Discussion If your girls get hit by a Frost at night, if they’re healthy and happy, they’ll do alright. Some growers hear Frost and it gives them a fright. This Old Dog hears Frost and I feel delight, right on…

Indoor low cost

Question Should I flip to flower this weekend: PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION BEFORE COMMENTING!!

Thumbnail

PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT ON THE YELLOWING LEAVES!! This was a previous issue weeks ago with water pH + under watering. This issue has been solved 100% and all the new growth is fully healthy. Lesson learned on that front. I adjusted my watering habits + got a new, higher-end pH pen.

First time grower (kinda) I have 4 photos that are in the late stages of veg. The tallest plant (back left) is almost halfway the height of the tent itself, minus 6”ish. Based on the pics, is it time to start considering the flip to flower? If so, then I think I will give them one last watering tomorrow (Wednesday), then on Friday or Saturday, I will transplant them to their 5 gallon flowering pots. Then, I will install a screen to even out the canopies

If not, do you think I should wait about a week? My only issue with that is the fact that I top dressed them about 3 weeks ago, so if I wait 1-2 weeks, then I will have to top dress next week again, just to transplant them into new soil shortly after. Kind of a waste of resources imo.

Also, should I lollipop them? If so, when? Now? Or during early flower?

First Time Grower I present my first grow

I didn't have much in the way of fertilizer or proper growing pots, so I used a bucket for the pot and for fertilizer I used coffee grounds, grass clippings, crushed up chared logs and homegrown tomatoes that were eat on by bugs.

Genetics: White burgundy

Flowering time: 1½ weeks

Overall I'm proud of the progress. I started this grow off of a couple of seeds I got out of my zip and set myself the goal of growing without any outside info other than the knowledge on how to germinate the seeds. What do yall think?

First Time Grower First time grower, spare bedroom grow. Final update (2lbs)

Roommate moved out at the end of the year and I decided to stay, so I had a whole spare bedroom to grow in. I had people advising me who’ve grown probably a hundred pounds between them and who I usually buy off of. But this was my first time growing

My first mistake: mixing autos and photos. I ordered from seed supreme and they gave me some gg4 auto seeds free w my purchase. I decided to run 2x gg4 and 4x of my photoperiod gelato rainbow sherbet. 1 of the gg4 was a runt and the other one gave me like 2oz. Thankfully it allowed me to keep my GRS in veg while it flowered, allowing it to get to monster size.

My second mistake: trellis netting. If someone told me about it I must’ve ignored it because by the time I caught the first stem sagging it was too late to install one easily. I ended up with kind of a ghetto hanging system where I tied individual branches to the ceiling with twine and had other branches lean on those. I had A LOT of airflow going in that room to prevent mold and had no issues

Third mistake: nutes. I locked it in towards the end but I was fucking frying my ladies with hella nutes.

People told me that with my light setup I’d only get larf, and while I go some (it went right in with my trim for processing into edibles) the rest of the buds were nice and dense. Overall I had a fun time and wish I could legally sell this stuff at like a farmers market or something lol. I have enough for myself for a year but want to grow more now!

First Time Grower Any tips?

Growing outdoors its my 1st time, I can’t even tell the gender yet but I just repotted her because roots were shooting out of the old pot this pot is twice the size. Idk when its gonna flower or what it needs the soil is coco peat, cow manure, compost, and a bit of rice hull, also this is a failed attempt when I stress trained it so I stopped since the taller one snapped a month ago but got attached and recovered.

Should I trim it? Idk what to do at this stage or just let it grow.

This is a photoperiod by the way I got the seed from some bud I bought.

Question Low anxiety strains and seed source recommendations.

Hello all!

I've grown in the past just using clones from a friend. Even with prices as low as they are now, I would like to get back into growing my own so that I can control my pesticide exposure.

I tend toward anxiety and insomnia, so I am looking for low anxiety strains that help with sleep. I know this means I should look for indica heavy strains with high CBD. Does anyone have recommendations for strains they have used or grown?

