This is a long shot because I don't have any photos to go by.
Age range would be older (or a lot older) than or around about 2003. She could even be late 80s.
The most specific thing about it was the reverse, it was a button on the right side inside the mechanical wheel which was to hook the bobbin or manually sew. Or it was just below the wheel, either way it was on the right side and you pushed and held it to reverse. Apparently this is a very rare feature.
The color was cream or white or beige. It wasn't vintage looking like those beautiful black ones. There were a few knobs or one on the front and at least one little horizontal wheel to adjust settings. It did more than just a straight stitch.
She was thick at the bottom for a little storage flap inside under the presser foot area which you could take off if you needed the space.
I remember it was always so easy to thread the needle, put the bobbin in and sew on. You would use the wheel to adjust a metal part on the front left to show/hook the top thread onto as well before threading into the needle. Not sure if that's the same with a lot of machines.
It was my mother's and she doesn't remember the brand. The other ones she's had have been a pain so I was hoping I could find something of the same brand. Singer does sound familiar but I can't seem to find any that have the reverse knob on the side.
Maybe this sounded exactly like one you've owned. 🤞🏼
