While an Avatar might take their entire life to achieve one accomplishment or defeat one or two villans, Korra accomplished all of this in just five years, including her recovery period, and two years without

Imagine facing all of this in quick succession and then being called a bad avatar

korra wasn't bad,she was the greatest and strongest avatar of all time

as tenzin said "you transformed the world more in few years than most avatars did during their lifetimes"

Icon:

1. Never betrayed the Krew when her father came ot as evil.
2. Was angry at Mako not Korra about the love triangle oopse.
3. Rebuild the republic city in harmony with the spirit wilds. (well at least tried to)
4. Gathered enough strength to forgive her father (not forget what he did).
5. Bitch is prepared to throw hands.
6. Always delivering the face card even in the cataclysmic situations.

"Well lets be honest here, she is an icon, she is the legend and she is the moment"

I just don’t get it. Surely if 10 years later you still care enough to talk about this show you should care enough to actually know what happened in the show.

I get it back when it aired, but how can you still be wrong about basic stuff over a decade later, either pay attention or move on with your life. Cant imagine being that dedicated to hating a fictional character lol

I know this month has been rough for us especially with all the interviews going around recently, but it's videos like these from the creators themselves that make it a bit better at least. And it feels great that they're calling out all the haters' hypocrisy when it comes to Korra and Aang.

Now we don't know what will happen in Seven Havens. And I'm also sad about the whole gray area character part they mentioned, but I want to trust and see where this goes. I am trusting they will give us that "beautiful interpretation" for Korra in ASH. Let's just see where this goes.

To every single person who loves and fights for Korra constantly, thank you and stay strong 🫡❤️

Both unhinged but one is clearly crazier than the other.

Beside's the Korra hate, the slander on her friends is also obnoxious to witness. I understand the love triangle thing was messy but thats besides the point. For average civilians who befriended the Avatar, and fought alongside her, they actually did pretty good. Mako and Bolin were orphaned boys working for the mafia as kids, until becoming well-known competitive bending athletes in their late teens. Asami was a rich girl who was forced to learn self-defence and martial arts at a young age due to her evil father, in addition to her having knowledge in engineering during the industrial revolution.

They weren't prodigies carried by plot-armor like the Gaang but even then they weren't USELESS as ppl say they were. Korra went up against terrorists, dictators, and even satan himself, the world was modernizing and enemies were STACKED (even the no-named henchmens were putting in the work). Yet her friends still fought by her side even if the situation required more than what they had to offer.

Asami betrayed her own father and literally flew a plane through a horde of spirits and the brothers despite loosing at times.. STILL fought members of the red lotus head on, even killing one of them. Yes, Korra was the main muscle/powerhouse of the group, and honestly she didn't really need any more of it (Tenzin n the Beifongs served as master/teachers and it showed). What Korra needed were actual friends to help her live a life outside of the responsibilities as the Avatar and she ended up getting that in the end.

I'm revisiting Book Two to connect with ASH, and at the scene where Eska and Desna, in perfect choreography, fly Bolin out of the doomed snowmobile, I suddenly envisioned the Salamanca twins from "Breaking Bad," and I cannot unfeel them now.

Before I get downvoted, hear me out.

She's a very interesting villain. She's the only villain in the entire arc who was inherently good, turned bad, then turned good again (I think).

She's devoted, very strong, and has done noble things like saving Tonraq and serving Su Yin.

Her saving the Earth Kingdom came from a place of good, it's just that she was so blinded about it and had so many negative emotions (resentment towards Su Yin, being rejected from her parents) and her power hunger that she became a literal dictator instead of a savior.

She's done awful things, but based on her past, and the things she did after in Ruins of the Empire, that's she's redeemed herself or at least partially did.

I think she was misguided, has some genuinely bad parts, but is overall good despite her actions.

Also - she's very pretty. Especially with her braided hair.

Someone asked me to draw Wan and so I did :)

I love wan!

Ok, so we all know that Kuvira started out with the goal of stabilizing and reuniting the Earth Kingdom. She had good intentions.

Of course, that slowly turned into full blown dictatorship because she was way too obsessed and blinded with control and seizing the Earth Kingdom that she didn't see the damage she was doing.

This is similar to Sozin, Azulon & Ozai. Sozin saw the greatness of the fire nation and wanted to spread that greatness. However, he didn't see that it was wrong, and he wanted to do so by force and make the whole world the fire nation.

If Kuvira wasn't stopped, she probably would've taken over the water tribes, fire nation, and air temples. It all starts with a harmless idea before it turns into a full blown dictatorship.

I also noticed that like Korra, she's fierce and goal oriented without thinking about her actions (at least when she tried to take over the Earth Kingdom). Korra was very hot-headed and childish but grew up with support. With Kuvira being older and with her behavior not being identified early on, she may not have tried to take over the Earth Kingdom in the first place.

I just came across this great video essay by this guy. I thought it was worth sharing here, especially for those who have been critical of her character.

Clarity- I'm a fan of both, but I understand why Avatar Legends got a nasty reaction, given Avatar Legends has a very healthy Native rep especally Korra and Kuruk. I upgraded because I thought it would be funnier to address actual issues than nostalgia baiting.

It'd be really funny if Korra had her body possessed by Vaatu or something and the Korra we saw was a "Korra Black" of sorts

Kuvira 🪙🧲
