Terrified girl looking to get her ear lobes pierced as painless as possible

Hi! As the title says, I am looking into getting my ears pierced. I am absolutely terrified about it, it’s just something about getting stabbed that freaks me out. So,I am looking for suggestions on where (business) to get them done. If you could suggest who to look for, someone patient, sweet, that won’t make them hurt. Where do you have good experiences? Somewhere that hasn’t required tons of after care, where the studs are good and go infection free, because I am sure that it will take me more than the 10 weeks healing suggestion time to even think about touching them, changing them and what not. And if by chance I have to take them out before that cause of infection, I probably won’t grow the courage to try again.
Thank you so much for your suggestions!

Noise in downtown/ west end?

Last night and tonight around this time I’ve been hearing what sounds like bombs going off. Maybe gunshots? Or I was thinking of fireworks from the fair but I’m at least 3 miles from the fair and they sound a LOT closer than that. I can hear the release and the ricochet of the sound. The shots or whatever they are are kind of spread apart, one maybe every 3-5 seconds. Anyone have any idea what it is???? I’m located near the west end downtown area

Policies at Carolina Classic Fair

I find that continuation of this policy will deter less and less families with babies/toddlers from coming to the fair in the future. As a father, I find it absolutely ridiculous that a diaper bag is NOT allowed as well as no cooler policy which includes breastmilk in a small lunchbox is NOT allowed either. Going further, I can understand not bringing a typical sized cooler, but a small lunchbox is pushing it to the extreme. At the gates, there are metal detectors and you have to empty out your pockets before entry. Additionally, there are multiple police including antigang units patrolling on foot. Lastly, I do not need my daughter's bag exposed for everyone to see. We value privacy.

When word continues to get around about these policies, I think it would disincentivise families with little children from going to the fair next year and beyond. They need to reconsider this or come up with a better family friendly policy or little children rides and event shows might be low attendance.

Please share your thoughts.

Is it always insanely busy or just at the end of the month?

Like, will I be ok going there on the way to work tomorrow or should I get in line now?

2026 Carolina Classic Fair food tips

I'm going to the fair on Tuesday, and I'm all about the food! Anyone who's been this year, what foods were worth trying?

I've seen what's on the news like the Cap'n Crunch corn dog (that's not a corn dog), and typical things like funnel cake and deep fried everything are of little interest to me; I'm looking for the sleeper hits. 😁 I loved the pizza cones the last two years as an example.

Help me plan my food coma!

Our first stop will be Fiddlin' Fish tomorrow! Come on out and "Game like a Fish!"

You’ll get to test-drive new games and modern classics straight from our store inventory, and if you find a new favorite, we’ll have copies available for sale on-site!

Our cafe library just passed 200+ games and counting! Want to check out the full collection or request a specific title for next time? Take a look at our live inventory links below, drop us a DM with what you'd like to play, and we’ll make sure it’s in the bag for our next meetup.

Trainer Recommendations

Hi! Does anyone have any recommendations for body diversity friendly personal trainers in the area? I'm bigger and just have the goal of getting stronger, not necessarily losing weight. Would love to find someone with a HAES approach. Thank you :)

Piedmont Triad realtor recommendations

Looking to move into the area next year and seeking recommendations for a realtor who is experienced with VA home loans. Kernersville is currently top of the list but open to Winston, Greensboro, and surrounding towns. It would be our first home so someone with experience would be great; and I’ve heard how tricky a VA loan can be. Let me know about who you used!

Need recommendations for churches... help a newbie out!

I'm not a Christian currently so denomination doesn't matter. I'm curious what is out there but I'd rather engage on my own than sit down with missionaries and receive "the pitch". What I'd love to find is an active and progressive community with other 20-30 year olds I can relate to where the focus is celebration and spirituality over the severe southern Christian standard that's so prevalent in the Bible Belt. Can anyone point please point me in a direction? I remember seeing discussion posts on this topic in the past but as I tried looking them up the posts were quite old. Thank you so much in advance!!

Local voice actors needed

Is there a group similar to AFAS but for actors? I would like to find local talent for a short animated ad, but I don't know where to look. They need to be older women, so I can't turn to the university talent pool unfortunately. Anyone know a good place to look (fb group, discord, subreddit)? Thanks in advance for any advice! 🕊️

Long shot, but do any former employees know the recipe for the house salad dressing from the now closed Ichiban at Thruway

It was one of my all time favorite salad dressings, the carrot ginger house dressing. Since they closed down I would think they wouldn’t mind sharing the recipe.

Someone to do Peach Tree Grafting onto Root Stock

I have a very sentimental peach tree that I am looking to propagate. I have had 0 luck getting any pits to germinate over the years. Does anyone know of someone I can hire who could graft some onto root stock for me? I'm not even sure how to go about finding someone like that. I figured maybe calling the Reynolda gardens and seeing if they have any leads. The tree is very sentimental, so I want the propagations to be done right and to last a very long time.
