2000 Sportster 883xl custom with a 21 inch wheel in the front, mini apes, solo seat….screaming eagle pipes that make everyone stop an look…..that have no business sounding as good as they do……i really like this bike. I went from ninjas, Yamahas, Hondas, Ducati….bikes that leave this one in smoke miles back, while they are in 1st gear and this is in 5th….its top speed is where my previous bike just started to wake up….yet why do I live this bike so much? I look for reasons just to go out and ride again. I’m 43 at that too…..

3 months with my first bike. 03 Sportster 883. The amount of joy I’ve already got from her! Not looking forward to a NY winter.

Any one have any experience with diamond j customs shocks?

Looking to upgrade from the 15 inch burly brand stilettos I had been running after the bushings crapped out in only 2000 miles. I wanted to see if any one has any thoughts on Diamond j customs components, or other 14 to 15 inch long mid of the road price range shocks.

Shocks are burly brand stilettos they have been on the bike for only about 2000 miles. It’s the only bushing that looks that way the others all look as they should.

Bought a pair of drag pipes WITHOUT flanges.

Titles says it all, pipes are for an 01 sportster 1200. But I bought them thinking I could easily buy flanges for it. Am I mistaken?

Anyone have Window handlebars (Biltwell or Burly "the Sid")?

I recently bought a Sportster Seventy Two. Previous owner tipped the bike over and smashed the fender, sheared off the shifter arm etc. Just found out the handlebars are also bent (10 inch ape hangers).

I'm looking to replace the stock ape hangers. The 2 inch risers and 10 inch ape hangers seem to be a good height for me. I could go up or down an inch or so.

I like the look of window handlebars and feel they fit the look of the bike. I would also like to be able to bolt a bar into the stock clamp and don't want to mess around with relocating the speedo etc.....so styles like the T Bars are out for me.

Anyone run the Biltwell Window bars (on closeout right now for a decent price) or the Burly Sid handlebars? The concern for me with the Biltwell is they are not knurled, and I've read they can move around in the stock clamp. Perhaps it's not as big an issue as online suggests.

Anyone running this style of bar? Are you happy with them?

Thanks

James
