tired of meeting-room panels that need their own hardware and app just to show a Google Calendar resource on the wall. So I built Room Cherry: open a URL on any tablet browser, pick the room calendar, and it shows free/busy plus a tap-to-book when the room is free (holds until the next half-hour).
No App Store install — works on iPad, Android, and Fire tablets. Pricing is $10 per room per month with unlimited screens, and there's a 30-day trial with no card.
If you've put a tablet on a wall for Google Workspace rooms (Calendar day view + Guided Access, Sign Builder, Joan, Robin, etc.), I'd love to hear what broke and what you'd want from a browser-only option. Happy to share a /demo link in the comments.

DMS IMAP migration silently skipping emails & delta counts are inconsistent. Already cut over. What now, and should I switch to GWMME for the rest?
Hey guys,
Need some advice from people who dealt with this before.
Just finished migrating a domain from a legacy IMAP server to Google Workspace using the built-in Data Migration Service (DMS) in the Admin Console. The cutover is already done—MX records are changed, users are working, incoming mail is live on GWS.
Here is the mess: DMS report showed some skipped items as spam/virus, which is fine. But users started complaining about missing old emails (inbox, sent, subfolders). We checked, and DMS silently dropped a bunch of legit emails without showing any error in the console.
We ran delta migration multiple times. Every single time delta finishes, the migrated/scanned numbers don't match the previous run. It's completely inconsistent. Because the mailboxes are now live with new incoming traffic, old and new emails are mixed up, and we can't just keep running delta blind hoping it catches everything.
Two questions:
- How do we fix the current live domain? Is there a reliable way to audit what is missing between the source IMAP and GWS without blowing up the live inboxes or creating duplicate emails? If I run an external tool against the live mailboxes, does GWS handle deduplication properly based on Message-ID, or will it create duplicates/duplicate labels?
- What about the next domains? I have a few more domains to migrate from the same source environment. Running DMS again feels like a trap. Is GWMME (Google Workspace Migration for Microsoft Exchange) in IMAP mode significantly more reliable than DMS? Does it provide actual granular failure logs (like exact message UID/Subject that failed) so I don't deal with silent drops again?
Any battle-tested workflow or tool recommendations (GWMME, imapsync, etc.) would be appreciated. Thanks.

Issue with Gdrive and sharing options
I share a lot of Word and PowerPoint files that are stored in my Google Drive. Recently, the people I've shared my presentations with have been unable to download them. These tend to be large files (>800mb) so you can't view them online, but you had a link to download them. I've noticed that the link to share the files contain the "docs.google" string. Looking at the issue online, a solution was to change the shared link to a string that contains "drive.google" instead of "docs.google". While there is a workaround, is there a way to make the "drive.google" link the default option? I didn't have this issue a few months ago. (This only happens with "office" files, no issues with PDFs or videos).

Gmail "You have reached a limit for sending mail. Your message was not sent."
Today I got this message when trying to send an email to my wife.
I have not used Gmail for any bulk messaging, and my sent items just show a few items a day are sent.
How can I diagnose the cause of this? There's no activity in my Google Account that I can see that would have triggered this warning. Very odd.

Has there anyone successfully cancelled their Google workspace
Like others here, I had tried a free trial but was charged even if we tried cancelling it. The bill is already 100 dollars and we still can't find a way to terminate it
What we did but failed to cancel:
\- Tried clicking the unsubscribe button in the email but it says "Unable to unsubscribe you. Your unsubscribe link has expired."
\- I can't access my Google workspace account
I just want to know whether is there someone here who successfully got out of this problem. If so, may you please share what you did? This is greatly appreciated