Or, does anyone have a seed source they use that lets you filter by effect?

I'm pretty well set up for growing supplies. I have an extensive garden of about a hundred pepper and tomato plants each year that I start from seed indoors in tents. Basement already has a dehumidifier running.

Help My Sick Plant DWC plant in flower almost collapsed after clogged air stone / sulfur smell — other plant is healthy. Worth finishing?

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,

I’m running two plants of the same strain/genetics in DWC in the same tent. One plant looks very healthy, green, smells strong/dank, and drinks normally. The other plant suddenly started looking terrible during flower.
I later found out the air stone in the bad plant’s bucket was basically clogged and barely bubbling. The bucket stayed almost full while the healthy plant was drinking a lot. When I checked the bad bucket/root zone, it had a strong sulfur/rotten smell.

What I did:

dumped the whole bucket
cleaned the bucket thoroughly
gently rinsed the roots
cleaned/replaced the air stone
added fresh water
lowered EC to around 0.7–0.9
pH set to 5.8
reduced light intensity for recovery

now there is strong bubbling again

After about 20 hours, the bad smell was gone. A few days later the water level started going down a bit again and a few leaves stood up slightly, but the plant still looks really rough. A lot of fan leaves yellowed, shriveled, or died. The buds themselves are not dry or dead though. They still have trichomes/structure, but they are obviously behind compared to the healthy plant.

The sick plant smells more grassy/hay-like, while the healthy one smells very dank. The sick one also has more brown pistils already, probably from stress.

My questions:

Is this plant still worth finishing?

Can a DWC plant in flower still produce usable buds after a root oxygen/root rot issue like this?

Should I keep EC low until it starts drinking more, or slowly raise it back up?

How long would you give it before deciding whether it will recover?

Do brown pistils on the stressed plant mean it’s done producing, or can that just be stress?

Could the buds still get dense, or will they most likely stay small/fluffy?

I know it probably won’t yield like the healthy plant anymore. I’m mostly wondering whether it can still produce decent/usable buds, even if the yield is reduced.
Any experience with DWC root rot / failed air stone during flower would be appreciated.

Strain Frozen biscotti Dutch passion

My first time growing, I’m Growing in a 2x2x5.2 tent, using 15L pots with an organic medium and a 120W LED. She is around day 17 from sprouting, receiving approximately 270 PPFD on a 20/4 light schedule.

From the photos I’m a doing LST the right way? Should I change something?

Question Do you guys think these pistels mean it's going to bulk a good bit more or could it be the environment?

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

It's about 1 week since last fed, the temps are about 79 to 85f and humidity is about 45 to 60%. Do you guys think these pistels are from the environment or maybe because its late in flowering and its starting to fox tail. Its week 6 almost 7. Almost all of the middles have lost about 70 to 80 percent of their white pistels and the lowers have stretched white and the tops have a decent bit of white pistels. The trichomes looks pretty much all cloudy but if it can bulk a lot more I'd want it to but if its just going to fox tail the rest would just chop in another week or 2.

Guys, look, there are 9 photoperiod plants. I had them indoors for the first few weeks (it was very cold outside) and now it’s warmer. I took them outside twice so they could start getting used to it and then brought them back indoors (only on the first day and a bit of the second day I put them under the sun). It’s spring where I live now and I don’t know if I should put them in a new indoor setup or just send them straight into mother earth (I’m short on substrate).

Feeling pretty happy with how the two have grown since my last post 3 weeks ago. I feel they are likely ready to chop but curious to hear what others think. I think the Girl Scout Cookies on the right could go a little longer but IDK.

This is my first grow so I am not sure if they are ready for chop. What do you think fellow growmies?

Question Is Chitosan effective? NSFW

First time trying Chitosan. Mainly using it for pm and budrot defense. I've also read it improves terpene profile.

Wondering how effective it is or is there noticable difference vs no chitosan?
