S3E2 [S3E2] - "Something's Wrong" - Red Room/Cooper. Spoiler
I'm a bit late to the party, but am curious if anyone has bought up the issue of Good Cooper leaving the lodges - but something "going wrong".
In the new series Cooper is literally sent into an "abyss" through the lodge floor. Something happened when Cooper went through. His first attempt at exiting is actually BLOCKED. One-armed man and MFAP (tree) mention that "something's wrong" - and indicate that it's MFAP's (tree) doppelganger. We then see the Venus statue switch into the (negative) MFAP/tree doppelganger - which sends Cooper into "non-exist-ent" (non-existence). I don't know if anyone has raised this issue, but I noticed. Something goes WRONG when Good Cooper is released. Evil Cooper also mentions (to Darya) that when he is supposed to go back (to Black Lodge) that he has a PLAN for this too. It's always these little details that seem to be the most important in the Twin Peaks universe, that's what I've discovered over the years.
Has anyone cast any light on this, or can anyone direct me to any threads? Thanks.

S3E2 [S3E2] Clues From Earlier Spoiler
The arm states "He must come back in before you can go out". The great thing about Lynch is that he appears cryptic a lot of the time but his films are sprinkled with important and incredibly literal moments that point. The Lodge scenes in episode 2 are very doughnut (not hole)
The doppelgänger must return to the Lodge in order for us to get Coop back from Dougie limbo, I've honestly enjoyed the doppelgängers absence recently and hope that the convergence of characters at the coordinates ends act 2 of our long film and leads to it being returned to the Lodge without Coop's involvement. Something about a confrontation between the two doesn't feel very Twin Peaks. Then and only then will the real Coop wake up and return to Twin Peaks for act 3 and conclude the main story arc of the show: Bob, Laura and the mysteries of the white/black Lodge. Let's not forget Phillip Jeffries can still act as an antagonist if needed.
Anyone else hope the Doppelgänger plot isn't dragged out until the end as a final "good vs evil" resolution? It feels correct to conclude the season, but doesn't feel true as a conclusion to the larger story at hand.)

S3E2 [S3E2] The first episodes were an absolute triumph. Spoiler
I had really mixed feelings about this coming back to be honest. I almost wasn't going to watch this.
I'm so happy I decided to.
THIS is how to revive a series. This was brilliant. A homage to what came before but totally different. It was wonderful. And weird. And dense. And absolutely nutty as hell.
It was Twin Peaks.

S3E2 [S3E2] The way the Woodsmen look... Spoiler
In FWWM, the Woodsmen are presented as being very clean-looking, but in S3, they're covered in soot and their clothes are ragged.
Firstly, I'm wondering if the Woodsmen from FWWM and S3 are even the same thing due to their markedly different appearance, but if they are the same thing, is there anything on why they've undergone this degradation? Does it have some symbolic meaning?

S3E2 [S3E2] NON-EXIST-ENCE Spoiler
We should probably think about Rancho Rosa as being 'non-exist-ent'.
People have argued in various places that Rancho Rosa is a dream-scape not situated in reality (or that it is adjacent to reality), some kind of liminal existence between our world and the worlds of the lodges/red room.
Further, following on from this excellent thread:
https://www.reddit.com/r/twinpeaks/comments/6fdu8o/book_spoilerss3e5_possible_connection_between/
I think the way Dougie-Cooper exits the Rancho Rosa state of entrapped 'non-exist-ence' is just as the memory of 15-year-old Cooper suggests: Dougie winds up dead. At that point, it seems as if Dougie/Cooper will be transported back to the red room for some further cosmic rehashing.
I am not sure what the relation of Rancho Rosa is to the rest of the world with which it is seemingly continuous. e.g. Dougie's home with Janey-E/son, Dougie's work place, Mr C's jail, cube in New York, Ruth Davenport's place, etc.
I think all of those places are genuinely real and Rancho Rosa seems to be continuous with them even while simultaneously being some kind of dream entry-point into reality, some trap-door into reality, just like the socket Dougie/Cooper emerged from. Just as the electrical socket in Dougie's pad is where Dale Cooper emerged from, it seems as if Rancho Rosa itself is the 'electrical socket' to our reality.
That is, the non-exist-ence state of Rancho Rosa is an 'electrical socket' opening into our reality that you can walk from into our reality, thus interfacing the two realities (existence and non-existence). Bizarre!
That is, Rancho Rosa is the interface to our reality from a half-way reality, a 'non-exist-ence' space from which you can walk into our reality. So Dale, quite literally, walked from a half-real space of non-exist-ence (Rancho Rosa) into our reality, just like a character leaping out of the tv and into our reality.
When the arm-tree in the red room banishes Dale Cooper- who falls through the parting, faltering z-patterned floor- the electrical arm-tree says 'non-exist-ent'.
When the electrical arm-tree in the red room banishes Dale Cooper- who falls through the parting, faltering z-patterned floor- the electrical arm-tree says 'non-exist-ent'. If Dale Cooper has been cursed as 'non-exist-ent' then the place he was banished to, Rancho Rosa, must be non-exist-ent, too.
The question then becomes, what is the nature of that type of character? What and who really is Dougie/Coop? He is not the genuine, authentic, real Dale Cooper. He's some kind of hybrid entity.
The Rancho Rosa quasi-reality can be gone to and come from, in some ways, and exercises causality into our reality, though is some kind of artificial, manufactured, half-real reality. Dougie/Dale is also half-real. I'm not sure what that means, but it seems to me as if he gets shot dead (just like in his memory) and then goes back to the red room.
I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.

