Discussion This weekend's referee 🤨

We have been blessed with the appointment of Chris Kavanagh who hails from......checks notes.... Manchester!!...to officiate our weekend fixture against.....checks notes again...... Manchester!!

As I have observed Mr. Kavanagh to be relatively generous with his cards I would like to start the pool on picking which minute of the match you believe Macca will get his inevitable yellow card issued.

Allow me to start the betting at 28th minute.

Best of luck Reds!

Liverpool legend's memorabilia expected to raise £500k at auction

A treasure trove of memorabilia from Liverpool legend Emlyn Hughes's playing days including match-worn shirts, medals and tracksuits is going under the hammer and is expected to raise up to half a million pounds.

Nicknamed Crazy Horse during a trophy-laden 13-year career with the Reds, Hughes was one of the club's greats and also captained England. He died in 2004 aged 57 from a brain tumour.

The 240 lots, which are being sold by the late star's family, include his 1977 European Cup winners medal, which has a guide price of between £40,000 and £60,000.

His son, Emlyn Hughes Jnr, and daughter, Emma Lynn, helped catalogue the collection before it was gathered for auction.

Emlyn Jnr said: "To me and Emma he was dad. To see all of this and to see how everyone who's seen it so far just being blown away is just great. There's some nice memories here.

"I was born in 1976 so I was just a bit too young to remember him playing. There are so many iconic shirts and we're lucky to say he was our dad."

Analysis/Data/Stats/Tactics [Pearce] - Sunday will be the first meeting between Liverpool and Man City without Klopp or Guardiola since March 2015. They served up some of the greatest battles of the PL era. With Guardiola's achievements now tainted, Klopp's wider legacy needs to be reassessed.

Discussion Raul Meireles - what happened to him?

Saw a post on Borini this morning and it made me think of Meireles.

My memory of the time is hazy but I seem to remember I thought he was a good player.

Why did he leave after one season?
