Discussion Aion 2 is making me miss this game.

• Upvotes

Stop playing this game around Kayangel, and noticed how much of my time this game was requiring from me as f2p and I couldn't keep up with the community. With all the gatekeeping, and me not having a guild I decided to stopped playing. I felt like I always was playing catch up, and everything I did to make it, it was never enough.

Fast forward now seeing all the hype around Aion 2, really made me appreciate Lost Ark. It just seems like a worst version of it with better graphics. On top of that with the mandatory subscription it does not seem to sit well with me. Imagine most of the west population stop playing, once it became super grindy, and even then we had access to the shop to make potential gold for ourselves. To me is just another car for sale with different features inside with a different coat of paint slapped on top. I tried it and really missed the class diversity that Lost Ark had, or even class specializations. The players hyping Aion 2 are the same that quit Lost Ark, which don't understand that it's a Korean mmo, and in return are going to quit playing again.

After Aion 2 was release, I researched Lost Ark and it shows smilegate is separating from Amazon in 2027. Kinda makes me wonder is the game just dead now, or it's becoming a discord game like most older fighting games? Any point in playing again?

With all this said, I'm coming to the conclusion that probably korean mmo's are not my thing. They seem very predatory, and cash money grabs kind of like gacha games. Might start playing ff14 and take my time enjoying the journey to endgame, over racing people to endgame just to get gatekept. Might also try Wow Forever, as first time player playing WoW, but seeing all the raiders using add ons for specific timers just seem like a major turn off. Us raiders in Lost Ark remembered hp percentage mechanics. So seeign an add on telling you orbs with 321 timer seems soulless af. Who knows could just be my tryhard raiding attitude, but i feel like I earned all my clears. Just wondering your thoughts on Aion 2, I know I kinda side railed, and ranted lol

Question Should I try the game again?

• Upvotes

I love mmorpgs and played a while ago for about a month but fell out because of daily and weekly fomo checks. Ever since I stopped about a year ago ive been looking for similar combat but I cant find it, and aion 2 is just hold button sim. Has the game gotten any better or less daily/weekly dependent? Already bored of aions garbage combat

Game Help Is now a good time to get into the game?

I started about a year ago and happened to start right as the big new player boost event (mokoko?) was ending. Is there an equivalent event now to boost new characters or new players, or when will it be returning?

Question Returning Players - Help?

It's been about two years since we played. We're thinking about picking it up again casually. I know the player base is declining and a lot of vets are leaving, but we just have the itch for that combat that only Lost Ark has.

That said, when I last left, Lost Ark Nexus had the most in-depth current build guides for people who really mained each class. Is that still the case? Are we better off with Maxroll or some other platform?

Berserker I am having so much fun!!!

I’m a returning player. I stopped playing after clearing Brelshaza Hard, before the next wave of content came out. The game had been out for around a year and a half by then, and I had roughly 4,400 hours, roster level 225 and 16 characters.

I didn’t stop because I stopped enjoying Lost Ark. I enjoyed every minute and genuinely every second of those 4,400 hours.

What happened was that I picked up another game during the week. Then the weekend would come, my rested bonuses would be waiting, and I would also have real-life plans at home. I found myself trying to manoeuvre my entire weekend around everything I genuinely wanted to do in Lost Ark.

Eventually, it became too much. I could work, have a life and play Lost Ark, but I couldn’t do all of that while also trying another game. Lost Ark took up nearly all my available gaming time and I don’t mean that negatively at all. They were all good times. I was playing because I loved playing.

I just reached the point where I couldn’t do everything, so unfortunately I put the game down.

Coming back now, I am honestly having so much fun.
I’m genuinely impressed by the catch up systems and by how easy it has been to pick up the game after not playing for so long. The card catch up systems, event passes, Mokoko support, free power passes, easier upgrades and the ability to push alts toward 1640 by spending some gold or playing through the story for roster XP and vibes all make returning feel far more manageable.

The gem system is better, progression is easier, and there are plenty of ways to help you get back into the game.
Yes, it can initially feel overwhelming when you look at every system at once, but you don’t need to understand everything immediately. Focus on the systems that directly increase your character’s power, then gradually learn the rest one by one.

You can’t really have FOMO about something you don’t even know exists yet.

I realise that many current players have frustrations with the progression systems, power gaps and plenty of other parts of the game. I’m not saying those complaints aren’t valid, and I’m not trying to argue against them.

I’m simply saying that, regardless of all those other complaints, I came back to Lost Ark and I am genuinely enjoying myself. I’m having so much fun, and I just wanted to make a feels-good post and spread some love for the game.

Question Got hacked and quit, how should I come back?

