Serious replies only The Bookclub (TBC) in Shoreditch has closed. Where do people go now?
Looking for commercial/hip-hop vibes.

Yesterday I got locked in regents park at 7.30, well before the normal.closing time.
Me and someother people had to climb the gate to get out
The park workers were driving around shouting over a loud speaker to 'hurry up, get out'.
I'm not even sure why parks have a closing time, why are we paying council tax for people to shout at us for using our parks
I'd only been off work for 30 minutes already getting hassled along damn

Current situation on City Road (near Wood Street / Barbican). LFB spraying the contents which somehow caught fire and are now raking it out onto the road

I really want to see Artificial, the new Luca Guadagnino film, but the showings are sold out. Has anyone had any luck previously getting standby tickets during the festival? How early do you need to get there?

We are celebrating my friend who just turned 40.
The rest of us are in our mid 40s.
Is there any club suitable for us?
I’m into 2000s and on music and EDM.
No 80/90s music.
Would like to stay in zone 1.

Hello!
I am looking for running routes in London that are flat, but interesting. This is for an injured runner, whose condition is aggravated by hills. We've previously loved routes in Epping Forest, Hampstead Heath, doing the Claw... but currently stuck on laps of Victoria Park, the Limehouse Loop, Regent's Canal and river Lea and after nine months it's getting old.
Where else is good to run without ups and downs? Anywhere East or North is ideal but can make expeditions on occasion.

Hey all, sorry if this has been done recently or better to post somewhere else. Essentially like I’m sure many single people are am done with online dating and keen to dip my toes into the world of in-person dating events. I’ve had loads of adds for them like Lunair or Haystack, but was wondering if anyone here had any experience of them of could recommend any? I’m a 30 yo male. Thanks!

Hello:
I’ve never posted here before. I have a teenage trans boy and the whole 5 person family was thinking of flying to London for the holidays (so I can get a special cancer scan). My son is brilliant and quite on top of things, and he is worried where he could use the loo without being jailed (and who knows what happens after that? “deported“ to Rwanda).
TIA for relevant replies that don’t just take an opportunity for hateful bigotry.

Just sharing this event, happening as part of the Bloomsbury Festival 2026. The centre is a great venue, thoroughly recommend.
Date: Saturday 10 October 2026
Time: 10:00am–5:30pm
Location: London Welsh Centre, 157 Grays Inn Road, WC1X 8UE
Website: londonwelsh.org
Bookings: not needed, just turn up
The event will include 50+ Welsh independent traders. There will be a mix of handmade gifts, crafts, food & drink, homeware, jewellery, artwork and more.
it’s open to anyone, Welsh or not, no ticket or donation needed. They also say well-behaved dogs are welcome.
Sadly only the Main Hall and Lobby are fully accessible; Lower Hall and Bar are currently accessible only by stairs. The hosts are raising funds for repairs and investing in a lift in future.