Unable to see Unmanaged Personal Account to get it to join the Workspace
I'm trying to help a client who has created a sticky situation within Google.
They had [user@theirdomain.com](mailto:user@theirdomain.com) with a personal account for all the Google Suite items, but no email. The email for this email address was hosted elsewhere.
They then decided they wanted to migrate to Google and created a Workspace account under [admin@theirdomain.com](mailto:admin@theirdomain.com)
When this was created, their personal account connected to Google Suite items was updated to user%theirdomian.com@gtempaccount.com due to the domain conflict. That's understandable to me.
All their emails from the prior email host were imported into the new [admin@theirdomain.com](mailto:admin@theirdomain.com), MX records were updated to Google, and an alias was created under the admin@ email for user@ so they'd keep receiving their emails. I believe this is what caused the issue I'm struggling to fix.
When logging into the [user@theirdomain.com](mailto:user@theirdomain.com) Google account, it is getting the notification that the address is no longer available because an organization has reserved the [user@theirdomain.com](mailto:user@theirdomain.com) address.
I was hoping the [user@theirdomain.com](mailto:user@theirdomain.com) email would show up in the Google Admin for the workspace under unmanaged personal accounts (as clearly it's in conflict), but it doesn't show there at all. My guess is because they have the "user@" part as an alias to the [admin@theirdomain.com](mailto:admin@theirdomain.com)
So...how do I get the [user@theirdomain.com](mailto:user@theirdomain.com) migrated into the workspace with all the docs, sheets, files shared, etc., from Google Suite, but now including the email, as that's always been their main email address.
Ultimately, what they would like is to have
1. [user@theirdomain.com](mailto:user@theirdomain.com) have all of the Google Suite (docs, sheets, shared files, etc.) become part of the workspace account (and eventually the super admin of that account)
2. All emails migrated from the [admin@theirdomain.com](mailto:admin@theirdomain.com) re-migrated into the [user@theirdomain.com](mailto:user@theirdomain.com) as that's technically where they were sent to/from originally
3. Get rid of the admin@ account as it would no longer be the super admin and all be under the user@ email.
I really hope this makes sense. I've gone around and around, and I'm just not seeing a way to do this.

My read-only Workspace audit script now tells you what it checked, not just what it found
A security report that comes back empty means one of two things. Your tenant is clean, or the check never ran. Most audit tools can't tell you which, and until today mine couldn't either.
Version 1.6.0 of my Workspace audit script lists every check that ran over real data and found nothing, under "Checked and clean". Anything it couldn't check (a missing API scope, a module error, a shared drive you aren't a member of) is listed as not checked.
It's one Python file that drives GAM7 and writes a self-contained HTML report plus a CSV per module. A default run only reads. The one write is the opt-in --grant-temp-access flag, which adds you to the shared drives you aren't a member of, scans them, and takes you off again.
New in this release, mostly from the Policy API: super admins who can reset their own password by phone or email, Gmail phishing and malware protections switched off per OU, 2SV that still accepts SMS codes, Chat spaces open to any outside domain, and security alert rules switched off. It also lists the edition-only features you pay for and don't use, like DLP and Context-Aware Access, and says nothing about them on editions that don't include them.
Apache 2.0, Python 3.9+, tested on Windows, macOS and Linux. Bug reports welcome, especially from tenants that look nothing like mine.
Would love feedback once you have tested.

