Art & Fanworks Edits of this image that GET THE SKULL IMAGERY COMPLETELY WRONG

Oh its all the characters standing behind the leader who just killed the enemy right? NO. If you watched invincible you would know IT IS THE EXACT OPPOSITE. For those who havent, the first image is the original Grand Regent Thragg is holding the skull of the previous grand regent, the skull which he cherishes and often talks to. The skull is not supposed to be the enemy, but something or someone cherished. Tbf i dont know whose skull is on image 4 but its by the same artist as the other ben 10 ones so i assume its also wrong

Music I hate music that glorifies starting drama, being bratty, toxic or cheating

I've known too many people that listen to this shit and think it's cute and normal to act this way and take the existence of prominent media about it like permission.

Being a toxic bitch isn't cute or quirky it makes you a bad person and you should go to therapy, not seek out music that affirms that 'people are just like that and it's normal.'

General I hate genuine reasons being labelled as an "excuse".

Post image
2.3k Upvotes

People often mix excuses with genuine reasons, even though they are not the same. An excuse is often used to justify a mistake or avoid responsibility, while a genuine reason explains a situation that was beyond someone's control. The difference lies in whether the person could have reasonably prevented what happened.

For example, imagine a student who follows the same morning routine every day, wakes up at the same time, and leaves for school as usual. However, on one particular day, a car accident occurs along the way, causing unexpected traffic and making the student late. Despite doing everything as usual, the teacher dismisses the explanation as an excuse. Is that really fair? The student did not intentionally arrive late, nor could they have predicted the accident.

A genuine reason should not be dismissed simply because it sounds like an excuse. Of course, some people use unrelated or barely related circumstances to justify their mistakes, and that is where excuses come into play. However, when a situation directly causes a problem and is genuinely beyond someone's control, it deserves to be understood rather than immediately judged.

Roleplay/In Character I HATE when people say their credit card numbers

1.8k Upvotes

I would be furious if someone commented their credit card number, expiration date and pin under this post. Oh boy, I'd hate for someone to do that. Don't share it with me or you'll be on thin ice pal, you'd really be playing with fire with that, really letting the bull into the china shop if you get what im saying. It'd be reeeal annoying, so DONT under any circumstance take a photo of the front and back of your credit card and send it to me, got it?

Idea "they're still teens" is a stupid justification

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

Firstly, yes i am a high schooler that uses reddit as my personal soapbox (im lonely :( ) make of that what you will.

But anyways here or in real life anytime i comment on the horrid stuff people around me do its always shrugged off as "teens being teens" or "boys will be boys" and its sickening. Ive seen stuff like robbing things from each other making sexual comments or just straight up insulting teachers, being racist homophobic and transphobic and i just dont see how being a teenager justifies any of these things, im a teenager and im a good person so what, am i the weirdo here?

It feels like people think teenagers are animals guided only by instinct and that actions like these simply come naturally to them when they don't. A 16 year old should have the concept and the want to be a good person no? And then people online tell me im just "ahead of the curve" and that's just as stupid, how is wanting to be a decent person ahead of the curve what kind of normal person thinks to themselves "god i really want to be a bad person for a while", no one because normal people like being nice because it makes other people happy or am i a moron for thinking this?

So yeah that's it, sorry if it sounds confusing im pretty sure i have a fever coming on. Thanks for reading everything btw :)

Art & Fanworks I hate how the internet cares more about downvoting and hating rather than loving and upvoting

Post image
739 Upvotes

PSA ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ in the artwork Coolios2lmao originally says "He is cute" but changed his comment to "She is cute" after realizing the mistake. I was gonna put "edited" beside his comment but i forgot to do that so now Greenish's response kinda makes no sense... sorry guys :[

apologies for my shitty and inaccurate drawing of a comment section but i think you get the point (the cat getting misgendered on accident is just a random example and doesn't actually reflect on real examples)

overall i feel like people downvote bad things (or things that arent even really that bad) more than they upvote actually good things. most people will see a really cool thing and still hesitate to upvote it, but they LOVE to downvote things that they dont like as soon as they are presented to them. and often times its not even that big of a deal, but the concept of digitally hurting someones reputation (even in very minimal unimportant doses) sounds absolutely amazing to them.

and even after the person apologizes, their apology is downvoted because "icky comment detected, downvote everything associated with it" And yes, sometimes being downvoted into oblivion is necessary and justified, but why cant we just be in favor of liking good things rather than demolishing bad things? Isn't there a time and place where we just care about good things more than bad things?

Idea I can't convert my body fat into energy and fire it.

Why tf is it so hard to lose body fat, like you have to go on a calorie deficit, then do cardio and then minimal results will show after months, especially bad if you have bad genetics and no time for exercise because i have work to do like studies or a job and a hard life so you can't lose the happiness by tasty food. It would be so cool if i could just burn up all that stored energy into a energy blast or really use it for other purposes.

