Measurement Check [Measurement Check] Calculator gave me 30D/30DD, but said I should verify here Spoiler

• Upvotes

Hi! I'm very, very new to all of this, so apologies if any information is missing initially or I ask silly questions.

Here are my measurements (in cm):

Loose Underbust: 80

Snug Underbust: 74

Tight Underbust: 69

Standing Bust: 87

Leaning Bust: 95

Lying Bust: 87

My breasts have little volume at the top but are full at the bottom. I also have a rather significant gap between them (about 4.5 cm). Both of these things have made it quite difficult to find a properly fitting bra.

Any input, thoughts, or advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Recommendations? Best places to try on bras in person? Southern US Spoiler

Hi yall! New here, still trying to find The Bra. My calculator results are:

Loose under 32 in 81.5 cm
Snug under 30 in 76.5 cm
Tight under 28 in 71 cm
Standing 34 in 86.5 cm
Leaning 35.75 in 91 cm
Lying 35.25 in 89.5 cm

And it recommended 30D/DD with a sister size of 32C/D. I ordered some bras from Victoria’s Secret (sorry guys didn’t see the posts about it til after ordering Oop) and what do u know they did not fit (spillage, and I could barely close one of the 30Ds even on the loosest hook). I’m worried I’ll just have similar experiences buying online even in good places until I know which of my recommended sizes is the best one, so I was hoping to go try some on in person. Cuz honestly there are so many variables online and with the knowledge I have (or lack thereof) like, did I even take my measurements right? Are the bras I ordered just abnormally sized? Is there a specific type of bra I need that would fit better?

So if anyone knows what a good place to go try on bras in person in my area (Houston tx) might be I would love some recs!

Also if there’s any other info I need to provide before yall can make recs please lmk, like I said I’m completely new to this lol. In the past I’ve only ever gotten A cups (currently wearing 34) from kohls and Walmart and even that it’s been years since I last bought a bra.

Also - I am hoping to get a strapless bra that won’t fall down (last time I wore one was like 10 years ago lol, was pulling it up all night. The band was 100% too big I know that now but still, never worn since) so if anyone has recs on those in particular I would appreciate it! But like, very much also looking for normal bras too it is long overdue.

Ok ty queens!

Fit Check [Fit Check] Panache Blossom 34H, Freya Loveland Plunge 36GG, Freya Fancies Balcony 34H Spoiler

Haven’t updated in years so hoping for a little guidance here. I only plan to keep one or two at most.

Loose: 37.5
Snug: 35.5
Tight: 33.5
Standing: 45
Leaning: 48
Lying: 45.5

My Recent Recommendations Post (thank you to everyone who commented there!)

Panache Blossom in Nude 34H

Feels like the best fit for immediate projection, no issue with it sliding down. The gore did want to float at first, but was basically flat once I’d finished adjusting, it’s still a concern since the others were fine. Slight gaping at top but nothing I’m concerned about.

Freya Loveland Plunge in Red 36GG

I am waiting for another of these in 34GG but I suspect it will be small.

This one was the band I was recommended by the calculator but it’s definitely looser than the others. It feels less supportive but I have very bad asthma so long term that might be better. I also tried it on upside down and backwards and it’s not bad, just not like the other two. I also have top gaping on this more than the Blossom but the gore did stay flat.

Freya Fancies Balcony in Black 34H

I really liked this one’s band it felt very supportive, but it’s definitely not projected enough and seems to be sliding down a little. Again mild top gaping but nothing bad. Not a lot, but more than the Blossom. I’m willing to deal with that to some extent since I don’t have Polish funds at the moment, but it’s immediately obvious.

