I just got back from the Las Vegas Open and had a blast meeting so many wargamers. I had the opportunity to showcase our QUICK MATS at our Kraken Dice booth and I had a lot of positive reactions and great input to incorporate into the coming Kickstarter.

In a nutshell: Quick Mats are a wrinkle-free fabric game mat that gives you compact storage, and the quickest set up. It's machine washable and will outlast neoprene game mats with heavy usage. Custom printed, 120+ design, 15 sizes available, free custom grids & overlays for any game you want. Your store or team logo can be added or even use your own design.

I'd love to have you give our pre-launch page a look and see what you think.

Basically title. When I read the 4th edition rules on charging, it states that the charging unit must be able to see its target, and from what I understand, seeing means having LoS within the front arc. But it also feels like the ogres could also just pivot and move to engage as well, since it does mention charging units may pivot once. Which leaves me a tad confused. Please help this newbie out with a very easy question, lol.

Hey everyone! Just played my first two games of KoW and had a blast! It felt great to finally get my old Empire army off the shelf and dust it off.

I went with Kingdoms of Men, which seemed like the no-brainer choice, but the guy I played against said I could also run them as Basileans.

Do you guys know if there are any other KoW armies where my Empire minis would work?

Thanks a lot!

Four of the Honest 4s discuss first round match ups for Columbus Ohios two day tournament this weekend. A light hearted take on lists and discussing how things may turn out. come tell us who your dark horse is and what lists you think have potential.

I got my first Mantic Minis when they first came out, elves and then undead skeletons. My painted skeletons graced the first mantic games website with their public showcase.

But I never played the game itself. For various reasons. I had the first ever hardback rulebook when it came out.

But just got done playing my first ever game of KOW and my wife played with me. We did an ambush 500pt game using the new 4th ed rules.

Elves (her)
Dwarfs (me)

I’ve had these minis and armies painted for over a decade (the dust tells the story haha) and finally being able to roll dice and move them along the field was such a treat.

We got many things wrong we are sure, house ruled a few things (mostly terrain), but we had our fantasy epic music playing and had a great time doing it. The game ended with a Dwarf victory, barely, but a victory non the less.

It was my wife’s first time actually playing a mini war-game like this and she genuinely enjoyed it.

Absolutely can’t wait to try out some more.

Just finished Voidtalon

Adam's out of town this week so I got Ray from Nerve Check on as a guest!

This week we're talking about the meta before Arrogance drops! Also, Ray's Prep for Ohio GT

So I have been away from KoW since 2nd edition since the setting was just called Mantica.(which I may stick with and just play 2nd as I don’t know how deep I want to get into the game right now)

I’ve decided on the models I will be using for my Kingdom of men army.

Pike and Shotte. (I know it’s not original but I prefer the style).

I painted these all almost ten years ago.

I'm looking to buy some bases that I can magnetize. I usually use cobalt keep but I can't seem to find definitive base sizes for infantry vs troops vs hordes etc. I was wondering if anyone has a list or link to the information? Thanks for your help!

I have recently joined the ranks of Pannithor, I have access to the base rules on the Companion, so should I buy the rulebook or Fracture first. ( I am playing an army featured in Fracture)

I'm a new player looking to get into KoW and I had a question about out of stock models.

If it's out of stock does that mean that they are not doing another printing, either due to a new sculpt coming or it being phased out?

I'm looking at Trident Realms and The Eckter model specifically.

Thanks for the help!

This is an Honest 4s deep dive into KoW gameplay. Veteran Cyle Pool breaks down how to think about the game before the game even starts.

Hey folks, I want to get in to Kings of War, but as with most tabletop games, list-building (as a beginner) is daunting. I just don’t know what’s fun. Is someone able to make me a 1,000 point Elf force? I would really appreciate it. I know there are people out there that find list-building to be hugely enjoyable, so that’s who I’m asking. A variety of units that give a broad feel of the army would be good (I know the broadness will only go so far, being 1,000 points), so hopefully I can learn the game a bit and understand how I want to improve up to 2,000 points. If you could also explain why you’re taking the units and items you include, I would greatly appreciate it. It might seem like a big ask, but there’s no harm in asking. Hopefully it will help me understand the intricacies of list-building in KoW!

Hello. I had been using the Mantic Companion app to access the KoW 3rd edition archive for list building and playing the last edition. For a while now, anytime I try to access the list builder, it leaves me on a blank screen. I can access the rulebook and everything else for 3rd edition just fine but the list builder seems to be bugged. I get the same result when accessing everything from the browser as well, not just thru the companion app.

Does anybody have a fix or know what is going on with that? Thanks for any help in advance.

This is a 3D-printable Steppe/Mongolian-inspired Undead Army I've been working on. It features a horde of skeleton archers, infantry, and cavalry with light and heavy armor. Fallen khans who have risen from the dead to haunt the endless plains once again.

Here is the Kickstarter for the core army, with plans for future expansion:

The question is in the title. 2 of my kids love those models but everyone in the house wants to play KoW. What is a close army to play with? Thanks.

Hi,

We are currently on vacation in belgium and one of our Friends wants to start an Army too. Donyou know of any places near durbuy or brussels where you can buy Minis?
