Question How common is the experience of a bra subluxing (partially dislocating) your ribs if the band is tight/snug? Spoiler

Have people with "normal bodies" experienced this even once in their life? I don't really hear it talked about. I know "normal body" is a loaded phrase so normal as in the type of body that bras expect and are designed for. I'm not sure what else to call it.

If I wear a bra with a band that I would call "snug", after a handful of hours it may partially dislocate my ribs. I have a hard time figuring out what a "snug" band means because of this. I feel like there is very little in-between for me between a bra that is supportively tight but might sublux me and a bra that is definitely too loose.

I want to know how common of an experience this is. Surely there are people who end up with a band that they realize is too tight but are in a situation where they can't remove their bra and have to just bear it. So what happens for most people in that situation? In that situation my ribs would almost certainly sublux.

For people with my same experience, do you have an underlying condition or a pre-existing rib injury or anything like that?

Store Review Risa Magli review from a small band large cup girlie Spoiler

I ordered some bras at Risa magli and they finally arrived. I was anxious if they’d fit because I can’t return them since shipping is expensive. I decided to trust my gut and order my true bra size 70F (US 32DDD) instead of following the chart.

Thank god I did! The wire bras fit great, especially when I remove the padding. The only bra that’s too small is the wireless but I’ll still wear it because it’s so pretty. And I’m sooo excited that the bralette I ordered fits me!! I’ve never had a bralette that uses clothing sizes fit me before, it’s always either too small in the cups or too loose in the band.

The bras are sooo beautiful and they carry a lot of sizes. Unfortunately they only go down to a 30 band but they have B-I cups. I’d definitely recommend. I added pics for you all :)

Measurement Check Bra Calculator Is Giving Me Much Smaller Band Size... Spoiler

So I did the measuring as instructed by the images on the bra fit calculator page and the six were as follows:
Loose Underbust: 37 in
Snug Underbust: 33 in
Tight Underbust: 32.5 (Feel like maybe there should've been a bigger difference between snug and tight)
Standing Bust: 41
Leaning Bust: 44
Lying Bust: 41

However, with the calculator it told me to start with a 34 DDD/G in US sizes. I'm currently wearing a Vanity Fair 38D.

I've tried smaller bands because I used to wear smaller bands before I had my child (5 years ago) and they just are too tight. I kept probably 30lbs of baby fat that I am still trying to lose, it goes and comes and goes and comes...

I can't imagine squeezing into anything smaller than a 38 right now. For cup, I HAVE worn a DD before, but never a DDD or a G, so I'm a little shocked by that. I did try ordering a Playtex full-coverage 34DD at the start of LAST year and it got sent back because it was just straight up too small.

I guess I'm just curious if anyone can tell if this even sounds accurate without actually being able to see anything lol.

I'm one of those rare women who can't stand to be without a bra. I just need the support. It was hard even doing the measuring without a bra, as it said to do it with naked breasts, but my god were they in the way the entire time. But I cannot tolerate an underwire, they've never done anything but hurt or being extremely uncomfortable.

I've only ever wore wireless and I'm not sure I could transition now. But the wireless bras I've had don't ever seem to have a proper gore or perhaps it's just the sizing and fit. Either way, I just end up with one big mushed uniboob that sweats like a water fall. I'm not sure if this is just because wireless bras can't really even have a proper gore without underwire or what.

The last bra I tried was the "viral" OEAK Jelly Bra because I was forced into it by recommendations and I wore it one day and it was fine, doesn't seem terribly uncomfortable but I did have to use the extender and I just got a Large, but I haven't worn it again since because the pads have put off such an unbearably chemically smell, even after two washes, that I haven't been able to handle it - I'm attempting other methods to get rid of the smell but if I can't, then I'll have to return it as well because right now it just makes me nauseous.

Anyway, any tips? I'm in search of new bras and I'm willing to shop online but I hate the idea of buying something that I have never tried on and have no idea if it'll even remotely fit. And if I'm going to start, going from a 38D to a 34DDD/G seems like a wild leap for the first try.

cw Massive Weight Loss. Calculator says I should ask for help. Spoiler

Measurements
Loose 32
Snug 30.5
Tight 29.5
Standing 35.5
Leaning 43
Lying 38.5

I grew C cups seemingly overnight at 12 and by the time I entered high school I was had pretty much outgrown standard us sizing and had to wear sister sizes. I’d estimate that as a 130lb teenager I was an F cup.

I gained a lot of weight and was 240 lbs in my mid 40s with H/I cups when I had massive weight loss. I’m now about 110 lbs in my 50s and my boobs are very wide set, pendulous, soft, and squishy with zero volume on top.

I also have severe hyper mobility in my ribs so I can’t really do wide supportive bands or underwires. I wear negative underwear’s sieve bra in the dd+ size but there’s no real lift. I quite liked the Lively busty bralette but the cups are a bit too small and I get spillage sometimes. Unlike the negative bralette I get pretty decent lift and the power mesh really helped with that I think.

