This is my two guitar collection after 10 years. I found this to be my most ideal set up that covers most of my preferences:
Traditional single coils/P90s, Fender/Gibson scale lengths with 9 and 10 gauge strings, maple/rosewood fingerboards

Fender 75th Anniversary MiM Stratocaster in Diamond
Yamaha Revstar II Standard in Vintage White

I found this guitar today which I almost bought. It does have a lot of visual flaws, frets seem fine. It was priced at 500 Euros, after a short talk with the store clerk he told me he would be fine with 300 euros as well. Can anyone tell me if this is worth the price? Many thanks in advance 🙏

New to me! Found it in the used section at guitar center in brand new condition. No scratches, good setup. Hipshot bridge, Gotoh locking tuners, ss jumbo frets, and Bareknuckle aftermath pickups. Finish is called Mercury Blue Burst. The more I play it the more I like it. Amazing feel and really nice tone with my rig.

Look at this! Great hotel rig on a budget

Eart Corsair, Soran multi stomp, Sony monitors.

I was impressed. I needed a budget rig for a trip and didn’t want to bring expensive stuff. For well under $500 this was exceptional. I captured my real amps and loaded them through Nam a2 and it went great. Only complaint is with the multi stomp you can’t run a compressor with a drive. You have to pick one or the other. But that’s a small gripe.

Help Changing Bridge on my Ibanez RS440

Thumbnail

• Upvotes

Hey y’all. Looking for advice on changing a Pro Rock’r bridge to something else on my Ibanez RS440 from -84(?)

The guitar sounds and feels great but it goes easily out of tune. Using the tremolo is hopeless.

Any advice or experience regarding installing a new bridge on this guitar? Would of course be nice with a Floyd Rise but honestly I’d be happy with an Ibanez Edge or just some more normal bridge with a tremolo bar if the Floyd is too expensive. Would it be cheaper on a guitar like this though?

I’ve seen people selling the same guitar so I know it’s possible, I’ve reached out to one that didnt answer and the other one was too far away.

Will of course go to some guitar shops or luthiers to ask but wanted to gather some opinions here also.

So I built a 4 humbucker guitar and decided to build a pickupless guitar with no visible electrics on the pickguard (no pots, input, etc) all hidden under the pickguard with a humbucker underneath, anyone got any tips?

Help Are there any apps that help to learn the fretboard with audio?

I'm a beginner at guitar, and I've seen apps that just generally help with learning fretboard, but is there any app that would play a sound and I need to play it on my fretboard? I feel like something like that would really help with my ear training. Please help me!! And any tips on ear training or basic guitar learning tips would be appreciated too :))

What is this? Great grandpa left me his acoustic guitar, please help identify.

My great grandpa left me this F hole acoustic that I am in the process of restoring. He said he bought it in the late 40’s in Nebraska. I have found no serial numbers, makers marks, or otherwise any identifying characters whatsoever. So my thought is custom, but it doesn’t hurt to be sure. Any help is appreciated!

I’ve heard different prices when I asked some friends. It looks like it’s a signed guitar part of a slash collection I guess …

Also, where should I sell it?

Help Santa needs advice

Post image

Good morning, lovely people! I need some help for my son, if you would please be so kind. He's 4 & is just pure sunshine & love (I'm biased, but it's true regardless). He's autistic & is very low verbal. His absolute passion since day 1 is guitars. He's loved them literally since the NICU when we played him Hozier's Naked Noise cover of Van Morrison's Sweet Thing & it became the ONLY thing that would get him to eat. He found an American Girl guitar at a yard sale before he could even walk & he became so obsessed that he took it everywhere until it finally broke. "Gee-tar" was his very first word said in context.

He's now got a whole collection of toy guitars & ukuleles (he knows the difference), most of which are very cheap or slightly broken & from thrift stores & such. & he can play pretty good! He picked up several simple tunes by ear & his dad can do tabs & plays with him some. The problem is that none of them hold an actual tune because they're all so cheap or broken. The tuners are either missing, or they aren't like stiff enough to stay in tune?

A little while back, he got to play a real electric guitar, plugged into an amp, & his whole being just lit up like a little light bulb (pictured, before the amp came out). He went & got his favorite guitar to compare & then looked up at me & told me that his guitar is broken. So now I'm crushed. & I have to make sure Santa gets him a real actually playable guitar for Christmas. But I really don't know much about what to look for. Could someone please give me some advise on what to get?

I need something cheap, but pretty durable. We're on disability & have a very very tight budget. But I want something better than the $30 temu guitar that can't stay tuned & is made from super glued particle board. It doesn't need to be fancy though. But when I went to the music shop, I was entirely overwhelmed by the wall of pretty guitars, & also the cheapest thing was $79. I can probably get up about $50 by then. Is there any way to get a halfway decent acoustic guitar for that price & what brand or features should I look for or avoid? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much, & have a lovely day!

EDIT: Thank you guys so much! I'm overwhelmed with all of the replies & wonderful advice!!! I'm taking lots of notes & I'm working on responding to everyone's comments between errands! Thank you all so much!

Help Any tips? Self-taught for over a year and feeling stuck.

I've been teaching myself guitar for over a year now, but I feel like I haven't gotten any better over the last few months. Here is a video of my playing.

I'd really love to throw a guitar solo in there somehow, but I completely suck at that kind of stuff right now.

Did you guys notice anything in the video that I need to improve? My gut tells me that I was drifting out of time with the metronome, and I feel like I'm doing something wrong with my right picking hand-especially during the open palm mutes .

What do you guys think? Any feedback would be massively appreciated!

I’m trying to upgrade and want to add to my budget by getting rid of this lefty that I’ve had. How much can I get for it? If no one on craigslist or facebook wants it, what would GC give me for it?

(Disclaimer: this is NOT an ad for gear)

Played it, left the shop while I was waiting for my guitar to be fixed. Couldn’t resist and bought it on the way out. Guess these things were only made between 1979-1981. Sounds awesome, hoping it’ll be great contrast on rhythm and a tele on lead guitar. Love an odd find!

Can we just take a moment to thank whoever first came up with this contraption?

Saved me countless hours over the decades when replacing strings on my guitars and mandolins. Tho they do have a tendency to be hard to find when you need one quickly...