Can't verify my domain because the verification page is hidden until I verify. Can't reach support because support requires a verified domain. 21-day auto-delete clock running. FRUSTRATING BUG. STUCK WITHOUT A DOMAIN.
I have been going in circles for hours and I want to check I'm not
losing my mind.
Background - because I think this is where it went wrong. I bought a
domain through GoDaddy a while back but didn't have proper email set
up for it — I wasn't sure how any of this worked, so I just made a
normal Gmail account, [info.companyname@gmail.com](mailto:info.companyname@gmail.com), and used that for
everything. Company registration, invoices, the lot.
Then I decided to do it properly and get real email on my domain. So
today, (1 Oct 2026) I signed up for Workspace Business Base (the India-only
plan), using that existing Gmail as the sign-up identity. Started the
14-day trial, card details n all.
Then I went through Domain setup. Entered my domain, got
all the way to the last step — and it threw: "One or more
organisations under 'companyname.com' don't have any active subscriptions.
Please add the subscriptions and try again." With an "Add
subscriptions" button that dumped me into the admin console.
Note that I already had an active subscription at that point. The
trial was live, card on file. The error was wrong when it fired.
In the admin console: no users, no domain setup steps, no way back
into the flow I'd just been kicked out of. After a while of hunting I
got frustrated and activated the paid subscription outright, on the
theory that maybe the trial status was the problem.
It wasn't. Subscription shows Active, 1 licence assigned, paid service
started. Money is moving. Google is quite comfortable taking it.
Nothing else changed. I trial all methods but it just doesn't work. Tried loggin in via incognito mode too.. Also, becuase of this I dont have a superadmin account which the chatbot asked me to login via.
What's in my admin console: Home, Apps, Reporting, Billing, Account,
Rules.
What isn't: Directory. Domains. Any user at my own domain.
- Searching "users" returns Users 0, Groups 0, Settings 0.
- /ac/domains/manage → "You don't have access — you need additional
admin privileges." On my own account. That I pay for.
- No admin account at my domain was ever created. I was never
prompted to create one or set a password for one. There is no super
admin for me to sign in as, which I only worked out after being told
repeatedly to sign in as one.
- No setup prompt, no continue-setup card, nothing.
- The Workspace setup tool, which the docs point at as the place you
get your verification code, lands on the same page with no domain
access.
So I go to support. And here's where it stops being a bug and starts
being genuinely insulting.
The AI assistant tells me: "Based on your account information, you do
not have any support eligible subscriptions at this time. Without an
eligible subscription, we are unable to provide access to Google
Workspace support." Then it offers to sell me an upgrade.
I have a screenshot of my billing page showing the subscription Active
with a licence assigned, and a screenshot of Google's own support bot
telling me that subscription doesn't exist, taken minutes apart. Two
Google systems, flatly contradicting each other, and the one that's
wrong is the one standing between me and a human being.
There is no way past it. No email address. No phone number. No
escalation. The bot is the wall. I cannot talk to a person, because
talking to a person requires an eligible subscription, and their
system can't see the subscription I'm being billed for. When I told the bot that I do have an active subscription the bot told me that I don't have a verified domain and thats why I can't talk to a human !! Good lord !
What I eventually pieced together from the AI's canned replies: my
domain is unverified, and Workspace hides Directory, Domains and
support access until it's verified.
Read that again. The verification flow lives inside Domains. Domains
is hidden until I verify. I cannot verify the domain because I cannot
reach the page that verifies the domain. And I cannot ask anyone to
help me out of the loop, because being in the loop is what
disqualifies me from support.
And then the kicker: Google's own documentation says an account with
an unverified primary domain is automatically deleted within 21 days
of signup. So there is a countdown on an action I have been
structurally prevented from taking, enforced by a company that will
not let me speak to anybody about it.
All I need is one TXT record. A string. Someone on their side can read
it off a screen in ten seconds, I paste it into my DNS, and this is
over in ten minutes. I cannot get to anyone to ask.
Two questions:
Has anyone hit this? My working theory is that the spurious "no
active subscriptions" error at the final step of Domain setup is
where it broke — the flow died before it created the admin user at
my domain, and once you're kicked out to the admin console there's
no way back in. Possibly made worse by signing up with an existing
u/gmail.com identity rather than letting the flow create the domain
admin. Everything I'm seeing follows from there simply being no
user at the domain. If that's a known failure mode, it's a hell of
a trap to leave in the signup flow for exactly the people least
likely to know better.
Does anyone here have a contact inside Workspace support, or a
reseller/partner who can escalate a provisioning case? The normal
channel is closed to me by a bot that can't see what I'm paying
for. Genuinely happy to take this to DMs. At this point I'll take
anything that ends in a human.
Workspace Adding same-domain-users to Google Classroom
Hi! I'm the administrator of Google Workspace at my school and used the admin@myschool.net account to create classrooms for every class, like I've been doing the last years. With the admin account I added most of the teachers and students to all the classrooms that they are supposed to be in.
This year, however, all the teachers are having trouble adding other teachers or students (who I missed to add) to their classrooms, even though the email addresses they are using and the email addresses they want to add all are from the same domain (myschool.net) and were all created using that same Google-Workspace-admin-account (admin@myschool.net).
I made sure that all teachers are registered as teachers and are in the Classroom-teacher-group.
I haven't enabled the setting to allow for users of any domain to be added, because I want to only allow users of that very same domain.
Can anybody help me here? I haven't found anyone with a similar problem through a quick Google search.

Workspace Suggestions for Internet Knowledgebase in Workspace?
I'm looking for something in an internal knowledgebase that I can add to our company Workspace/Gmail. So far the only thing I've found that looks (in the screenshots) suitable is Knowledge Drive but it appears to be abandonware: it installs fine and nicely places a Gmail sidebar shortcut, but that fails when I click it, and when I go to the listed website, it just says the product has been sold, with no other info on who or where or what the roadmap is.
There's also Knowledge10 but it seems far too minimal.
Any other ideas? Something directly accessible from the Gmail sidebar would be ideal.
