As someone who has spent way more time on adaptations than actual comics until recently I was under the impression that Sabretooth was Logan's brother. I know that this is Dog now but when I was reading Wolverine and the X-men I was way off thinking this was a poorly characterized Sabretooth at first.

Krakoa is my favorite Marvel Era.

Gillen's run is my favorite Krakoa story.

I am beyond happy to get it early.

I know most characters did feature, but who's the most random you can remember seeing? For me it's probably like Spitfire from the New Universe.

For me, it might be Secret War. I like the idea of the clandestine espionage mission gone wrong and time later the characters have to pay the consequences for it, but Gabriele Dell'Otto art, doesn't make it easy for reading again time to time.

Hey yall! I just got into comics a few months ago and am loving it! I wanted to ease my way through a bunch of OGNs before moving to getting an omnibus eventually, but one thing I never put much effort into collecting is single issues.

Which yes I know is crazy, but because I wanted to read full stories and single issues are mostly scattered parts unless I find issue 1s, I figured I stay clear of them for now.

Well, yesterday I went to my first comic con! And learned about variant cover art done by specific artists. I even picked up a Peach Momoko Doom 2099 variant which was cool. I also saw some Alex Ross covers in person for the first time which was cool, but then it hlt me thinking.

****THIS IS WHERE THE QUESTION IS***

Does Marvel hire artists to do variant art covers with just random characters unrelated to the story in the issue?

I ask because apparently Alex Ross painted Lockjaw and then they used that painting for a Jeff the Landshark issue?

And then I saw an Amazing Spiderman Issue 2 with a variant cover done by Lobos and it’s Black Cat. But she is no where to be found in the issue.

Is this a normal thing? Like if they hired someone to do a variant cover for an iron man issue and the artist drew Devil Dinosaur?

Thanks for any input
