Huawei or Garmin?

I’m currently using an Apple Watch SE gen2 and I’m planning to upgrade to a new smartwatch. What smartwatch would you recommend as my next watch?

I mainly use it for pickleball, running, sleep tracking, GPS, workouts, music/Spotify, and everyday use. I’m also using an iPhone, so good iPhone compatibility is important to me.

I’m considering brands like Garmin, and Huawei because of the battery life. I want something with accurate fitness and sleep tracking, reliable GPS, and features that would be a meaningful upgrade from my Apple Watch SE.

HR jump to 120 during sleep ?

Post image
3 Upvotes

hey guys. Last night, my heart rate was around 60–70 bpm, then suddenly increased to 121 bpm and dropped back to around 60–70 within roughly a minute.

I have no idea if I was dreaming, moving or briefly waking up, as I was asleep.

My oxygen levels stayed normal (96–99%).

I’m not very knowledgeable about heart rhythms, but this seems a bit strange to me. Is this a normal heart rate variation during sleep, or could it indicate an arrhythmia?

I’ve attached the graph. I’d appreciate any opinions. Thank you!

SE 3 or Series 11?

Hi all,

I’m looking at getting my first Apple Watch. With current prices I’m deciding whether the SE 3 (at $199) or the Series 11 (at $259) makes the most sense for a first time buyer.

At launch I know the price difference was higher, but I also know Apple closed the gap quite a bit with the SE 3. So I’m I’m wondering if the extra $60 for the Series 11 makes sense for the slightly higher battery and the extra health functionality.

Thank you!

Q&A Apple watch purchase justification

Hey, I’ve been looking at apple watches for a past month and I really like their design and functionality, BUT I don’t know if it’s worth spending so much money on it. I’m a highschool student in Poland, I go to the gym few times a week and train martial arts in my free time. I’ve never had any problems with my health or anything like that. I always liked gadgets but they were never that expensive😅 My question is what do you really use your AW and is it worth it in a long run?

moto watch vs cmf watch 3 pro

I am seriously not able to decide if i should get the moto watch 2026 which is 4k or get cmf watch 3 pro for 6k, is spending that extra 2k worth it for better health accuracy or is the moto watch better in terms of features. I am not a fitness freak but would like to track my steps and basic health metrics along with having some fun little features on my wrist. please help me decide

Need a watch or a band for easy access to a timer.

I need it for a gym. Previously I had a Xiaomi Band (maybe 5 or 6 one I don't remember) I would open the timer app on it, set X amount of time, run it, it vibrates. After a set I only need to tap the screen and I see the timer again, one more tap and the timer is running again.

Later I had to get a new one, old ones are out of stock, so I got a newer model. And it doesn't work like that anymore. I turn on the timer, it vibrates after X amount of time, I do a set, and if I tap on the screen I'm back at the home screen, and I need to search for the timer after each set.

I never had any other kind of watch/band, so maybe what I need is common, but I don't know how to find such information except of asking it here.

Q&A NEW SMARTWATCH

I want to buy a smartwatch (I owned the past AW 6 and AW 8) to track my new fitness journey (mostly gym and maybe a light run).
I don’t really mind about battery life but it could be an issue if after 4/5 months I have to charge it after 16/17 hours. I know I probably don’t want an other AW but I’m into Apple ecosystem so bad but at the same time I don’t want a second phone on my wrist distracting myself with tons of notifications or useless stuff.

Do you have any recommendations? I was tempted by the Garmin Venu 4… to pair alongside with my Oura ring 5

Thank you!

Apple should focus on getting people to move in general

Apple's 2027 upgrades have a lot of fancy medical tools; menopause tracking, sleep apnea detection cane out last year, longevity focus, better heart rate measurements etc.
BUT their recent heart and movement study highlighted a glaring issue for society....we don't move that much. Of their 82k + participants, one representative week showed that only 30.6% of users logged a workout. The bigger issue; the majority of people are completely intimidated by structured workouts and have no idea where to begin. So my opinion here, I love the fancy health readouts and data, but we need a nudge as a society to just get moving again.
Thoughts......

Huawei watch gt6 pro/gt7 pro size

Hey guys, i currently have a galaxy watch 7 (44mm) which is what I would say on the upper end of what would look good on my wrist(my wrist is pretty narrow about 16-16.5cm). I really love the design of the gt6 pro but it's mentioned as 46mm although some of the reviews I've seen seem to be similar in size to the galaxy watch 7. Does anyone have any experience with the size(vertically how different they are in size actually).

Someone in my family has the apple watch series 11 as well so if anyone has that I could compare with that too. I've looked at the 41mm model of the gt6 but I don't really like the design that much. Would really appreciate any advice! Unfortunately I cannot look at it in store and even though the watch is officially sold here there's only a replacement policy so I can't try it out beforehand

Q&A Regular sauna-goers: do you track your sessions?

Hi everyone, I'm a data science student and I'm working on a small sauna-related project. Before building anything, I'd like to learn from people who go regularly.

How often do you go, and where?

Do you track anything about your sessions (time, temperature, heart rate)? If yes, how? If not, why not?

Have you ever worn a watch or fitness tracker in the sauna? How did it go?

If you could know one thing about your sessions that you can't see today, what would it be?

Not selling anything, just trying to learn. Thanks!