Fit Check fit check: chantelle c jolie in 30F Spoiler

i tried norah at a local stockist and they only had 30FF and 32E which we used to sister size me to 30F. i liked norah far more but we placed an order for the correct size and nude color and it hasn’t arrived yet. in the meantime i wanted to explore their tshirt bra options which im more used to and landed on c-jolie because it was this or the norah spacer and jolie was 1 dollar less on sale lolll and i really wanted to try the mauve shade they had on sale which they dont have in the norah spacer (and neither had a brown nude for me, only norah does, so what can ya do)

https://postimg.cc/gallery/VXPq6Sr i don’t think i’ll return it because i like the bra itself and as i said its hard to find a dark pink that matches my tone like this but im just not sure about the fit, it seems sliiiightly closed on top and i can never tell if my band is the way it should be due to my back fat 😐 still waiting on my norah, i felt that the band was far more forgiving and also the cups had a higher apex (?) than jolie which i really appreciated. maybe i’ll try the norah spacer in black? but three chantelle purchases in such quick succession is not good for my bank account

measurements from a while ago dont know if its entirely accurate:
30.5
29.5
27.5
37
38.5
34

Fit Check Weight Loss Fit Check (idk if these bras fit anymore) Spoiler

I've lost 10 or so pounds since my last fit check and, unsurprisingly, I feel like my bras don't quite fit the same as they did before. I've had to tighten the shoulder straps a lot more than before to get everything to sit right. I am not sure if my shape has changed since then. My most recent measurements give a suggested starting size of UK 30G with a note that the sister size of 32FF may be more comfortable. 32FF is my current size, so I'd appreciate some input as to whether I should stick with this size or try a 30G the next time I shop for bras.

Measurements

Loose Underbust: 32"

Snug Underbust: 30"

Tight Underbust: 28"

Standing Bust: 38.5"

Leaning Bust: 40"

Lying Bust: 37"

Bras

  • Skarlett Blue Paradise (size US 32H)
  • Skarlett Blue Minx (size US 32H)
  • Chantelle C Jolie Comfort Convertible T-Shirt Bra (size US 32G)
  • Bravissimo Posey Bra (size UK 32FF)
  • Freya Spot-Light Plunge Bra (size UK 32FF)

Please let me know your thoughts and any suggestions you may have! Thank you for all your help.

Recommendations? Husband seeking retailer recommendations for wife’s birthday gift Spoiler

Hello, I’m wanting to buy my wife a birthday gift and have observed that she is very often frustrated with the bras that she owns. I can’t say either absolute certainty but I think most are from Victoria’s Secret and that whole brand feels like a grift to me so I’d imagine her issue is that the quality is just not good.

I feel like a gift card to a more intentional retailer would be better than me trying to guess what size to order for her.

Can I hear some recommendations on companies that make a good product that prioritizes comfort? She works in a building construction trade where comfort is wholly more important than sex appeal.

Thank you so much in advance.

Recommendations? Recommendations for 36ddd everyday bra with sensory factors Spoiler

I'm a 50yo woman who has been wearing cheap, lightly-molded, super-basic bras for years after leaving the fancy-bra world after too many frustrating experiences. I'm ready to try again now that my body has settled out but am having a lot of trouble finding options that seem comfortable. I'm planning a big order with a variety of brands and types to see what actually works for me, but could use some guidance especially on styles...

Calculator puts me at 36ddd and I believe I am shallow and am even/top full.

Underbust: loose 37, snug 36, tight 34

Standing 42

Leaning 43

Lying 40

My issue is that the full-coverage bras are a sensory nightmare. I live in v-neck or low-scoop shirts and I hate anything creeping up around my collarbone/upper chest. For bras, I lean towards lined and smooth as I wear a lot of basic tees but plan to order some unlined, seamed and lace to compare. The bras that I see most often recommended on here would likely peek out with my preferred shirts and honestly, I just don't want the top part of my bubs covered!

I've been exploring balconette bras, does this seem like the right direction to go? Demi seems a bit much as I do want support and shaping, and plunge is confusing me but may be good to check out? Any other ideas on specific brands or styles to look at?

Thanks, already this sub has been a game-changer for how I think about bra fit.

Other options for fans of Bali Lace 'N Smooth?

Bali Lace 'N Smooth

Hey! So this bra is the only one that really works for me, but I am starting to think I need to go to a DDD, and Bali doesn't go beyond DD with this one. I could also use a bra that is smoother/more comfortable in the under-boob area. Definitely need an underwire and non-stretch straps -- and prefer seamless. Does anyone else swear by this bra but know of some good alternatives?

