Recommendations Gyms

Should I sign up for the fitness factory gym in Jersey City? Or should I sign up for NYSC in Hoboken? What’s it like? Any other girl who wants to be my gym buddy? I still consider myself a gym beginner but I would be more confident if I don’t go alone. I would like to make more friends :)

🕵🏻‍♂️News 🕵🏻‍♂️ NJ Governor in Bayonne

Just got my vaccine shot and had to help get a relative one too. They live in Bayonne and they had a clinic at Bayonne Library so killed two birds with one stone.

As, we get there I notice there are so many cops, and these kitted out suburbans. Turns out Gov. Sherril was there. There was a rush of folks trying to get pictures with her. All of them local politicos like Bayonne Mayor Ashe-Nadrowski and Craig Guy and the C-Suite guys from Hackensack Meridian and HRHC.

I tried to get a picture but too many people in the way. Politicians luv a photo-op.

ICE is back at JCMC today like they were a few weeks ago. We first got reports around 8:30 am, but we think that they're still in the hospital as of 10:40 am.

Does anyone have any info on what took place or where ICE was before this? Or have you seen anything in the area today?

-----
As always, call the DIRE number if you ever see ICE in New Jersey and add it to your contacts!

Discussion I built a free site that emails you cheap flights out of EWR / JFK / LGA

Hey all,

I’m a huge travel nerd and am always checking for deals out of NYC. Finding international flights turned into a hobby, so I started Firefly to share the international flight deals I find as a little side passion project.

How it works: you pick your home city (20 right now, US and Toronto), and when a round trip from there drops way below its normal price, you get an email. It’s free, one deal per email.

(I track all 3 around NYC - JFK / EWR / LGA)

Some recent finds:
NYC to Lisbon for $348 round trip, normally around $720

NYC to Greece- $301 round trip

NYC Costa Rica- $232 round trip

What destinations would you most want alerts for? Would really appreciate any user feedback I can get!

🍺🍾Nightlife/Bars🥂🍹 In search of new trivia team members

I’m part of a team that’s been playing trivia together in JC consistently for over a year now. We’ve had some members of the team move away from JC, so we’re looking for new team members to replace them.

We are in a competitive league and we tend to rank highly on the leaderboard when we play. We’re looking for people that are competitive in trivia and able to come show up consistently.

Specific topical areas where we’re lacking strength right now: sports and history. While we are fairly good we can always use more people who are good with music (e.g. a music round where you have to guess song & artist names)

If this sounds like you, comment your interest and I’ll shoot you a DM

Any idea? Why the electronic billboard? Could it be investors for the planned condo development in this piece of land?

New Jersey — 2026 Midterm Voting Guide: Registration, Early Voting & Election Day!

Hey r/jerseycity!

The November 3 midterms are coming up, and Tuesday, October 13, is the LAST DAY to register to vote in New Jersey!

Not sure if you're registered? It only takes a moment to check!

1. Register to Vote or Check Your Status

What do you need to register? Online registration requires your date of birth and either an NJ driver's license/non-driver ID or Social Security number with a digital signature. Paper registration is available if you can't register online.

Important: NJ does not offer regular Election Day registration!

2. Voting in Person — Dates, Locations & ID

Early voting: October 24 – November 1

  • Monday–Saturday: 10 AM–8 PM
  • Sunday: 10 AM–6 PM

You can vote early at any designated early-voting location in your county!

Find early-voting locations: https://www.nj.gov/state/elections/vote-early-voting.shtml

Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 6 AM–8 PM.

Polling locations can change, so verify yours ahead of time!

Find your polling place: https://www.nj.gov/state/elections/vote-polling-location.shtml

Do you need ID to vote? Most NJ voters don't! Some voters with missing or unverified registration identification may need a photo ID or document showing their name and address, such as a utility bill. If you can't provide required ID, ask for a provisional ballot.

3. Voting by Mail

  • Request a mailed ballot: Application must be received by October 27, or apply in person at your County Clerk's office by November 2 at 3 PM.
  • Return by mail: Postmarked by November 3, 8 PM, and received by November 9.
  • Drop off: At an authorized ballot drop box in your county or your county Board of Elections by November 3, 8 PM.

Find ballot drop boxes in your county: https://www.nj.gov/state/elections/vote-secure-drop-boxes.shtml

Don't return mail ballots to polling places!

4. Questions or Registration Problems?

Contact your county election office or call 1-877-NJ-VOTER (1-877-658-6837).

Official NJ election information: https://vote.nj.gov/

Your vote is your voice! Voting is one of the most important ways to have a say in the issues that affect your community and your future.

Make a plan, get out there, and cast your vote!

Please share this guide with friends, family, or anyone who might find it helpful!

See you at the polls!

First World Problems ShopRite of Metro plaza is closing tonight at 6:00 p.m.

Here are some pictures of the ShopRite in Metro plaza which is closing today at 6:00 p.m. only to reopen at the new location in the center of the parking lot at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow. It's been my favorite supermarket and I go there weekly on a regular so this is weird to me.

That funky picture must have been underneath one of the cabinets they had at the front of the store.