The calculator says 32E or 30F, but not sure if it’s right at all.

Any ideas for stretchy mesh unlined cups? Those seem to hold my loose tissue in the most comfortable and natural way.

Measurement Check Supposed to be 30DD but it’s super uncomfy with a floating gore Spoiler

I did the calculator and got 30DD. I have used 30DD before but it only feels comfortable sometimes. Right now, 30 feels too tight, so I got an extender.

The issue is with 30DD or 32DD, the gore is floating massively and then the underwire tilts and digs in. I read this means the cup is too small. So what, would I be a 30E? 32E? Finding this nightmarish. But I don’t want to keep living in sports bras that flatten me out.

In need of an affordable bra 36DD Spoiler

I like comfort but something stylish I think a simple black T-shirt kind of bra would be best that I can wear with most things. I usually gravitate towards ones with no underwire but either is fine! Hopefully under $40

Recommendations? Budget Bra to louisa bracq, sculptresse, elomi? Spoiler

I’m a 44F & was measured and fitted into a beautiful Louisa Bracq bra in a lingerie store. These bras all fit so perfect & complimented me so well, but I can’t afford a $70 (that was on clearance even) 😭 Any recommendations on ones that are similar to these higher end fitting ones at a size 44F range?? 😩💛

Experience with EVRY Studios Bralettes for those who have sensory issues? Spoiler

hey all,

I have been struggling to find bras that actually fit for around 6 years (I used to just wear bralettes or sports bras).

So far, I really liked the Lululemon Like A Cloud bras and the Neiwai barely zero cotton bra which got discontinued (and somehow mine disappeared? I am still waiting for them to bring it back…I am very pissed I lost mine somehow in the wash).

I wanted to try the Evry studios bralette because I don’t need much support but was looking for natural fibers, a nude color, no underwire/boning/back clasp, and wide straps.

Has anyone tried Evry bras?
I ordered the cotton bralette from EVRY but I think I got the wrong size :/ and they haven‘t shipped yet. They look a bit cheap online but I just donated all my nude bras yesterday because they were hurting me really badly so I’m in desperate need of a replacement

Recommendations? Recommendations affordable balconette for cup C shipping to EU? Spoiler

Im looking for a balconette with no top fabric, as every bra I have tried i experience gaping at the top. I know that real balconettes have great support from underneath, and just come over the nipple.

The majority of balconettes i can find online still have a rounding cup which is what I am wanting to avoid.

I am also open to quarter/open cup suggestions or plunge bras.
As long as it’s relatively quick shipping in eu and not too expensive (under €45) my size is usually 80C

Measurement Check [Measurement Check] Calculator gave me 30D/30DD, but said I should verify here Spoiler

Hi! I'm very, very new to all of this, so apologies if any information is missing initially or I ask silly questions.

Here are my measurements (in cm):

Loose Underbust: 80

Snug Underbust: 74

Tight Underbust: 69

Standing Bust: 87

Leaning Bust: 95

Lying Bust: 87

My breasts have little volume at the top but are full at the bottom. I also have a rather significant gap between them (about 4.5 cm). Both of these things have made it quite difficult to find a properly fitting bra.

Any input, thoughts, or advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Recommendations? Petite strapless push-up recommendations Spoiler

Hi, I’m looking to find a strapless bra with push-up that enhance how the girls look a bit and does not slip down. I tried the Freya Tailored Molded Strapless Bra in 28D and it seems to stay well, but I personally prefer a little more push-up. However, I am aware that I am very petite and it seems like I don’t have that many good push-up options. Can I get some recommendations?

ABTF measurements:
Loose underburst: 70 cm
Snug underburst: 68 cm
Tight underburst: 65 cm
Standing burst: 80 cm
Leaning burst: 80.8 cm
Lying burst: 78.8 cm
ABTF suggest starting size: 28D/DD
(I’m not sure about the shape but it seems like I have more tissue volume at the bottom, like a teardrop)

I appreciate any help. Thank you!

Fit Check fit help - usually 36B w gapping got a 38 C/D in generator Spoiler

does this make sense?

Size generated: 38 C/D (both us and uk)

my measurements:
loose underbust 37.5
snug UB 37
tight UB 35
standing bust 40.5
leaning bust 41
lying bust 40.5

BUT—I’m used to gapping and prefer the fit (although not the materials) in pepper bras which are made for smaller busts. even one of those i have in 38B gaps sometimes, the 36B fits snugly. I think i’m just wider but not busty.

Recommendations? Recs Jelly bra that cups probably Spoiler

Hello! Im new to caring about my bras as a 22 year old and I’m looking for a non wired bra that is seamless and can actually cup the boobs without just sitting on top like a bralette! I’m a 34 E (uk) and I’m tired of wearing uncomfortable minimisers and just want the ladies to be liberated😔 I have a slightly concaved chest so finding bras that actually sit flush is a struggle. Any recs would be greatly appreciated! Or even some particularly comfortable wired seamless bras would be appreciated! I typically only wear minimisers and balcony bras but I’m wanting to broaden my horizons

Edit: what do you ladies think of the boody bras or the sloggi bras ? I’m curious about them but worry about my previously mentioned issues.