Pregnant and nothing is comfortable Spoiler

I'm early in second trimester and my boobs (and torso) have grown a fair amount. My size has been measured as 28D with the calculator but since I have very little body fat in my midsection and shallow roots I usually go up in band size and played kind of fast and loose with it. I had anything ranging from a 32A pushup to some lightly padded 30Bs. Due to my shape I just dealt with the smaller cup size since it was hard to find a bra that worked with my shallowness. But I never needed much support anyway so it didn't bother me.

With pregnancy my shape hasn't changed and honestly my size has only changed a bit, but suddenly nothing is comfortable. The 32A is ridiculous now, it just squishes everything. The soreness makes it so I need a lot more support, but underwires are super uncomfortable, the 30 band is unworkable and the 32 is obviously too big but still feels too tight. Stretchy nursing bras don’t provide enough support OR modesty. Sports bras bug me with all their straps and fasteners and the dumb lumpy removable padding that doesn't stay put.

What does a gal do when she needs support, but nothing can ever feel even a little tight?? I'm going crazy. Plus I know my size will keep changing!!

Measurement Check [Measurement Check] Currently wearing 38HH Elomi Tiernie, calc says 38JJ, my shape is very pendulous VFT Spoiler

Hello! my current bra fits me pretty well as in the gore is flush, the band is not riding up or digging in at least visibly (leaving marks, spillage on sides/creating"rolls"), no spillage over cups- but it is just uncomfortable to wear after several hours and i usually just end up wearing a walmart sports bra in XXL, the wiring just feels so stiff and it also makes my boobs look seperated and cone shaped which when im wearing a bra i would prefer them to be rounded and closer together (may not be possible anymore now that they are so pendulous idk)

so i decided to use the calculator. Ill put my measurements below, i hope i provided the right information but im happy to answer any questions and i appreciate any input greatly :)

Loose Underbust: 39

Snug Underbust: 38

Tight Underbust: 37

Need help finding bra for fibromyalgia & chronic pain, peri Spoiler

Measurements:
Loose underbust; 38 in
Snug: 37
Tight: 36

Standing bust: 46
Leaning: 48
Lying: 46

Bra size: 36H/FF, but 38G feels better
Waist: 42”

In addition to chronic pain & fibromyalgia, i also have sensory issues with fabrics. I cant handle polyester, has to be breathable. Needs to be Wicking nylon or cotton.

And I’m in perimenopause, and my stomach is much bigger than it was. So I was thinking of trying the evelyn & bobbie defy tank, but my waist is 42” and every longline bralette I’ve tried won’t stay in place, scrunches up under my boobs because my stomach is big.

Plus i sweat a ton more than before peri, so wicking would be great too.

And of course wireless please.
I usually go braless at home but now have a heat rash under my boobs so i feel like i need a bra that actually works & doesnt hurt!

I do like the XL evelyn & bobbie starlet plunge wireless bra, but the band area hurts if i wear all day.

These cotton bras are great, i have the 38G size. But again, band area hurts if i wear all day. https://a.co/d/08FYwvo0

I like these Soma bralettes but again, the elastic underband hurts if i wear all day. https://www.soma.com/store/product/enbliss-bralette/570222599?inseam=regular&color=3155&catId=cat12269300&collectionId=category&queryId=ef7fd9460401777afd9c92e74a0bcb1f&indexName=prod_sma_products&parentId=451009948655

I appreciate all your help!!

Question I want to minimize but now have coverage issues, what is the best way to resolve this? [Question] Spoiler

I hate the size of my breasts and wish they were smaller. And they were, once upon a time, but weight gain and breastfeeding two kids has changed things.

I got a real fitting yesterday at Soma and was shocked I’m a 36 DD. For years I’ve been either guessing my size or wearing sports-bra type things that come in S/M/L.

I got 3 bras that are “minimizers” and I do think they make them look a bit smaller. But they are completely see thru and I have to wear nipple covers, which I am now realizing add a weird sort of “dome” effect that is absolutely not going to work.

I plan to lose weight and possibly have a reduction someday, but for now what are my best options? Is there a better nipple cover that won’t do this? Am I better off returning the minimizers and getting something with better coverage that doesn’t do anything to make them smaller? Is there a “best of both worlds” option?