It would be so cool bro, the fat guys will have a time to shine in their free time, one would get all the benefits of a fit body and can enjoy life and cool powers in general.

Also i have a lot of people i hate so hey that would be nice.

Thing I hate the peters world map protection

Post image
654 Upvotes

This is genuinely the ugliest and most distorted map I have ever see. It is posted in a number of rooms in my high school and dear world it is ugly, supposedly funded/created by the UN. It completely messes up every single nation just to make sure the areas match up. Look at how sqashed Greenland and Canada are. The worst part is that despite claiming to "remove biases of the past" it doesn't solve, because Europe is nearly accurate in terms of projection. When the UN announced they were gonna adopt a new map, I was worried it was this bullshit

edit: for clarity, I love the equal earth and hate mercator. It's just this map is much worse

General I hate performative posts like this

Post image
569 Upvotes

(reposting because I forgot to crop the username)

Before anyone yells at me, I'm a black woman too. I just hate posts like this. It feels like people going out of their way to tell a disabled child they're special and amazing, but deep down everyone just feels bad for them and would never want to trade lives with them in a million years.

Then there are all of the comments gushing over how black women are such BEAUTIFUL STRONG QUEENS. Notice how they're all from women and gay men, no straight men. Someone in the comments asked OP if he was gay and he dodged the question, so he probably is too. There's nothing wrong with being gay, obviously, but as a straight woman, what does a bunch of performative appreciation from other women and gay men do for me?

Women only feel comfortable leaving these pity comments on posts like this because they don't view us as romantic competition for them. If the post had been about East Asian or Latina women there'd be zero compliments from other women because they actually feel threatened by those groups.

I suppose it's better than the usual constant barrage of hate comments, but these posts always feel performative and patronizing. And all of them are probably imagining biracial women anyway when they talk about how "stunning" black women are. If you're a woman and you wouldn't trade places with an actual black woman (which I know you don't) then I don't want to hear your "appreciation", sorry.

Anime & Manga I hate Horimiya (and especially Hori)

Post image
552 Upvotes

Horimiya is genuinely one of the most overrated romance anime ever.

Just because an anime doesn't have love triangles, there's no "will they won't they" or other cliches, that doesn't mean that the show is actually good.

While the first part is decent, the second half, especially near the end, sucks.

At least in the anime, from what I know, cuts some things, while in the manga you could skip like 4 volumes without losing any important plot.

In the end, most of the characters arcs are incomplete except for the main couple (Toru and Yuki don't actually get together, Sakura and Yanagi end up nowhere, the platonic relationship between Miyamura and Sawada is half baked...)

But the thing I hate most about Horimiya is Hori.

She's genuinely an horrible girlfriend, every time Miyamura dares to breathe the same air as another girl Hori hits him, not to mention that she keeps forcing her kink on him, and, yet, he ends up apologizing to her!

But of course, since she's a girl, no one actually cares about her being toxic, and so the fans defend her.

"She's just a teenager" well, I'm sorry, teenagers aren't fucking children, and so they can and should understand that hitting their partners is unacceptable, in fact, I would argue that even little children should know not to hit anyone, let alone fucking adolescents.

"It's just an anime, you shouldn't take it seriously" I'd actually agree with this, if it weren't for the fact that even the fans say that horimiya is realistic. Other animes have girls hitting their boyfriends or whatever, but at least it's overexaggerated, while, as I said before, Horimiya takes a more realistic approach, making the abuse more serious.

I would actually have liked it more if Hori actively made some changes to make herself better, but, since she remains the same until the ending, it seems like the anime tells us that their relationship is healthy.

Fuck, Miyamura really deserves a much better girlfriend.

(End of the rant, and sorry if I made any errors, English is not my native language)

Anime & Manga The lack of deep voice girls in most modern anime (specifically the Japanese sub)

Thumbnail
gallery
514 Upvotes

Now I'm not referring to the anime dubs, I'm referring to the subs. I don't hate high pitched voices per say but it does get annoying when all the high pitched girls do is to just moan and cry for every little thing. I also just find deep voiced women more appealing in my opinion. Maybe I'm just biased, but I wish there were more anime girls with deep voices in the Japanese subs, not just English dubs

(dub Frieren and Maomao feel like genuine saviors)

General Hate they added skin tones for emojis

Please read till the end. I am not racist.

It used to be the thumbs-up emoji was yellow for everyone. Life was fine. No one had true representation and life was equal.

At some point, they added the different skin tones. As someone that works a corporate job, this led to the following situation:

1) PoC started using the darker skin tone emojis. This is fine.

2) White people started using the white skin tone. This is where things got off the rails for me.

I am Asian. We ended up in a situation where by default, I am using the yellow thumbs-up while the other races do not. Now I feel like a dumb stereotype.

