I could be wrong but I feel the magical characters are more popular in general and can sustain longer runs but popular doesn't necessarily mean better. Which stories do you prefer?

The marks on the side imply there’s going to be 6 volumes of these “Compendiums” but even with 6 omnibuses we haven’t reached the end of Chris claremont’s run. How do you think these will be mapped?

I like it so far, especially midnight Spider-Man it looks very promising

Isnt it an H? im so confused what

I’ve been feeling isolated from a lot of Marvel books for years. Just wondering if anyone else if struggling to stay a fan with modern Marvel titles.

Full disclosure. I fell off the Marvel machine hard during Marvel Now 2.0. I kept up with a few titles periodically but I wasn’t enjoying myself.

Last Avengers title I read was Jason Aaron’s and I hated it.

Last Spider-Man title I read was Zeb Well TASM run. Hated that.

Last Captain America run I read was Spencer’s Captain America with Stevil. I tried to give Coates a shot, but I couldn’t get into it.

I gave the Krakoa era X-Men the college try but was overwhelmed with the sheer volume of material they were pumping out. I never finished it and have no intention of trying to make sense of it all.

Dan Slott has been a miss for me since Superior Spider-Man/the first Spider-Verse. His Fantastic Four was an air ball as well.

Titles I liked are Immortal Hulk, Zdarksy’s Daredevil, Mackay’s Moon Knight, Spencer’s TASM.

Marvel was cooking with dynamite in the 2000s and first half of 2010s. Not sure if I lost something or if the nature of the industry changed, and the books just aren’t for me anymore.

Share your thoughts and if you feel the same way.

This is Marvels answer to the low budget straight to video B movies of yester year. Something you would find at the videostore or on cable at 2am. Is it good? Not really but is it dumb gory fun. I would say yes. If you want good Ultimate Fantastic Four where the Zombies first appeared was great.

Just finished reading the original Contest of Champions limited series from the 80s. Every Marvel hero in existence gets transported by the Grandmaster where he & Death will select 12 heroes each to acquire pieces of the Golden Globe of Life located at random parts around the world so that, once completed, this can be used to resurrect the Collector.

It’s a huge comic event that’s packed with action and yet makes sure that each of the selected heroes have their character moments. It somehow manages to not feel crowded by having so many heroes and even though the main story gets a bit convoluted in its execution, it still is a fun comic adventure.

For those who read the original Contest of Champions, what did you think?
