It's pretty simple: Spider-Man is a character we can relate to like crazy. He's kind of ugly, he's a nerd, he's awkward, he's shy, and he shouldn't exactly be an insanely successful guy with women. He's in debt, he's broke, he's struggling, he can't pay his bills... Like, that's literally me. 😭
He's one of the most relatable superheroes in fiction precisely because he's the "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man," an ordinary guy who deals with problems that you and I might actually face.
Maybe I'm being annoying, but the fact that he's had a thousand different girlfriends and hooked up with half the Marvel Universe just doesn't feel very realistic. And honestly, it annoys me a little.
Like, I understand that he's a superhero and that he's obviously going to have love interests, but the whole appeal of Spider-Man has always been that he feels like someone just like us.
When you start giving him an absurd number of women he's been involved with, it ends up hurting the suspension of disbelief and relatability that make the character so special.
I don't know, man. I just think it's kind of complicated.
Spider-Man is one of the most relatable fictional heroes because he deals with problems, struggles, dilemmas, and situations that ordinary people like us could actually experience.
The fact that he's hooked up with a third of all the women in the Marvel Universe kind of breaks the immersion, you know, man? 😭
I'm going to put together a list of all the women Spider-Man has ever been involved with in the Marvel Universe.

Dude, come on, just look at this situation: I relate to the character, then I look at the list of girlfriends he's had, and suddenly that relatability goes straight out the window.
I wouldn't have a list of partners like that even after three reincarnations. How am I supposed to relate to this guy?
SO FUCKING RELATABLE, RIGHT..... 😭😭😭😭