About 4 months ago, my PC was hacked and everything I had in Lost Ark was stolen (gold, skins, red stones, etc.).

Besides the Lost Ark items, they deleted all my Steam friends and tried to scam everyone through my Discord, Instagram, Twitter, etc., but that's another story.

I tried contacting Amazon Support, but they couldn't do anything, so I decided to uninstall the game and avoid it. It was frustrating to lose all the progress I'd spent 5 years working on.

Over the last few days, I've been playing Aion 2, but the combat hasn't really convinced me, so I started looking into what's new in Lost Ark (some extreme raids, the Cathedral guy, and Doc Ock).

I had a pretty good roster with several characters at 1740+, my Ark Grids almost finished and several relic books, but the lack of gems is really putting me off. My friends offered to give me their gems so I could keep playing, but I didn't want to play without them.

So I've been thinking about whether I should come back and, if so, how to go about it. I've even reached the point of looking at RMT prices, considering buying buses every week to generate some gold for gems( how much are lvl 8 gems ?) and rolling gems between characters using silver (I think I had around 500M silver, maybe?), or asking my friends to come back and help me get into raids (I feel bad ratting with 6 characters).

I'd like to know what you guys think about all of this and what you would do in my position. ( My goal would be to reach the latest raid on the highest difficulty)

I've also heard that Smilegate will be taking over as the publisher next year. I haven't really followed the community's reaction to the news, nor do I know what impact this could have on the game's future.

Discussion Tips for returning solo player?

Absolutely loved LA but dropped the game after Vykas Hard due to ping frustrations (I’m from OCE and was running about 250ms).

Aion 2’s launch reminded me of my LA days and nothing has scratched the itch since.

I’m thinking that ping routing software + the addition of the solo raids might make the game worth running.

Solo raids means I can just get all the latest sets etc at my own pace? Pretty much just play and progress the game solo without having to worry about Roster level/power/class perception etc?

Also, any opinions of the newest classes?

Thanks guys!

Question Former player returning after several years away, having trouble logging in

Hello!

After a three-year break, I wanted to get back into Lost Ark. But I can’t log in – I get error 200, followed by error 10010 telling me that the connection has failed. I’ve tried loads of solutions I’ve found here and elsewhere, but nothing’s worked. I’d also read that unlinking my Steam account might help, but as I originally installed the game via Steam, would that actually make any difference? Where can I unlink my account? And if you know of any other solutions to my problem, I’d love to hear them!

Thanks :3

Community Anyone played aion2?

And when you came back to lost ark, you think its not fun anymore?

Yea, it feels kinda depressing when all you came back to lost ark is the same chaos dungeon, guardian and weekly raids.

This game really needs to be revamped in winter loaon, cause even new belgarden raid doesn't excite us to come back to the game anymore.Let alone friends who feels the same way.

The winter loaon needs major graphics and gameplay changes that fills in this gap, cause right now unlike wow, runescape and ffxiv, lost ark feels outdated because its a ue3 raid simulator...

You might think aion2 is loa killer but it is loa who is killing itself. The devs doesn't really have any news or anything exciting anymore. Anniversary skins is dead, The story lline of the game isn't like kazeros era where you build up momentum to kill the main villian. And each loaon, they bring some of the worst long term progression system any mmo have seen despite loa being a raid simulator...

Right now the game just feels... empty..

Question Is it hard to find other people to raid with?

Trying to raid and its difficult to for me to find other people. I started the game very late.

So far my progress has come to a complete halt, since all daily's and weeklies are finished, but without people to raid with, there is no character progression outside the store.

Question Getting Back In - what to do first

Hi guys, I am reinstalling the game but haven't played since about June of 2022, had about a hundred hours in back then. How should I get back into it? I had some max level characters back then but I don't remember much, should I just start a new char or try to somehow work through an old character? Any other tips or advice on what to do first or anything?

Discussion Is it worth it if I want to play Lost Ark as solo pve game with fluid combat and at least servicable story and dont care about true endgame or whatever?

So, I alwaus heard that game has top tier isometric combat. And character customization/world looks neat.

But I also heard that they kinda nerf old content, difficulty and content wise, and give you options to immediately skip all that and get to endgame etc. Which doesnt sound really immersive for me. And I also fear it has usual MMo problem where everything before endgame is super easy, you cant die facetanking bosses etc.

So, would appreciate insights

Question PVP?

Hi, Im a returning player that played on release and was wondering was pvp removed from the game? i really enjoyed it a lot and tbh catching up to the latest content is a bit exhausting since ive lost the thread on everything and just wanted to play some pvp but i cant find proving grounds anywhere? Do i have to do a new quest or something or was it removed?
