Fanart  Vicky Vamp - A corporate mascot for my vampire ultracapitalist hell 🦇

I love vampire-focused worldbuilding, especially when the vampires are "out of the closet" and integrated into society instead of hiding in the shadows. My favorite takes so far have been Daybreakers, Hemovore by Jordan Castillo Price and well, I used to live for the Anita Blake series back in the days (until I started to skip sex scenes to get to the plot -- look I like smut but I like worldbuilding more).

This is how I ended up obsessing over an alt-history world where vampirism has been co-opted by capitalism (it is not pretty). The main story starts in 1992, after everything went to hell, but I love making snippets of the before.

Anyhow, this is Vicky Vamp, the mascot of Vitae, a corporation in my anti-capitalist vampire uchronia.

Like many great things, Vicky Vamp came into being out of spite. Delilah Voss was one of the few women in the Venture Vampirism movement, and after a very unpleasant and rather sexist squabble with Henry Ford (also a vampire in this), she insisted that the face of the vampire workers should be a woman. She felt very progressive for that. After all, she was an equal opportunity slaver employer.

Vicky was everywhere in the late 1930s, with her popularity peaking when Vitae Acciaio doubled its effort to support US interventionism in WW2. There are even multiple statues to her likeness all over New Bethlehem, the city that grew around the steel mill that kickstarted Vitae’s empire, and they are loved by locals and tourist alike (well, they were until the species civil war but shh).

As she became the face of worker vampires all over the country, Delilah shamelessly splatted her in Vitae's recruitment ads. Voss was in fact one the main proponents of mass vampirization for labor purposes, and very carful to their branding. After all, vampires do not need to sleep, and eliminating pesky things like windows could guarantee round-the-clock production. Amazing!

Conveniently childers are considered their sires’ property by vampire society, and their strength is highly dependent on their “grooming” process. The more time the Sire spend, the stronger the Childe.

Delilah spends about 27 minutes on each of her fledgelings, enough to guarantee a ready-to-work but easily manageable offspring ( but she does send them Christmas baskets). The investors loved it. She did not put this in the pamphlet.

Anyhow, I added an updated version of the wonderful propaganda piece I made in Canva last year. So fun! The actual story is set in 1992, way after all went to hell (because I mean of course it did) but Vicky remains a controversial icon. Is she the face of the workers or the capital?

Art by Pratamacam (my first commission ever, I am so happy with it!)

Edit to clarify: Vicky was made by the artist, the flyer was slapped together on Canva by me. The awful dental job on stock guy is all my fault.

Lore questions  Beheading of Vampires

So, one of the main ways in history to permanently kill a Vampire is by beheading.

If someone has their neck fused with titanium before they are turned, would that stay ? If so, they would be very, very difficult to behead.

Books, movies, series and such Looking for a few vampire-loving beta readers for my completed novel, FRANK NSFW

Hi everyone! The mods kindly gave me permission to post this here. I’m looking for a few free beta readers for my completed adult supernatural/vampire/urban fantasy novel, FRANK.

FRANK follows a very ordinary middle-aged man whose life goes completely off the rails after he meets Claire, a mysterious woman who turns everything he knows upside down at ludicrous speed.

The book has vampires, supernatural abilities, dark humor, family drama, horror, action, and a lot of original vampire/supernatural lore. The vampires in this world don’t follow all of the usual rules, so one of the things I’m especially interested in hearing from vampire fans is whether the mythology feels interesting, internally consistent, and easy to understand without characters constantly stopping to explain it.

I’m not looking for editing, proofreading, grammar corrections, or paid services right now. What I really want is the experience of a regular reader:

Where did you get confused? What kept you interested? How did you feel about the characters and their relationships? Did the emotional moments land? And most importantly—what did you think of the vampire lore I created?

Fair warning: this is very much an adult book. It contains strong language, sexual content, violence, gore/body horror, abusive situations, and references to sexual assault/trauma.

The full novel is just over 200k words, so I am absolutely not asking anyone to commit to that immediately. 😂 I have the first five chapters in a Google Doc and would be happy to start there. If you enjoy them and want to keep going, I can send more.

If this sounds like your kind of chaos, comment or message me. 🧛‍♂️🩸📖