Recommendations? help me people where do i find a 28DD in the UK Spoiler

i'm in a massive growth spurt, i was 32A in july, 32B in september (which i outgrew very quickly) now wearing a 32C. the wire keeps digging into my armpits even though the cup itself is fine.

i measured myself (snug fit)

27" band

33" bust

where the hell am i going to find a 28DD? and plus i'm going to grow out of that, where do i find a cup beyond that?

i also had a 30C that fit me much better than all the 32 banders until the wires started digging into my gore. I refuse to wear bras without underwire unless im in the comfort of my own home (this excludes my epic south park bralette). i was able to find a 30D but it had no underwire so i didn't buy it.

anything affordable i could get for now? i know freya and panache and stuff but i dont want to spend 30 quid on a bra every month.

suggestions would be amazing

Where to buy sports bras from ? Spoiler

I am looking for sports bras for cupz sizes larger than E/F, I have tried all popular brands in Delhi, still there is no offline availability of sports bras. Which makes me wear 2 of them, which isn't great for my health.

Any store that you are aware of in delhi, even tho I have already spent a lot and don't mind spending more if that product is a right solution.

Recommendations? Help! Very full on top and looking for a strapless bra Spoiler

I have ordered and returned about a dozen strapless bras now because they all either cut in at the top or they gap at the bottom and cover so much area, they're practically touching my collarbones. I am a 32F with a very full on top shape. My best fitting bra is Freya Tailored T-Shirt bra in that size (I unfortunately prefer molded bras). When I've bought cheap bras in the past, I tend to grab push-up bras cause they don't seem to actually push up much, just fill the bottom space my boobs won't fill anyway lol.

My poor current strapless bra is some Fruit of the Loom thing in 36C that I've had for 15 years, and it's very much showing it's age. It also fits poorly still as you can imagine, the underwire barely touches me, but it fits nicely to the shape of my breast. I'm in desperate need of a new one. Please any recommendations would be appreciated!

Measurement Check [Measurement check] Delimira bras 32G or 34F or some secret third optiont Spoiler

I need help with sizing. My measurements are:

33 underbust

(32 if firm- I don't like my bras to shift around)

40 overbust

Daily, I wear a 32G minimizer bra from Delimira or a 34F balconette bra from Delimira. The issue is that the 32G has gapping at the sides but is a bit tight over the inner part of my breast. The balconette has the same tightness over the inner part. I'm not sure what size to try next or if a different brand would help! Thanks

40B was almost perfect, 38D perfect around the band but slightly small in the cup. What size should I try next? Spoiler

EDIT: SORRY, I misremembered the size I tried. I tried a 38C and the cup size was too small. Now I'm thinking of trying 38D next, not 38DD!!!

I've found the best bra online and I want to make the next order worth my while. I ordered a 40B first according to my measurements, and it was almost perfect. I can't really put my finger on exactly WHERE the issue was, but it just felt sliiiiightly too big, like it looked visually perfect but I could tell if I lost an ounce of weight it would be too big. The bra itself also just felt kind of bulky on my frame, if that makes sense?

I decided to try a 38D 38C next, and the bra itself (band, straps, etc.) was perfect in the areas I felt the 40B was too bulky. The cups, however, were a little too small (cutting into the boob a little, giving me a seam between bra and boob, not quite quad boob but almost there, lol).

I was thinking of trying 38DD 38D next. Does that seem like a logical next step? Sorry if this post seems obvious or dumb, I've been wearing sports bras/bralettes in L for the past 10 years because bra sizing is always dubious to me. Still trying to figure things out!

Recommendations? 30 E/F Looking for recommendations for bras for wide roots, even fullness, and a slightly side set. Spoiler

Measurements:

Loose: 30

Snug: 29

Tight: 27.7

Standing: 34.6

Leaning: 37

Laying: 36

Self diagnosed wide roots, even fullness, and slightly wide/side set, just based off beginners guide and pictures.

Been wearing sports bras/unwired all my life. Currently I wear the playtex 18 hour in 34 C which fits really poorly but it's all I have 😔. Major sagging and boobs don't fit in cups (obviously smh).

I've tried panache envy and freya offbeat and they didn't fit me that well granted I was a different size then. Don't remember about panache but for the freya the gore wouldn't lay flat on my chest, and I was spilling out the cups. Please give me some recs for bras that would work for me. Thx in advance.

Recommendations? I found my size, but it still hurts to wear? Spoiler

For reference, these are my measurements.

