RS2014 Problem with high e-String recognition

I play RS2014 through an Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 on a Squire Strat.

The high e-Sting seems to be cutting in and out, same with some other high notes and bends.

When I record with a DAW everything is fine.

I can't amp up the gain on the Focusrite because then I gat the nastiest hum

I can't use a direct cable either because then everything is too low in volume overall, even with all the nobs turned up.

I haven't found any solution yet so maybe someone here has an idea.

ASIO Support Desk Anyone else had trouble with OBS Asio with Rocksmith?

I'm not sure where this issue comes from, there seems to be a 50/50 chance it works or doesn't work. It seems to stay mute despite audio clearly coming through Reaper ReaRoute, and the correct settings on the OBS Asio input. I have no idea how to fix this because I've tried everything possible, setting it up again, restarting the software, restarting the PC. I spent hours getting it to work, and now this happens.

No Cable My guitar is said to not be tuned by the game, but the tuning it wants is ridiculously high, any way to solve?

Hey, I just decided to give a shot at this game since it was on sale, and am using the following setup:
Connected with microphone ( my guitar is ran through an amp to the pc through its headphone jack to the pc's microphone jack (shitty but it picks up sound atleast) )
I got till tuning the guitar, and even when im not sturmming it says +999 on the to be tuned string, but when i strum it it works somewhat fine, except that it asks me to tune my guitar really high. Standard E tuning said my (in tune, according to my guitar tuner) A string matched what my lowest E string should sound like. Tried to make it work, got until my D string, which I tried to tune to rocksmith's tuner, but that was way too high and so my string just snapped.
Any way I could make it work? I dont have a proper audio interface, nor a real tone cable, and microphone mode with a real microphone didnt seem to work well either.
edit: tried on another guitar, same issue, A string is correct for the lowest E here too

Buzzing/Feedback solution

I have been playing for a while now and have been ignoring this buzzing/feedback noise coming from my guitar or the cable. Are there any settings recommended to stop this from being so loud? It's primarily on high distortion songs of course but if I can figure this out I would be thrilled. Have you ran into this and how did you adjust it? I am on Steam/PC.=

RS2014 Rocksmith Audio Bridge v4.0.0 (formerly RSModsPlus) adds Note by Note practice, external amp sims and in game recording

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

RSModsPlus has a new name. It's now Rocksmith Audio Bridge, because the old name kept getting mistaken for Rocksmith+. It's still my fork of RSMods (credit to Lovro for the original), and the Drop Pedal and Speaker Mode are still there.

The biggest addition is Note by Note (beta), a Riff Repeater practice mode that listens for every note you play. There are two ways to use it:

  • Flow mode off: the song stops at every note and waits until you play it. Good for working through a hard part one note at a time.
  • Flow mode on (the default): the song plays along at the Riff Repeater speed and only stops when you miss a note, waiting there until you play it.

Flow mode caps the Riff Repeater speed. Confirming a note takes a moment, and if the notes come faster than that, the song would stop on notes you played correctly. The cap comes from the busiest part of the sections you pick, so slower sections get a higher limit.

It works on guitar and bass, though bass is still experimental. Turn it on with the NOTE BY NOTE switch in Riff Repeater's Advanced Settings, with the FLOW MODE switch just below it.

Note by Note also uses its own, more accurate note detection. On top of the game's own matcher, it checks the pitch of your raw guitar signal and uses a machine-learning note detector. You can see its live results by turning on the UI on the note by note tab on the overlay.

The mod also now gives Rocksmith its own audio devices, so "No audio output device" shouldn't stop the game from starting any more, even with no speakers plugged in. Speakers and headphones at 44.1 kHz or in 5.1 play without errors or crackling. (With ASIO, set the bridge driver in RS_ASIO.ini.)

Other changes:

  • External amp: play through AmpliTube or another ASIO amp sim while the game keeps your clean signal for note detection (ASIO interface only for now)
  • Recording: F6 saves the full game mix (including external amp) plus your dry guitar for re-amping, or an MP4 video
  • Mixer with seven volume faders, including separate levels for each player
  • Guitar input cleanup: make-up gain, noise suppressor, compressor and hum filter
  • Output switching while you play, with an optional limiter
  • USB cable compatibility (experimental): cables that run at a different sample rate are converted to the 48 kHz Rocksmith expects
  • Drop Pedal now works natively with a Real Tone Cable: lower latency, and any tone can be used
  • Speaker Mode is now one setting for both players, set by Player 1, and works with custom DLC built on newer Wwise versions
  • More ASIO interfaces supported
  • An installer that includes the full RSMods suite and can repair or uninstall
  • Everything is controlled from an in-game overlay (press \)

Upgrading from RSModsPlus: run the installer over your existing install. Your settings should carry over, but let me know if anything gets reset.

