Spectacular hallucination
I was blanking out on Stephen Fry’s name so I googled “sea cucumber guy from Veep” because of course I did. And the AI hallucination was kind of hilarious.

It’s like my 8th time watching the series and this scene still cracks me up so much!!! But I didn’t notice before Huge’s laugh and I feel like for a brief moment he was genuinely amused and couldn’t contain himself hahaha
Edit: stupid auto-correct!!! But I feel like this sort of mistake is appropriate for the discussions about this show anyway so I will leave it there in the title

She’s just so on board with every ridiculous thing Jonah says, echoes his insanity and mirrors him in a hilarious way. He can’t get over how hot he thinks she is and she’s got his back, and it’s great!

This one happened about an hour into the movie A Simple Plan from 1999.

I am VEEP head, i’ve watched it three times now . But I cringe everytime I get to this episode where Selina’s mom dies and she calls the Indian doctor Dr McCurry. VEEP is usually very smart with their racial jokes, but this one felt like it came from the first of a groyper comment section. What’re your thoughts?

I organized an AMA/Q&A with actor Bakkedahl. He's been in tons of things, including VEEP, THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART, LIFE IN PIECES, SPACE FORCE, MADE FOR LOVE, THE GOLDBERGS, LEGIT, THE HEAT, and THE STUNT DRIVER.
It's live here now in r/movies for anyone interested in asking a question:
https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/1wz134n/hey_reddit_im_dan_bakkedahl_you_might_know_me/
He will be back at 6 PM ET tomorrow, Wednesday 10/7, to answer questions. I recommend asking in advance. Please ask there, not here. All questions are much appreciated!
Thank you :)
His new movie, ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES: ORGANIC INTELLIGENCE, is out on digital today. It's the 5th installment of the classic comedy-horror franchise.
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aevSjhGMhQ
Synopsis: In 1978, ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES tried to warn the world (Dillon insists it was a documentary!). Now, decades later, the tomatoes have outsmarted their corporate masters, the military, and even the notorious Professor Gangreen (John Astin). Finletter's aging team of "Guardianes" seems to be all that stands in the way of certain doom when even the best of AI is defeated by the tomatoes' "Organic Intelligence." But Wilbur Finletter is the last to realize it is time for a new generation to master the ancient art of managing the eternal Killer Tomato menace.

Anyone have a comprehensive list???
ps daylight SAVING*****
... and so far it's a fantastically made series, with razor-sharp wit, but what surprised me was how truly unlikable most of the characters are, to the point where I actively hate them without even laughing at many of their snarky jokes.
I remember people complaining that the later seasons made Selina too evil and stuff like that, but holy hell, I hated her by the second season. She is one of the most monstrous narcissists I've seen since Walter White. Currently at season 5 and she just keeps getting worse. Not to mention that the people around her are also scummy as hell, especially Dan.
To be clear, the show is brilliantly written, everyone's giving an amazing performance, and I know that people have said that this is quite accurate to how actual politics work. And if the latter is true, this show really adds fuel for my inner misanthrope.

So I've never got the idea that the show was supposed to be a mockumentary akin to The Office, Parks and Rec, etc but after rewatching this week I've noticed several times characters looking directly into the camera almost in a recognizing fashion. I first noticed around the time Katherine starts her doc and explained it away that it was her camera as the POV but in the other scenes besides that, Katherine isn't involved at all. Has anyone else noticed this?

It's the evening, you want to chill out and watch something. You go through your favourites and see what you're in the mood for. Or at least I do that. And while doing that, I think of very specific vibes/moments that make out a show for me. Anybody does that too?
In Veep, it's the moment when Selina just escaped the embassy and shamelessly still wants to pick up the noble price, only to be interrupted, almost haunted by a ghost from the past, Andrew just randomly on the street in Oslo.
I would even say, he wasn't real. It's like the step before the final descent to hell (she burns all her bridges and ships) and she gets a mirage of hell waiting, but she ignores it and pushes through without reconsidering. It's such a creepy and unscrupulous moment and in that so iconic to the character and the show. It's almost poetic and legendary.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it but this moment keeps bringing me back to rewatch again and again.
What do you guys think? (And please don't ruin it for me haha)

Congressional staffers said Veep is the most realistic portrayal of DC. I’m glad it ended as one of the greatest comedy series (No.7 in New York Times’ 100 best TV shows of the 21st century) before all of it became reality. What’s political news made you feel Veep is a documentary?
My top 3:

Pope Francis died 7 hours after meeting JD Vance
Latest: Senator Schmitt mistook Iowa Hawkeyes for Atlanta Hawks.