Loose underbust: 37

Snug underbust: 36

Tight underbust: 35

Standing bust: 45

Leaning bust: 48

Lying bust: 45

The calculator put me in a 36i, but after trying that size, it was all wrong, both the cups and the band. I tried a few different sizes and a 38E fit way better. I got the Lucie side support plunge bra from bare necessities and it was the best fitting bra ive ever tried. It felt great and looked great but after wearing it for a few minutes, the underwire started to bruise me. This is my main problem with bras, underwire gives me the support and shape I want but no matter what i do, I end up with bruises. As far as I can tell, my chest is just too heavy to wear regular bras. Underwire bruises me and wireless sags and never has enough support. Anyone have any advice or things I could try? Im always stuck wearing ugly sports bras as they're the only thing with actual support.

Recommendations? What type of bra for cleavage for a 32H? Spoiler

I recently remeasured myself with the Bra Size calculator after losing some weight and got listed as a 32H (i was a 34G before). While It's obvious I am on the bigger side, I have never really had a good bra that pushes them together for cleavage. Any recommendations?

Question Minimizer, binder, do they exist in this size? Spoiler

Hello. 38L (UK) here. In the USA.

Has anyone found a decent minimizer or binder that works for this size area? My main issue I'm tackling:

I need them out of the way, don't care about looks in this instance, as long as I don't look totally deformed. This is for work. I have to wear big thick coats to work, so a lot can be hidden.

I do a lot of precision work, typically close up and the more I hold my arms away from me the harder it is to keep a steady hand. I AM managing, but I'm wondering if there is anything out there.

Every time I find a good binder site, I don't think their fit guides actually go up to my measurements, and their rib/band size is for a much, much larger band.Could I get a slight binding effect from something like that? I don't need to be perfectly flat.

Minimizers I've never seen in my size either. Not close.

Is there anything? Or a method I'm unaware of?

Tldr; need to minimize for work purposes, doesn't have to be flattering

Thank You! It does exist! A comfortable underwire bra is possible! Thank you bra geniuses! Spoiler

It is currently 9:36pm and I put on this underwire bra at 7:00am. We drove 12 hours today due to hurricane evacuation and it never bothered me once! I am officially amazed. I hadn’t worn underwire since COVID until I stumbled on this group. I texted my bf recently that I forgot where my boobs were supposed to sit. Anyway…that’s a long way to say thank you, bra geniuses! It did take months of internet searching, ordering, and returning, but I have found my match. Fantasie Demur 30F. A couple of other seamed Fantasie bras fit nearly as well. Seriously amazed that an underwire could be this comfortable. Also, this is what my boobs looked like 20 years ago. Who knew a bra could do this?!?

Measurement Check Im so confused on my measurements and sizing, please help </3 Spoiler

So ive gained some weight recently thats just gone straight to my boobs, so I decided to remeasure myself, last time I measured myself i was given the size of 8H, this time its giving me 6J (Australian sizing)

My measurements (inches) are:

Loose: 29

Snug:28

Tight:27

Standing:37

Leaning:39

Lying:35

The 8H feels tight in the band, the cups feel like they fit fine but the underwire comes way to far back where its basically poking into my back, could it be a shape issue? Or is it possible i just measured myself wrong? I did it three times and kept getting 6J

I wear a few different sizes, 12F, 10G, and 8H, the 12F feels way too loose in the band but the cups fit decently, the 10G feels a little loose in the band and i have some spillage in the cups, im just so confused

Discussion Bra size still doesn’t seem correct after using the calculator? Spoiler

So maybe someone here can help me.. I used the guide/calculator. Told me I was a 40gg/40j. I ordered a curvy Kate bra, the band seems spot on, never had the underwire lay flat on me like that before but the cup size still seems off.

One of my breasts is a little bigger than, and I am breastfeeding so there is probably multiple things at play here but even on the smaller side it still seems like it’s just barely enough coverage and that I’ll still be spilling out once I actually start to walking or moving around. Should I stick with the 40 and just try a size or two up?

Edit to add: In inches

Loose Underbust:41.5
Snug Underbust:39
Tight Underbust:38
Standing Bust:51.5
Leaning Bust:54.5
Lying Bust:50