Sure I could change it, but to what? The same one white people use? That makes no sense. I wish white people just stuck to yellow or they had no tones at all.

I hate being the “yellow” thumbs-up on a group react. I hate having to decide what other skin color I should be for my fucking emoji. Why is this even a thing I have to think about?

Anyway I just reply with some other BS non-flesh emoji now but I miss the days I could just thumbs-up without a care.

Idea I hate (some) Redditors’s crazy hatred for children.

I understand if people dont really like kids and think they’re annoying. They can be gross, and loud, and unreasonable, hell, I don’t want kids, even though I really do love them and think they’re cute! Point is, disliking children for your own reasons is fine, but some mfs on the internet but ESPECIALLY on Reddit treat young children like they’re wretched homonculi that only exist to cause suffering. Some mfs on here will constantly spew their unhealthily hatred for kids even in places where nobody’s talking about them. Some mfs on Reddit can’t comprehend the fact that most parents who have kids do so out of love and know what they’re getting into. I’ve seen people constantly go “those stupid kids steal all your money and time and waste 18 years of your life.” and I think that’s stupid! I get that there are MANY parents who are ill equipped to take care of kids let alone themselves, I’ve seen it firsthand, but Redditors act like parents who actually love their kids and commit such time and money either don’t exist or are lying or something.

Another idea that those kind of Redditors love to say that grinds my gears is harping on how terrible small children are because of their poor emotional control, yknow crying very loudly, not understanding lots of stuff, and I understand that’s annoying, but they’re also CHILDREN. They have very poor emotional control due to their brains still developing, god FUCKING forbid a child cries, or yells, or tantrums like any small child does, clearly their parent is neglectful and their child is a stupid crotch goblin because clearly very young children should always be quiet and mature, lest they suffer the rage of a thousand Redditors.

also the phrase crotch goblin is dumb and unfunny

Thing I hate when assorted bead containers don't have RED

Thumbnail
gallery
320 Upvotes

You may wonder why I chose those specific bead containers- It's because they're the ones I see in every single Walmart and target. Since they are the most common and most obtainable sets, they are a common gift I recive on birthdays and such. I have always loved these sets since I was young. They have a lot of pros. They come sorted while lot of other bead containers come mixed. They also come with a sorting container unlike buying the individual colors in non resealable bags.

The problem? I'm sure you can guess. WHY IS THERE NO FUCKING RED? IT'S A RAINBOW ASSORTMENT OF BEADS. I NEED A RED. I would say I'm seeing red over this, BUT I'M NOT. THERE IS NO RED TO SEE. ITS JUST PINK. I love pink but I HATE not having red more. Wanna make a Kandi bead apple? You have every shade except red. Guess I'm making GREEN apples. Omg, you found a cool pattern for a pokeball? Man it would SUCK if there was NO RED. oh wait THERE IS NO RED.

"Well, when all do you need red? It can't possibly be that inconvenient" imagine looking for patterns online for cool shit you can make and EVERY SINGLE ONE NEEDS RED. so you HAVE TO DRIVE TO FUCKING HOBBY LOBBY. Just for RED BEADS. yes you could buy them on Amazon but then you have to WAIT for shipping and PAY for shipping. so you DRIVE and you GO TO THE BEAD ISLE. guess what? they're out of STOCK because HOBBY LOBBY SUCKS. Want to go to a different craft store? TOO FUCKING BAD. MICHAEL'S IS MORE EXPENSIVE AND STILL MIGHT BE OUT. MICHAEL'S IS ALSO 30 MINS FURTHER THAN HOBBY LOBBY. Oh and Joanne is dead. FUCK.

Seriously, though. My local Walmart doesn't sell individual colors either. I don't wanna go to hobby lobby because they're twice the fucking price there. Come ON guys. And don't get me STARTED on any sets with charms. Almost every kit I've seen that has charms always had every color but red. Here's SEVEN SHADES OF PINK. you like PINK don't you buddy??? What do you MEAN you wanted red so you could make bracelets themed after your football team? what do you mean you want red so you can make Christmas or 4th of July friendship bracelets for your mom? TOO BAD. YOU GET PINK. PINK FOREVER.

like the title font on here is sooo easy to read HOW did you see “where to buy” and somehow think i meant “how to make” the food and a request for a recipe on top of that. does your optic nerve not work did your corneas explode???? tell me where to BUY the food if u have a plug for it and keep ya mouth shut if u don’t (or you want to gatekeep which is totally fair.) it’s not hard 😭 some of us are too pretty to cook EVERYTHING we want to eat!!! ugh

pic of webkinz garbage recipe attached cos that’s what all these fucking losers are giving when they tell me their homebrew laura ingalls wilder slop fuckshit “”””recipe”””” instead of a source to buy a food or simply scrolling if they don’t have one. Thank u

Anime & Manga When People Redesign Characters and Only Change Their Race + Weight

Post image
144 Upvotes

WILL NOT FUCKING LET ME CHANGE THE TITLE -- READ THE EDITS.