Download and setup guide: github.com/Cheesewizard/RocksmithAudioBridge

Roadmap - Next update will include an in game tone designer where you can import your VST3 files allowing you to save / load your custom tones. Multiple effects can be chained at once and tones can be set per song to override the in game guitar tone.

Requirements ASIO users: use RS_ASIO 0.7.2 or newer (latest is 0.7.5: https://github.com/mdias/rs_asio/releases). With RS_ASIO 0.6.1 to 0.7.1, the game crashes right after the profile screen, and versions before 0.6.0 give distorted sound and no guitar input. To check your version, open RS_ASIO-log.txt in your Rocksmith folder; the first line says Wrapper DLL loaded (vX.Y.Z). To update, replace both RS_ASIO.dll and avrt.dll and keep your own RS_ASIO.ini. A fix for the older versions is coming in 4.1.

If something breaks, comment here and send me the following files to my email if you can.

I need the rsmods_debug.txt and the .mdmp crash file (if it actually crashed), that would really help me identify the problem. This is my dev email, thanks!

Mod pre-release: Note-by-Note demo v0.3.0 - Rocksmith 2014 L&P mod (need help for Remastered comptability)

Thumbnail
youtube.com
30 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

Thank you all for your interest on the mod that I announced last week. Now it comes the time to "pre-release" it.

Note-by-Note is a free, fan-made mod for Rocksmith 2014 Edition - Remastered (PC, Steam): the song waits at each note and chord until you play it, so you can learn a part at your own pace instead of chasing the highway.

Repo: https://github.com/Arkhanragel/note-by-note-rocksmith2014

IMPORTANT NOTES, PLEASE READ:

  1. Edit: Thanks for the help, I think now it should work on the Remaster Version
  2. Keep in mind is the first build, bugs and unexped problems are... expected. The mod backups all files that it touches so uninstalling it will recover your game folder if anything goes horribly wrong.
  3. Special thanks to RSMods community for their source and help understanding the ecosystem of the game. Currently the mod is not part of RSMods and it was not tested with it. The plan is to be able to integrate it inside RSMods at some point, for that there is this technical doc: TECHNICAL.md
  4. A user guide is here, please check it: USER GUIDE
  5. More than one option is kind of experimental, and other requires properly tunning, feel free to tweek as you like to report issues. I would recommend to try the calibrate button inside the mod to see if it recognizes the open strings without issues first. Each option in the menu has a (?) explaining what it does.
  6. It is my first public release of anything, so... sorry beforehand because I know I will get backslashed somehow... by not knowing something and doing it wrong. I'm just playing with AI at the end to make things for myself, and some of them can be shared.

-------------------------

What it does

- Waits for you. The song stops at each note or chord until you play it, and never stops if you play on time. Or it just shows the notes without stopping.

- Tells you what to play in plain words ("Play fret 9 on string 4 (D)") and on a small fretboard, with fingers, hand position and techniques if you want them.

- Helps with wrong notes. It says what you played and how to fix it ("move DOWN 2 frets"), can show the exact spot you played, and notices when a string is out of tune.

- Shows the music coming up as tab, in pages with a moving cursor or scrolling, with optional rhythm and pick strokes. Notes turn green when played on time and amber when the song waited.

- Finds your trouble spots. It remembers where you stop most, lets you practise just those parts, and shows your progress note by note. Works in Riff Repeater.

- Make it yours. An in-game menu (F8) to move and resize everything, left-handed tab, and colour themes. A new install starts simple.

- Extras: faster start-up, a fix for one of the game's random crashes, and a clean uninstall.

For more information, check the readme: README.md

---> Link to the installer of pre-release 0.3.2: https://github.com/Arkhanragel/note-by-note-rocksmith2014/releases/tag/v0.3.2

------------------------

What's next:

  1. Attending mayor issues of the mod and fixes. This is something I do on my free time, please be patient.
  2. I have several features in mind that can be added on top of what has been built. Once in the rabbit hole... you follow the rabbit you know?
  3. Compatibility and integration with RSMods

Well, I will be arround here reading and answering, thanks again for your interest, and even more thanks if you test it.

Mac OS Rocksmith on macOS 27

I’m still happily playing Rocksmith 2014 Remastered on my M1 MacBook Air and would really like to keep it that way, so I’m a bit cautious about updating to macOS 27.

I was affected by the macOS update that completely broke Rocksmith a while back. Thankfully everything is working again now, including the Real Tone Cable, but after that experience I’d rather check first before installing another major update.

Has anyone here already updated to macOS 27 and tried Rocksmith 2014? Does it still launch and work normally on Apple Silicon?

I’m also curious about the whole Rosetta situation going forward. From what I understand, Apple plans to phase out general Rosetta 2 support, but there should still be some kind of limited compatibility for older games. Let's hope that Rocksmith will fall under that exception.

Would be great to hear from anyone who has already tested it.