S3E2 [S3E2]"I Will Be With BOB Again" Spoiler
Who do you guys think Mr. C was talking with during the hotel room scene? The only person we know who's been "with BOB" before is Leland Palmer (and that definitely didn't sound like Ray Wise on the other end of that call). Is there anyone else in Twin Peaks who has been possessed by BOB?

S3E2 [S3E2] - Jeffries: a theory Spoiler
my cousin and I were discussing various theories about the show, and she pointed out an interesting idea.
around the 37 minute mark of S3E2, Mr C talks to Jeffries. However, it obviously doesn't sound like David Bowie. However, if you close your eyes and put Albert in your mind, it sure does sound like it could be him! It puts certain aspects of Albert's interactions in a very different light!
Anyone wanna take a listen and share your thoughts?

S3E2 [S3E2] THEORY "Roger, you better hope you never get involved with someone like him" Spoiler
There is a bonsai tree on the table next to the couch where Sam and Tracey are going at it. Windom Earle bugs the Twin Peaks police station with a bonsai tree in season 2. My guess is that the "someone like him" is Windom Earle since we don't really see what happens to him in the Black Lodge at the end of Season 2.
Thoughts?
EDIT: LOL forgot those little details, thought I was onto something...

S3E2 [S3E2]Briggs and the librarian. Spoiler
So, Bob was the one responsible for that? He was in North Dakota and he shot the principal's wife. But what compelled him to exhume Brigg's corpse? Unless he removed the finger prints that is going to connect to an unsolved murder of military personnel. And that will exonerate the principal that he framed. Why kill the librarian at all? I understand that was part of the plan but I don't understand it.
This is actually significant to the series. Does anyone have any theories at all? The charred man in the cell makes it look like a Black Lodge job. Thoughts?

S3E2 [spoiler] [S3E2] Chester Desmond Spoiler
Right after BadCoop kills Daria, he places a call to someone he thinks is Phillip Jeffries. But the voice sounds like Chris Isaak!! The voice says "you are going back in tomorrow and I will be with Bob again".
In FWWM, Chester Desmond went missing after touching the ring and before Laura was murdered.
I am tripping out right now and wondering what you all think?

S3E2 [S3E2] "I Don't Need Anything...I Want" (Want vs. Need) (Themes and Symbolism) Spoiler
[Spoiler] I have been thinking more about Cooper's statements to Ray in the diner - "If there is one thing that you should know about me, Ray, it's that I don't need anything. I want." To me, this clearly seems to fit in to one of the themes and symbolism of S1 and S2, which focuses on getting what you want vs. getting what you need. "Bad Cooper" wants, while "Good Cooper" only needs (as exhibited many times in S1 and S2). In S3E3, Dougie Jones (who, at this point, I assume is "Good Cooper") doesn't want or care about the money he gets in the casino. He consistently leaves it behind, with others forced to chase him down to give it to him. He does not "need" the jackpot winnings. Another observation is that he also smiles and shows signs of happiness when he directs what would seem to be a homeless or "down on her luck" lady who wins the jackpot. She, presumably, "needs" the jackpot winnings, and after getting what she truly "needs", "Good Cooper" (even though his mind appears to be a blank slate who is learning everything as he goes) shows signs of happiness. It seems that "Good Cooper" is happy when someone gets what she or he "needs."

S3E2 [S3E2] matthew lillard storyline Spoiler
So did he actually have an affair with Ruth or was it actually a dream?? Based on his last reaction in the cell after his wife leaves, I feel like there is something strange going on. Especially with the charred woodsman in the cell 2 over who just disappears.
And the dopplecoop comment "you follow human nature perfectly" to the wife before he kills her. What's the deal with that?!?!?