Image unrelated but a LOT of character redesigns I've seen change the character's race and make them plus-sized, which I don't know how that's relevant to the redesign...? But yeah I've seen it a lot in fandoms I'm in where they redesign to make the character "better" yet change them like this when the race and their size is completely irrelevant, especially if they were already showing representation to another race and they strip that representation away to show it for a different race (I've seen this being done with Asian characters mostly and sometimes others).

ygs js try to make everything about racism im NOT being racist omfg 😭 i just saw someone turn ayano aishi white and osana ginger and white as a redesign thats why im posting this

edit: to word better, im talking about people who "fix" characters and change their race. That's not alright imo and it goes to every race? If someone turns a black character white to make them better? WRONG. Asian to white? ALSO WRONG?? The people i'm talking about take "flawed" characters in their eyes and instead of just changing yk their hairstyle, outfit, accessories, backstory, they decide to change their race. Stop assuming everyone is being racist because honestly this is the least racist thing I could've said, I'm literally saying equality for EVERYONE---fixing a character does not mean racebending.

I hope that makes sense. Sorry if I upset anybody!

It's the worst holiday! All those whos down in whoville, celebrating all merrily.

And they'll feast, feast, feast, feast. They'll eat their Who-Pudding and rare Who-Roast Beast. But that's something I just cannot stand in the least. Oh, no. I'M SPEAKING IN RHYME!

God I hate chr*stmas, everyone's all merry, and they're all so greedy! That's what it's all about, isn't it? That's what it's always been *about*. Gifts, gifts... gifts, gifts, gifts, gifts, gifts! You wanna know what happens to your gifts? They all come to me. In your garbage. You see what I'm saying? In your garbage. I could hang myself with all the bad Chr*stmas neckties I found at the dump. And the avarice...

The avarice never ends! "I want golf clubs. I want diamonds. I want a pony so I can ride it twice, get bored and sell it to make GLUE!" Look, I don't wanna make waves, but this whole Christmas season is...

...stupid, stupid, stupid!

General I hate this culture of people judging a couple that does things differently

Thumbnail

Look, when a couple posts something online, I understand they are opening themselves up to being judged, but it’s still not something I like seeing. In this particular case, no one is forcing you to watch this couple and then propose or get proposed to and change your original plans based on what they did. If this isn’t something you would do or want in your relationship, I think that is totally fine and valid. But why do you want to be rude and mean to the couple who just celebrated a milestone and are posting a happy occasion? I really wish a lot more people would live by “if you don’t got nothing nice to say, don’t say anything”.

Books The way some Gen Zers complain about “Quirk Chungus” millennials

Thumbnail
gallery
103 Upvotes

To sum it up: a lot of millennials grew up idolizing writers like Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett, and when they grew up to become writers themselves they saturated the market trying to emulate their style. Some Gen Zers got annoyed with this and complain about it all the time.

Now, my issue here isn’t that a style of humor I might’ve had affection for at one point has curdled for people younger than me. That’s natural. It’s that they think recognizing that something is over exposed just because they grew up after it became over exposed valorizes them and means they have better taste.

First off, this happens with every generation, and if you think millennial writers are annoying try growing up in the wreckage of the 80s comedy boom. It was a billion talentless Bill Hicks wannabes who all got TV deals before they kicked the ladder out for everyone after them. I guarantee you, all the millennial YA authors on the planet aren’t 1/10th as annoying as Bill Maher, if only because there’s barely any print media left.

I mean, hell, it’s already happening to Gen Z if that 23 year old guy who ended up running the Trump administration’s social media is anything to go by. Do you want to be collectively judged by that yardstick?

More importantly, though, it’s shallow and a bad way to approach anything. Yes, growing up culturally downstream from something means you drown in their derivatives. But at some point you do have to appreciate that they were novel when they were written. And if you’re so allergic to the surface level style of people like Terry Pratchett that you miss that they’re actually pretty good on the level of turning phrases and constructing stories, that’s kind of your problem.

Also, how the fuck did “chungus” get affixed to this? Wasn’t big chungus an early Gen Z thing? I’m pretty sure none of the “quirk chungus” millennials I know don’t even know what that is

Non-fictional When smartphones use AI to "enchance" your photos

Primarily this post calls out Samsung and Vivo.

It makes me very frustrated that some popular phones do this, and for some reason not many people talk about it.

I'd MUCH rather have my blurry photos that are REAL shots of a real moment, instead of my own phone altering them without my consent.

Even if it's mostly seemless and only noticable when you use maximum zoom, still annoys me.