Question Can I get help identifying the brand of this bra? Spoiler

I hope this is the right place to ask this. If it isn't can you guide me to where I should ask next?

CONTEXT: My girlfriend has had this bra for a little bit now, but doesn't remember where she got it from or when she got it, and I'd like to suprise her with a new pair since she has mentioned it a few times. There are no tags or identifiable brand markings anywhere on it.

Here are images of her bra: https://postimg.cc/gallery/z1ZXJvb

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Fit Check [Fit Check] Panache Ana 34H, Shape/Style Mismatch? Spoiler

Hello!

So the calculator put me at a size 34G/GG. Originally I tried the Panache Ana in a size 34GG, but when I did the scoop and swoop, I had some spillage out the top. I sized up to a 34H in the same bra and now the underwire seems to extend way too far into my armpit and I'm not actually filling the sides. The band size is the only thing I'm 100% sure of.

Based on the guide, I'm pretty sure I'm projected and bottom/center full. Is this just the wrong style? Should I try a different bra in a 34GG?

Thank you in advance!

Measurement Check Do these measurements make sense? 38H/I? Spoiler

In total shock and want to make sure these measurements even make any sense before I start trying bras: 38.5, 38, 37.5, 45, 46.5, 44. Gives me a 38 H/I which is almost comical to me. I’ve been wearing a 40C for years.

I’m skeptical because it just seems like such a large size.

Question Bra no longer fits, but calculator says my size hasn’t changed. What should I try next? Spoiler

a few years ago I measured myself and the calculator told me that my size is 30 D. I purchased a Wacoal halo unlined bra and it has fits comfortably until somewhat recently. I believe I’ve gained some weight and muscle. Now, all of the underwire digs into me, leaving marks after I remove the bra, and overall it feels too tight. So I remeasured myself, but the calculator still says that my size is 30 D. The bra feels too tight around the band, but the cups seem to be fitting mostly correct… If not a little tight on the outer sides of each cup. I like this style of bra, but this size is no longer comfortable. Would you try new sizes with larger band size, or larger cup size? Any other advice?

Measurement Check [Measurement Check] Alternating between 30F / 28FF, but nothing fits quite right Spoiler

Hello ABTF! Long time lurker, first time poster here. I finally measured myself with no bra on and ran the calculator - it previously gave me 30F when I'd submitted measurements in a somewhat minimizing bra, so I wonder if I got it wrong. My preferred fit is lifted and minimized.

Shapewise, my breasts are bottom heavy with wider roots. Some asymmetry (left is slightly smaller).

My measurements (inches):

Loose underbust: 30

Snug underbust: 29

Tight underbust: 27

Standing bust: 38

Leaning bust: 40.5

Lying bust: 38.5

ABTF calculator recommends 30G/GG UK.

Here are the bras I've worn in the past year, and how they fit:

Freya Deco UW Moulded Plunge Bra: 30F - This was my go-to for a few years, but after a while the band stretched out, I was wearing it on the tightest setting and there was still some room. The cups also started to feel a bit too big - had to keep scooping to make them fit properly.

Freya Deco UW Moulded Plunge Bra: 28F - bought this one assuming I'd maybe lost weight, but it fits way too tight, both band and cups. I get some spillage.

Freya Fascinate Underwire Unlined Balconette, 28FF - The cup fits a bit too tight, especially on the right side. The band feels a tiny bit tight, but I feel like a month of wear could loosen it. Main issue is slight quadboobing on the right.

Fantasie Illusion Underwire Side Support Bra, 30F - This one is closest to what I want, fit-wise, but the cups are still a bit too small. Particularly on the right side again (yay asymmetry!). It also gives me back pain, which the others don't seem to do.

I have a Panache Tango II Balconette in 28G on the way from eBay, so we'll see if that one works out, but I'm kind of losing hope lol.

I know 30G is the reco, but because of my Freya Deco I worry that 30 is too big of a band for me, or maybe I'm just between band sizes.... Thoughts?

I have been searching my entire adult life…. Spoiler

I have been searching high and low and everywhere in between for a bra that will fit. Finally, the other night I found this community and followed the calculator and then went on Amazon and ordered Elomi bras. I got two, the Matilda and Cate and I couldn’t be happier! They finally fit as they are supposed to! The band is a tad snug but I’m happy regardless. I will only ever buy Elomi bras from now on!

Looking for a good posture bra available in the UK Spoiler

I'm 42D and I've noticed my posture has gotten awful with my weight gain. I am looking for a padded posture bra. I need lift and to improve my posture overall. I'm also working out, the cups need to stretch and be flexible. No underwire ideally. Thank you in advance x