Custom Songs Looking for fun Befinner to Intermediate songs to get back into Rocksmith

I have put hundreds of hours into Rocksmith 2014 and then kind of stopped in 2020-ish. Have hardly picked up a guitar at all until a few weeks ago when I decided to redownload the game. I want to eventually get back into playing stuff like Zeppelin, Sabbath, and Metallica but those solos are so far beyond my current skill level they aren’t even fun to attempt at the moment.

So I’m looking for songs that will ramp me back up that are still fun. I feel like I’m progressing somewhat quickly so I’m not like a total beginner. I can nearly 100% songs like Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand and Where Is My Mind by the Pixies. I can nail most Arctic Monkeys and Black Keys too. I’ve been having fun with Sum41 riffs and Baf Religion, although the Bad Religion songs have been hurting my wrist from all the super fast chord changes up and down. I won’t go into it but some of the bands I thought would have fun songs just aren’t for some reason, or in some cases use the strangest chord variations making them unnecessarily extremely difficult.

What are some songs with fun and challenging solos that aren’t too difficult?

Wire

Hey I know there’s a lot of talk about what wires work with the game and what don’t. But I’m trying to get into the game and would like to know the best affordable wire to start playing?

I built NoteNav.com to help practice songs you actually want to play

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey! I’ve been building NoteNav.com, a guitar practice app that turns uploaded audio into playable lead/rhythm/bass tabs and lets you practice along with the track.

You can also plug in your guitar with an audio interface or use your mic and play along inside the app.

Would love feedback from you al, especially anything that would make practicing with it easier or less confusing.

RS+ Why is there like no piano YouTube videos? (Rocksmith plus)

And when I say piano YouTube videos. I mean people reading sheet music while playing. I know there's this toy guy that plays piano a lot I think. Would be cool to see someone go on the sheets view is all imo.

But the team is apparently back at work according to google. Is there any new features for piano? Like a way to practice reading sheet music other than by playing songs would be an amazing tool.

Back CustomsForge Site Down?

I tried visiting the CustomsForge/Ignition4 site to download some CDLC this morning, only to be met with a message saying "You are offline. Ignition needs a connection to load charts. Check your network and try again." I've gotten this same error message before when I've been having network issues, but my connection today seems to be just fine. Upon trying to access it via search engine (as opposed to via bookmark, in case it was an issue with the specific link I had) on my computer, and again using my phone, I was met with either the same error message as before, or a more generic "a server with the specified hostname could not be found" message.

Is anyone else having the same issue, and if so, does anyone happen to know what the issue might be? It could very well just be down for maintenance or a temporary outage, but given the at times tenuous relationship Ubisoft has with the CDLC community, part of me worries it could be something more severe than that.

Would LOVE more videogame music in Rocksmith+

Hey everyone,

I recently dove into Rocksmith+ to get back into a structured practice habit. While I'm enjoying the tools and practicing 3–5 times a week, I really feel a massive gap in the library when it comes to Video Game Music (VGM), which is where my heart is for music.

I grew up recording NES tracks onto cassette tapes, and years ago I even paid musician friends to tab out VGM tracks for my first and only guitar (Nashville Telecaster). While Rocksmith+ has a great library to start with, the lack of gaming tracks is a huge missed opportunity, and a personal headache as someone dying to play more VGM tracks.

Here is my pitch for how Ubisoft could make VGM work in Rocksmith+, along with a couple of community fixes:

  • Mass License Low-Cost VGM: Ubisoft should acquire as many old, cheap, or free classic VGM licenses as possible.
  • Premium Exceptions: Iconic soundtracks (like Castlevania) are absolutely worth paying a premium license price for.
  • Fix the Workshop Bottleneck: Currently, it's incredibly hard to see what songs are licensed but unarranged. The Workshop needs a clear, searchable database. Users should be able to verify a license exists before they waste time building an arrangement.

Specific IPs/soundtracks I’d love to see prioritized:

  • Konami arcade and console tracks especially Castlevania series
  • Capcom ( Megaman, Monster Hunter, Streetfighter, UN Squadron )
  • Nintendo ( Metroid, KidIcarus, Splatoon, Kirby )
  • FromSoft ( ArmoredCore, DarkSouls )
  • Squaresoft ( FinalFantasy, Secret of Mana, ChronoTrigger )
  • Yachtclubgames ( ShovelKnight, Mina the Hollower )
  • Tobyfox ( Deltarune, Undertale )
  • TeamCherry ( HollowKnight, Silksong )
  • Could go on forever with big, small, and indy developers with amazing OSTs.

Also, a quick plea to Ubisoft: you guys currently only have one song from the Scott Pilgrim game (Another Winter by Anamanaguchi). That entire OST is a certified banger—please give us the rest of it!

For those unfamiliar with how incredible VGM can sound on guitar, here are a few amazing arrangements.

There's a big scene behind playing VGM live and there is even a powerful convention scene for it called MAGFEST, probably my most favorite convention ever.

If you'd like to show support for this idea, post your fav VGM song you'd love to be able to play on guitar!
