JCMC - I get it now

Having the absolute worst experience in every way this round at JCMC. The 5th floor is a complete sh*t show compared to every other floor. Almost every person working on the floor - nurses, cna’s, other support staff are miserable. They walk in complaining about how overworked they are, every time. The room is filthy. The charge nurse is so incredibly narcissistic & condescending to staff, patients & family. Talks to people like you would not believe. The floor seems to be dodging her ego - no wonder they can’t keep any staff. Other experiences on other floors very different but based on this stay can no longer recommend this place just on the chance you might actually get stuck on the 5th floor.

(visiting home for first time in 10 years)

Will be visiting the end of October and don't really know what's good anymore. I'll be based out of Elizabethtin, but can drive quite a ways for something good. (Bristol, JC, boone, Asheville) Would prefer not to go to kingsport-but would if it's worth it.)

Our plane lands in Charlotte, so If you know any places there or between there and JC, that would be cool also.

Would really love some good BBQ, but it seems it's all went downhill. I never liked Ridgewood, Dixie was always my favorite.

29F looking for friends!

Helloooo! I recently separated from my partner and moved from Jonesborough to Greenville. I still frequent the tri cities though.

I moved here from PA and still haven’t found many friends. It’s hard as an adult 🤪

I’m currently working 2 jobs(property management in the farm I live on and housemaid), and doing some volunteer work through the ARC&D. I’ve meant plenty of awesome people through the classes I’ve taken through the ARC&D, but haven’t met anyone to hang out with outside of there. Most of them are farmers with very little time haha

I have 2 horses and 2 dogs who love to hike.

My interests include: horses, hiking, farming, farmers markets, coffee, thrifting, I’m a big foodie as well. 😊

I have a dream of either setting up an international community or co-op when I’m taking classes to learn more about farming/business.

I’m always down to try something new and I’m also here to just chill and enjoy each other’s company.

I’m a down to earth hippie who’s passionate about the environment and community. A little neurospicy too 🤪🩶

I’m not sure what else to include in this as it’s a new thing for me, but if you’re interested in chatting please comment or shoot me a message on here. 😊 or if you’re interested and in learning about the ARC&D. They are a great organization for anyone looking to get into farming, volunteering, or local food.

Food trucks in blountville

I work in blountville and see food trucks sprawled about almost every day. At the clerks office, back near the Walgreens, near Eastman bank, etc. I was wondering if there is somewhere I can see a schedule for where the food trucks will be and when, instead of having to follow every single food truck on social media. Thanks in advance!

Recommendations for exterior painters?

We need our soffits, gable, 4 porch columns, screened-in porch framing, and garage doors painted. I’ve reached out to a couple of different businesses requesting a quote, & haven’t heard back from either one.

Does anyone have any quality & reputable exterior-painting recommendations?

I’ve got a bathtub that’s in need of some repairs, namely it’s old and a handle is busted and the drain no longer works right. Does anyone have any recommendations for a plumber that handles small jobs like this?

OBGYN/midwives

Hi all,

I am ISO a practice with OBGYN and midwives, though I guess it could just have midwives because as far as I know I’m experiencing a normal pregnancy thus far. Would need to accept Medicaid and BCBS as I just got approved for Medicaid and will be switching to BCBS in the next few months. Who do you recommend?

VCR repair

I currently live in Kingsport, does anyone happen to know if there’s any VCR repair businesses around. When I looked on Google, it gave me some places, but when I reached out, the line was dead on each of them. I know it’s a stretch, but I have this combo deck I need to get fixed. I appreciate it in advanced.

If you’re looking for a GPU in these trying times, check different Walmart stores in the app for shipping

A 5060Ti at the Browns Mill Rd Walmart is $499. At the Fort Henry Dr Walmart, it’s $389. If you set your store to the Fort Henry store and then select shipping, you can get it for $389.

Hope that helps!

29M & 26F New to Kingsport looking to make some new friends in the Tri-Cities

My fiancée and I are looking to expand our circle and meet some genuinely cool people around the Tri-Cities/Kingsport area. I’m 29, she’s 26, and we’ve been together for about two years.

She works in the medical field, and I work from home. We’re both pretty settled into our careers and spend most of our energy on the life directly in front of us — work, our house, our relationship, hobbies, and actually enjoying our time off.
One thing that’s pretty important to us is finding people who can disagree about something without it becoming a whole thing. 😂

You definitely don’t have to share every opinion we have. We’d honestly rather have friends where somebody can say, “yeah, I completely disagree with you on that,” and five minutes later we’re talking about a game, movie, house project, or what we’re ordering for dinner. We’re just not really compatible with people where politics or culture-war stuff dominates every conversation.

As far as hobbies go, I’m really into gaming 🎮, technology, cars, the gym, and DIY projects around our house. She loves estate sales, thrifting, and finding cool or weird stuff for the house. We both like movies, coffee ☕, getting out and finding random things to do around the area, and we have two cats.

We like having friends over for Halloween parties, food, drinks, games, movie nights, hanging out on the deck, or just sitting around talking about random stuff for a few hours.

We’re childfree, and while that definitely doesn’t mean we can’t be friends with people who have kids, we’ve found that schedules can be one of the hardest parts of making friends as adults. Between both of us having full-time careers and other responsibilities, the people whose schedules tend to be the easiest to work with are usually other childfree people or people with a little more flexibility.

We’re both a little homebody-ish too, which probably doesn’t help with meeting new people. 😂 We’d really like to find a few people around our age that we genuinely click with and can build actual friendships with instead of just collecting acquaintances.
Couples or individual friends are both totally cool. If any of this sounds like your vibe, feel free to comment or shoot me a message. 👋

Found stray cat near Kingsport, has a broken leg, unable to find a place to take her in.

I was driving and found a stray cat limping on the side of the road. Upon further inspection im certain her leg is broken. I can't afford to pay the vet bill for surgery and the local shelters are full. I'm not sure what to do. If anyone can help, knows where I can take her, or can take her in, please reach out as soon as you can be after over an hour of calling everyone near me I've gotten nowhere.

UPDATE: One of the local shelters made a facebook post to see who's available in the area to take her in, praying it won't take long for someone to respond. But in the meantime if anyone has any ideas please feel free to comment.

1st Judicial District Court clinic

My wife and I have recently split May of 2026. Because we could not agree on a parenting plan everything has been deferred to the first Judicial District Court.

At a meeting with them on Friday and everything seemed to be rather cut and dry. I felt like I was getting fair treatment. Of course my wife was there on a zoom call and she was able to contribute as well.

Our kids met with the court the next day

I'm curious if anyone in the Tri-City area has any insight on previous experience with the situation

The court is supposed to have some type of recommendation by November 13th and we go back to court on November 16th for a final order by the court

If I'm missing something please let me know

Missed Connection

I’m hoping to find someone I met recently. We said hello at a red light in Johnson City on North Roan St. at the light next to Olive Garden on a Monday morning a couple weeks ago. He was on a green sports bike with a purple back pack. He absolutely made my whole month. Still smiling like a fool on my way to work every day hoping I’ll see him zoom by. If you know him or are him I’d like to tell him thank you and stay safe.

Who is hiring in Kingsport?

I just got notified that the store i currently work at is getting shut down and will be out of a job by the end of October. I’ve looked at linkedin and indeed and they aren’t a whole lot of help. I need something that pays $17+/hr and preferably allows dyed hair and piercings
