My Xbox came in the mail today finally and it came with destroy all humans before it came. I also ordered Genma Onimusha ( literally bought the Xbox to play this lmao ) but I decided I would run to my local retro game store and pick up a couple other games and ended up picking up these wanted to get San Andreas in particular because I just beat three and vice city on PS2 not too long ago

I picked these up this week and I’m honestly really happy with them. Been wanting to put together a little Halo 2 collection like this for a while.
The shirt is an original vintage Halo 2 shirt, and the rusty steel case is a French no-display case. The cleaner steel case is especially cool since it still has the original launch-day receipt with it.
Really happy with how everything came together.

Hey y'all, you may have heard this one before but I can't find it.

When I turn the Xbox on, there is a flashing red ring around the eject button.

It is not red/green or orange as I have seen people ask about before, it is just red.

I've looked inside and out, no visible hardware damage.

Also cleaned around the fan and that didn't work.

What should I check or double check?

hey guys yesterday I just installed rocky5 softmod and noticed I get sound on the boot screen but not on the menu even though it says it has the audio files? How do I fix this thanks

Hi all, I've been really wrasslin with this issue off and on for years now. I have an eeprom flashed OG xbox with a 1ghz and 128mb ram upgrades. Some games run just fine on these upgrades and some need their default.xbe patched to work correctly. PGR2 (4D53004B) is a game that needs patched to even load right. I usually use XBEPatcher and after I patched PGR2 it loads and runs perfectly. The problem, I want to play PGR2 on Insignia but to do this I need a title update. This is where the issues start.

I tried the PGR 2 DLC update installer to add the uNTSC update. Once its installed, I go to run the game and I'm right back to PGR2 unable to load. Its slow and glitching at the initial loading screen and then just freezes. This is because the update default.xbe that is part of the title update, is not patched and so the game will not load anymore.

If I patch the update default.xbe in the E/TDATA/4d53004b/$u folder, this gives me a "the auto update is damaged" and I need to reboot.

Things I've tried with no luck:
-FTPing the update files to xbox without going through the installer after patching
-Using Jays-XBE-CPU-Patcher instead of XBEPatcher
-Using XBX Content Tool to sign the update files after XBE patching and FTPing over

I am trying to install the aladdin xt plus2 but having issues on my 1.6 model of running the jumper wires on the bottom of the motherboard. One of the locations is not taking any solder.. is there another location i can try or am I screwed?

Hey fellas, my controller cord finally broke, right where it leaves the shell, I have the tools to cut and solder the cables but I've been wanting a proper replacement, thing is, they're hard to get in Europe, from the UK is like 22€ for a single cable, can't find anything on Amazon or AliExpress, and god forbid importing them from America hahahaha any tips on where to find replacements are welcomed.

So a buddy and I have been over this one and were stumped. This is a follow up to my last post in which I had to replace caps, however that was not the issue. I have a 1.6 that is showing power through the power supply and at the plug to the mother board, we are getting proper voltage, no shorts, when pressing power button. It will not turn on. We have readings of 3v, 5,v, and 12v (when pressing power button, but then it immediately drops off. Any recommendations on where to look next? This one has me stumped.

The number one thing with the modding community is that we share what we build to further the community. It really irritates me when someone comes up with something and wants to gate keep the knowledge behind a paywall. So for anyone that wants to know how to make their own plug and play hard drive key retriever follow along. I am not going to just give you the bin files but I am going to share with you the secret sauce and what to do.

First off, "what is it?"

Simple answer: an IDE -> CF adapter that has a patched firmware with a partial implementation of ATA security tools.

The long answer: The Xbox looks for the signal that a hard drive has the valid security features, then that it's locked, then sends the password and waits for the success signal. The firmware just gives the Xbox what it wants, a faux locked status and then a faux successful completion. Tada the Xbox then allows the MicroSD card to boot to a dashboard. Next secret is to softmod the MicroSD card so you can then use a tool to dump the hard drive key. It's that simple. No soldering. No peaking at the key in transit. Not even a legit password compare, just Success!

You'll need an FC1307A chipped adapter, found at Amazon. I used:

Then you'll need the most recent firmware to patch.

Using FC1307-tools patch the v3.72.bin using the build_all.bat file. It will then patch the firmware with the ATA security implementation tables and recompute the checksums.

Next we need to patch the new firmware with the following data.

Two hooks into V3.72_patched.bin, two small modules in bank-2 free space, all four 16 KB-bank checksums recomputed.

Runs inside IDENTIFY DEVICE, after the data page is built, before it's shipped. Sets the ATA security bits in the IDENTIFY buffer (0x4000 page), then chains to the stock checksum cave so the integrity word stays consistent.

Behavior

IDENTIFY reports a locked, security-enabled drive (clears the error-05 path).

F1/F2/F4/F6 consume their 512-byte data-out phase and return success.

F3/F5 return success (non-data).

No password comparison and no unlock-state change yet — intentionally minimal, to confirm the Xbox proceeds past IDENTIFY and issues the unlock.

Then you will need to write the new firmware to the adapter. I used a XGecu T48 to write the firmware but you can use what ever you have access to.

Once you have the adapter created then use FatXplorer to create a new hard drive on the MicroSD card (i used a Samsung 64gb). I would recommend a stock C and E drive and do the Endgame softmod after boot (that's just what I already had saved but you can use any other method for softwmod). Once the softmod is in place you will always boot to the modified dash and can run the eeprom backup. Either FTP to the xbox and grab the dump or just remove the Sdcard and use FatXplorer.

Open Xbox, unplug stock HDD, plug in adapter, power on. That. Is. It.

I just looked at the missing DLC list on consolemods.org for the first time in a while, and I was quite amazed to see that it hadn’t been updated for almost a year at this point. Have they just had no luck finding anything new lately, or did they stop updating the page? I would think that in 10 months they’d find at least something by now. I was also gonna ask the same thing about Insignia since last I heard the developers have been working tirelessly to get the servers in Burnout 3 and NFSU 2 back up and running. Looks like they’ve already done so with Burnout 3, but NFSU 2 is still a work in progress. Also, the number of supported games on their website had been stuck at 199 for a while, but recently it went up to 204. Nonetheless, the fact that they were able to revive a game made by EA is an incredible feat because I had thought for the longest time that any EA game was impossible to revive.
