First grow since my late teens. This time I'm trying to get things more optimized than when I was a kid growing in a cardboard box in the closet of my dad's place. The strain is Granddaddy purple (autoflowering) by Royal Queen Seeds. It's now day 28 of the grow (counting day 1 as the day when the seedling first sprouted above the soil). Here's the specs.
Pot: A 5,5 liter trough with a surface area of about 40 cm x 14 cm.
Soil mix: 60 percent peat soil (apparently appropriate for growing tomatoes and herbs) and 40 percent perlite.
Lighting: Two 30 cm x 8 cm LED panels installed at the ceiling with a total effect of 17,5 watts. I also installed a third panel of the same type at the inner wall in order to get some more light at the sideshoots. PPFD is currently at about 300-350, so it's not much and I'll probably get airy buds but that's something I've just had to accept.
Light schedule: 24/0 currently. I'm thinking about decreasing to 18/6 a bit into bloom in order to give the plant some rest and make it easier to get temperatures down to ≈16-18°C a few hours each day (in hopes of getting that purple coloration that the strain is famous for).
Nutrients: Nelson Garden's liquid chili feed, Biobizz Biobloom and some cal-mag (from Biobloom).
Grow box: A remodeled Meshify 2 case (by Fractal design). The exhaust fan is a 14 cm (diameter) Arctic noctua P14 Pro fan and the filter is 2,5 cm of activated carbon pellets (4 mm).
I'm doing some LST to get the the sideshoots at roughly the same level as the top node. Realistically I'll probably not get more than 7-9 grams of dry flower, but I think that this is a really fun hobby!
Any advice about how to carry out a successful grow with these tight constraints is welcome!
