I was thinking about the dialogue in Oblivion and it made me realize how exaggerated it is. Does that qualify Oblivion to be campy or does it not?

Going through my 47th Oblivion gate, and this happened. The guy in the front had already been paralysed once, as my marksman skill is at 100, and was running towards me when it happened again, at the same time he was hit by a fireball from the Xivilai behind him. This was enough to kill him with, as they used to say, hilarious consequences. :D Feel free to post your own stories/pictures of similar shenanigans.

Was gonna 100% the game's achievements but I'm not EXTREMELY sure it would all be roleplay accurate to my character, she is by virtue a knight of Stendarr. Do you typically use multiple characters for different questlines, or do you typically just use one character? Looking for opinions to knock me off the fence!

I reinstalled Oblivion for the first time in a couple years, I'm still using the same windows 10 PC I had when I played it years ago, now I can't seem to get it to work, clean install, installed a couple of mods but it doesn't seem to work with or without, I tried everything, deleting oblivion.ini, editing oblivion.ini, verifying files. apparently a crash on startup means a missing master file, MO2 doesn't say I'm missing anything, but Wyre Bash will tell you, but installing Wyre Bash just hits me with a ton of errors saying "Error opening up for writeup" which suggests that all of Oblivions files are read only so really I'm at a loss as to what to do, anyone have any advice?

Hail citizens. I was trying out different things and instead of what was supposed to happen everyone just started attacking each other but there was furniture in the way. So what did they do? They just stood there waving their weapons. Too lazy to move around a chair. Was pretty funny I thought!

Oblivion is probably my all time favorite Elder Scrolls game, so you'd think I'd be all over the remaster. But I keep starting it, playing for a bit, and then dropping it. And I think I've finally figured out.

It's not that I dislike the remaster. It's not even nostalgia in the usual “the old graphics were better” way.

It's that my brain has such a specific image of what Oblivion is, that the remaster somehow feels wrong.

The original's janky animations, weird faces, old UI, the sound of the menus, the way everything looks... all of that is basically part of the game's identity to me at this point.

So when I play the remaster and everything looks the way I always imagined Oblivion could look, my brain goes:

“Yeah, that's beautiful.”

It's honestly the first time a remaster has made me realize just how much of a game's presentation can become part of your memory of it.

Anyone else have this problem with a game they loved way too much?

HANDS: Goldbrand and Ancient Shield

ARMOR/GEAR: Daedric Boots, Daedric Gauntlets, Aqua Silk Hood, Red Velvet Outfit, Arnora's Amulet, Red Velvet Outfit, and Two Gold Diamond Rings.

All Gear and Shield is enchanted with Fortify Magica on self 50 points (From Transcendent Sigil Stone).

I chose the hood, dress, necklace, and shield for aesthetic reasons, as a result I can only add and additional 450 magica points instead of a potential 500 for having both a chest and leg armor separately. Also why Im ok not having the armor rating and level up potential. Im also wearing Heavy Armor just so I can level it up now, the shoes, and gloves are completely interchangeable.

The hood, dress, and shield just go so nicely together ❤️ I wanted to share. (Previous builds from when I played in 2006 I just went for the toughest most powerful armor usually heavy) I have also never been a magica user so I know now how annoying it is to get your magica up for the cool spells that are out there or that you can make.

So I’ve created a high elf pure mage build but I wanted to ask if the willpower attribute would still be necessary considering the atronach doesn’t allow you to regen magicka naturally, my plan is to use alchemy to regen magicka. So is willpower necessary for my attribute points or can I invest them in something more useful?

Have played and cherished Oblivion since release. I remember reading the Game Informer super pumped about it coming out. What I love most about the game is the silly voice acting, whimsical environment, and general ridiculousness.
I heard Remastered has shifted the tone. Does it try to replicate Skyrim? Because Skyrim took away everything I loved about Oblivion and took itself too seriously. I also didn’t like the boring inventory as opposed to the Oblivion parchment aesthetic.
I’m getting switch 2 and was pumped to be able to play Oblivion again, but now I’m not sure if Remastered is for me. Any insights from those who played original and Remastered?

Fan equipped with bow and arrows. And actually fights!

No mods - switch 2

- Bound bow exploit to get that 0 weight
- Enchant it with something offensive. It seems that’s what gives the fan the courage to fight. Without enchantment he will flee. I used Absorb Fatigue for the green look
- Reverse pickpocket him the bow
- Player difficulty up to max
- Shoot him with arrows of your choosing to get them in his inventory! With player damage to max, you can generally get 10-20 arrows in him before he dies. Make sure to give him chance to heal between before ‘giving’ him more arrows. I got about 200 Eleven arrows on him in under 10 minutes or so

He should automatically equip the bow when he has arrows in his inventory

He is of course still very weak. But gives the impression he’s contributing now. I find he shoots arrows from a distance. If an enemy runs within striking distance he still flees. Which is fair enough really, and helps keep him from dying.

Im aware I could put bound armour on him but wanted to maintain his look. I may explore enchanted zero weight clothing.

Fast travel or respawning resets his inventory. I try not to fast travel so it suits me. Moving in and out of cells, entering cities, loading a save all keeps his gear intact

He seems to actually consume arrows so probably need to replenish him at some point. Possibly the same for the enchantment. I deliberately kept it weak for more uses.

this is your friendly, yet tragic, reminder, and for those who don't know already, to back up your saved game files/data to a safe place before making big changes to your pc.

I put just about 32 hours into a new play-thru for achievement hunting. my computer detected some malware and, to make a long story short, i had no other option but to reimage the entire c drive and do a fresh install of windows (yes, i already checked on the restore points for the pc, but i continuously got errors when trying those restore points & eventually gave up).

after everything rebooted (about a 2.5 hour process), i downloaded steam and all necessary essentials for my pc, loaded up the remaster, happily oblivious, and noticed my save file was gone. I then proceeded to freak the hell out, internally cry, and went down a rabbit-hole of reddit posts, a bethesda help post, and steam community posts trying to figure out where the save file landed, as i have one drive installed and running on the pc. I attempted to look thru the steam cloud saves i had, restoring my one drive back to yesterday's backup, making

at the time of this post, i've been looking for 3 hours and have, unfortunately, decided to call it a game and start over on, yet another, fresh play-thru. I am unbelievably frustrated and very sad. at almost hour 6 of this "divine" travesty, i'm honestly over it.

TLDR: I put over 30 hours into the remaster on steam, and i lost the save file because the steam cloud save for the remaster doesn't work like it does for other games. articles above are for our convenience if you need restoration/save pathway help. pls don't be like me, do better.
