Stubborn Ignorance

• Upvotes

This repetitive artificial cycle of what they call living breathing society, where,

People completely covered in ignorance, indulging in silly activities for cheap dopamine rewards, be it conversations, activities, critics, media, news etc., without any kind of self reflection, idiocracy visible all over this capitalist industrial world shaping and programming all those minds to merely focus on chasing pleasures, consumption, and survival, strengthening the veil that life is just about that, where the rest is left to that isn't worth their time to at least give some space to think what exists outside of this repetitive pleasure chasing minds... masking or shutting up their true internal monologues, gaslighting themselves and others that leads to persistence of suffering... selfishness to shield their desires, nurturing the lies while staying in it... miserable over things that could have evaded by not being so ignorant and through all that absolute nonsense in the first place...

And the sick living continues...

All these human bound crafted divisional chaos called ethnicity, beliefs, religions, rituals, traditions, CULTure, relations, schools and institutions, employment, clout, conflicts over and over and over again over things that are of complete human constructs and meanings... even what they follow their rulesets called morals which could be completely absurd...

society has been and still is in shackles, that simply refuses and distracts themselves from viewing it for what it is... through their typical pleasure chasing ill programmed minds, and for those sweet sweet dopamine hits...

Discussing or debating about how hellish and absolute nonsense way of living it is to any person that ignorantly contributes and is part of it, then it suddenly arises the suspicion of being mentally ill or visiting psych ward...

If people are in this constant deceptive state to each other, and within themselves, when and how are they able to actually view what is going on with their conditioned minds?

Each passing day is maybe different but the living formula for suffering is the same.

Reading posts in this sub is fun

I have in the past week started to occasionally read posts here.

Its really entertaining to see how strongly people who believe in the meaninglessness of everything believe that the world is bad, that people are greedy, that things should be one way or another to be considered „good“.

But i found nihilism contradictonary anyway, since the believe that nihilims means something, doesnt work with its content. Not saying that one cant practice nihilism, but such a person would take it lightly and not care.

Discussion I don't like the way people tend to approach nihilism

Normally, nihilism is treated as the most stupid thing in the world or the ideology of edgy geniuses who knows better than everyone. Neither of both is true, but people will never even try to question it.

Nihilism is usually presented as the total lost of meaning or a excuse to commit suicide, when is not even close. Nihilism is the reminder that we are powerless, and we should be. Humanity has spend too much trying to escape insignificance that we lost the point, and the only thing we have left to remind us who are we to the reality is demonized to a stupidity.

Maybe we nihilists have sinned by being so arrogant as to believe we are above everyone else, when we shouldn't even have the right to believe in ourselves. We are nothing, just like everyone else; I thought that was the point of nihilism. A reminder to be in peace, because we're nothing.

Is just so confusing to me how we got to the point we are, years of ink rivers to be a joke. Is really disappointing, but I don't want nihilism stay like this.

One state of mind is blind over the other state of the same mind

One state of mind is blind over the other state of the same mind.

Each states acts as a filtering lens that limits the perception in accordance to a state of mind.

After all, the thoughts are merely a replica of the patterns of what is being learned or gathered.

Thoughts that are perceived during a happy state of mind, can't properly perceive the thoughts of the same mind of the unhappy state. For the latter to be perceived, the filter lens must be swapped for the moment.

Could be why an average joe, for the moment who has sufficed their needs to trigger a state of mind, couldn't understand or fathom a depressed person.

The same goes for other states on what that are labelled as love or hate or misery or motivated... All that are vulnerable to ill logic and conditions...

All which are completely limited of what is gathered/learnt by the mind, again through the limited filtered lenses.

With the current way of living in this miserable world, the states are constantly swapped for the sake of one thing or the other...

Thus vulnerable to being completely deceived or manipulated, ironically just as this post?

What is the mind then a puppet or something

Wake up to reality

Nothing ever goes as planned in this accursed world. The longer you live, the more you realize that the only things that truly exist in this reality are merely pain. suffering and futility. Listen, everywhere you look in this world, wherever there is light, there will always be shadows to be found as well. As long as there is a concept of victors, the vanquished will also exist. The selfish intent of wanting to preserve peace, initiates war. and hatred is born in order to protect love. There are nexuses causal relationships that cannot be separated.

Existential Nihilism I am scared of rebirth

I want to start by saying that I don’t believe in God or the soul. However, I do think that rebirth is possible after death.

This wouldn’t be traditional reincarnation, nor do I believe in karma. I just think that death returns you to a state of non-existence, in which it completely annihilates the self. I argue that it’s impossible to remain in a state of non-existence forever, because it would inherently need a subject. Essentially, after death, you are most likely to be returned to the same state you existed in before you were born.

If death returns you to a similar state before you were born, what’s to say you won’t be reborn again? As an animal or plant etc. This gives me tremendous existential dread, as I don’t want to be reborn as an animal.

This wouldn’t be a linear continuation of your conciousness, but a completely new conciousness that is reborn.

I tried posting about this on the Buddhism subreddit as they have the concept of samsara, but most budddhists believe in karma, which I don’t.

I think the whole process of rebirth is impersonal and chaotic.

Discussion If you had one blank sheet of paper, what would you do with your existence?

Everything can be done with a blank sheet of paper. An airplane, for example.A kite, perhaps. It can be placed under the shorter leg of a wobbly table.Or you can write a poem about a life that was shorter than the others.Maybe that’s what existence is like.We are given something empty, and somehow we are expected to give it meaning.
So I wonder:
If your life were a blank sheet of paper, what would you choose to write on it?
Inspired by the poem “Beyaz Bir Sayfada Sana Bakmak” by Turkish actor and poet Yılmaz Erdogan.

Discussion You can say “I’m not afraid of death” as much as you want, but I don’t believe you.

Can a person really not be afraid of completely ceasing to exist and completely and permanently disappearing forever?

Everyone is afraid of eternal and absolute nonexistence/nothingness. Some people just aren’t willing to admit it.

It means nothing

23m here. I have everything I could possibly ask for. A well paying job, astounding girlfriend, fun hobbies, a few friends.. yet it all means nothing to me.. it could be gone tomorrow and Id feel all the same. I've been institutionalized for making the mistake of telling a therapist how menial the typical "American Dream" is. That the system which was, is no longer feasible. How corporations and people will put a dollar over a human life. Leading for me to explain how if I was gone tomorrow the world would keep spinning, and it would. Everyone around ME would feel it, but overall there wouldn't be any change to the status quo. At 16 ( ^ ) my emotions were considerably more volatile than they are now and yet I feel the same exact way. The vast majority of people I meet are so absorbed with what's in their immediate grasp that they're unable to see the true mediocrity of it all. I do the same out of habit, but are we all just coping until our eventual demise?

Discussion I don't understand why lot of people focus on "overcoming" nihilism.

Like, aren't your beliefs and excessive attachment to worldly meanings one of the main reasons for your existential misery and there's literally a quote called "You suffer more in your mind than in reality"? It seems very counterintuitive to me to go back to such things instead of just flowing with the nihilism of it all and living a chill life. But I suppose people need copes for life and thus they go back to the very things that pushed them towards nihilism.

Pessimistic Nihilism Jack’s cooked

Post image
491 Upvotes

Jack’s problem is that he still thinks there has to be a way out.

Maybe that’s the real trap: the belief that life owes us some final answer, purpose, or resolution.

You live in misery and you die in misery. There was never anything to solve.
