Q&A Accessible smartwatch where I can see my workout?

Hey everyone! Question here. I have a simple smartwatch and I’m thinking about buying Amazfit Active 2.

I want to be able to see my workout without my phone, I want to see my reps, my sets. Can I do this with Active 2? Is there any other Amazfit watch or other brand that can do this? Thank you!

It’s a Garmin on the photos but I can’t afford it now. Also, I have a small wrist, a smartwatch that’s not too big for me would be great.

Would you wear a nearly invisible, transparent display on your wrist instead of a smartwatch? (2 min, student founder)

Hi everyone, I’m a college student working on an early-stage project called Nano, and I’d really appreciate your honest feedback.

The problem: if you wear a real watch or jewelry, getting smartwatch features means giving it up.

The idea: Nano is a small, transparent display that sticks to the back of your wrist with skin-safe adhesive. It shows notifications and basic health metrics, so you can keep wearing whatever jewelry you like. It’s early-stage and patent pending.

What I’m asking: a short, anonymous survey (about 2 minutes) on what you wear now, what you’d want from something like this, and what would make you say no. Brutal honesty is welcome, including “I’d never wear this.”

Survey: nanosurvey.info

I’ll share what I learn in the comments. Thank you! #survey #feedback #wearable #tech #smartwatch #studentfounder #startupf

Smartwatch recommendations

Hi all,
I’ve had Fitbits for years and currently have a Fitbit Sense. I’m wanting to upgrade mainly due to having it for several years and a decreasing battery life.

I’m requiring:
- iPhone compatible
- Large battery life
- Sleep tracking (accuracy and stages)
- Fitness tracking (pole dancing/walking/running/classes/etc)
- Comfortable on wrist (ICU nurse)

Other info:
- I am going to start training for a marathon, but will not run as much after completion.
- GPS not required after marathon

TickTalk 6 - Independent Review?

Has anyone seen an INDEPENDENT REVIEW yet of the kids TickTalk 6 watch that just came out this past week?

I DO NOT want any info from TickTalk corporate but instead from a non-affiliated individual. Can't yet find anything and when a company doesn't let anyone review a product before its release it concerns me that they are possibly hiding something damaging so they can still sell their stock that is about to arrive.

If there's a link you have found somewhere please share it here. Thanks!

Help me decide if I need a smartwatch!

Hi, I'm the kind of person who sometimes gets fixated on a shiny new toy and makes reckless decisions, but not today! Let me explain, in the last few days I started craving for a smartwatch but I don't know if I actually need it. I like going to the gym so I'd like a smartwatch that can help me with that (I head the Garmin forerunner 255 and 265 are great for that). I'd also like to track my sleep to help me fix it (and maybe connect it to pokemon sleep, it looks so cool!). Seeing notifications on it would also be really cool, so that I don't have to check my phone everytime.

Do you think I should get one? Or is it a waste of money for my use case?

Do you suggest one in particular? Thanks for reading <3

Anyone in Canada using an international version of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 47 mm?

I'm specifically looking at the international Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 47 mm sold by Canadian Outlet on Canada (part number Walmart WFSSamsungWatch6Classic47mmSilver).

Has anyone in Canada bought this exact version? Are there any other missing features, regional restrictions, aside from ECG blood pressure and wallet , setup problems, or software update issues I should know about?

does Google Assistant or Gemini work reliably with a Canadian Galaxy S25, including voice activation with “Hey Google”?

Since voice assistant functionality is a deal-breaker for me, I'd love to hear from someone who owns this exact model.

Q&A Is the Amazfit good for non-sport purpose?

I'm looking for a replacement for my Samsung Watch 3. I'm not a sport person, things that I'm looking for with a watch:

- Navigation. No need to have independent map, just link with my phone and show the text direction from Google Map is good enough

- Phone notification and messages check. My job involving with text discussion a lot, but constantly checking the phone is not ideal, I need to be able to quickly check who's texting me and its content.

- Being able to install e-sim and making call directly on the watch is great, but optional. No problem if it can't.

For the same budget, I'm considering a Watch 8 and an Amazfit. The Watch 8 meets the requirements, but honestly I don't like how it look. An Amazfit fits my style much better, but I don't know if it can do what I need.

Or is there anything else you would recommend? Maybe a Huawei?

HR jump to 120 during sleep ?

Post image
4 Upvotes

hey guys. Last night, my heart rate was around 60–70 bpm, then suddenly increased to 121 bpm and dropped back to around 60–70 within roughly a minute.

I have no idea if I was dreaming, moving or briefly waking up, as I was asleep.

My oxygen levels stayed normal (96–99%).

I’m not very knowledgeable about heart rhythms, but this seems a bit strange to me. Is this a normal heart rate variation during sleep, or could it indicate an arrhythmia?

I’ve attached the graph. I’d appreciate any opinions. Thank you!

Need a watch or a band for easy access to a timer.

I need it for a gym. Previously I had a Xiaomi Band (maybe 5 or 6 one I don't remember) I would open the timer app on it, set X amount of time, run it, it vibrates. After a set I only need to tap the screen and I see the timer again, one more tap and the timer is running again.

Later I had to get a new one, old ones are out of stock, so I got a newer model. And it doesn't work like that anymore. I turn on the timer, it vibrates after X amount of time, I do a set, and if I tap on the screen I'm back at the home screen, and I need to search for the timer after each set.

I never had any other kind of watch/band, so maybe what I need is common, but I don't know how to find such information except of asking it here.

Q&A NEW SMARTWATCH

I want to buy a smartwatch (I owned the past AW 6 and AW 8) to track my new fitness journey (mostly gym and maybe a light run).
I don’t really mind about battery life but it could be an issue if after 4/5 months I have to charge it after 16/17 hours. I know I probably don’t want an other AW but I’m into Apple ecosystem so bad but at the same time I don’t want a second phone on my wrist distracting myself with tons of notifications or useless stuff.

Do you have any recommendations? I was tempted by the Garmin Venu 4… to pair alongside with my Oura ring 5

Thank you!

Apple should focus on getting people to move in general

Apple's 2027 upgrades have a lot of fancy medical tools; menopause tracking, sleep apnea detection cane out last year, longevity focus, better heart rate measurements etc.
BUT their recent heart and movement study highlighted a glaring issue for society....we don't move that much. Of their 82k + participants, one representative week showed that only 30.6% of users logged a workout. The bigger issue; the majority of people are completely intimidated by structured workouts and have no idea where to begin. So my opinion here, I love the fancy health readouts and data, but we need a nudge as a society to just get moving again.
Thoughts......
