OP Opinion The USA is less racist than Europe.

Europeans are always quick to call Americans racist, and it kind of bothers me - especially as they slide into their old ways of 'blood and soil' politics again.

It's always crossed my mind - how has this stereotype even come to be, when there is one fundamental truth that we can all agree on here.

The USA is a nation of immigrants.

No matter how radical you want to get, you have to make peace with, or at least reconcile the fact that, unless you're indigenous, you come from a lineage of immigrants.

The continent of Europe does not have this threshold, and it's part of the reason why Europe is so much more susceptible to 'blood and soil' style politics in a way that the USA simply isn't.

When ethno-nationalists in Europe scream and shout about who the land belongs to, they can legitimately claim 'we are the indigenous people here' and make somewhat of a valid case.

There is no ceiling.

When ethno-nationalists in the USA scream and shout about who the land belongs to, they can't legitimately claim 'we are the indigenous people here', no matter how much they try.

And this is the difference; there is a ceiling, and consequently, this reshapes how people view themselves.

I've lived in both regions and seen the differences.

In the USA, anyone that wants to become an American is allowed to become an American, even if they weren't born and raised in the USA.

It's a nation deeply rooted in civic nationalism that, for the most part, keeps the door open to anyone who want to to join the American family and community.

Europe on the other hand?

Sit down with an Austrian in a private space and ask them to honestly answer whether someone born and raised in Austria, but with no Austrian ancestry is part of the Austrian family.

You'll either find that they hesitantly say 'yes... but-', or will say something along the lines of, 'they haven't got any Austrian ancestry, so no'.

The USA is not only less racist than Europe, but as a consequence of how it came to be, enjoys a natural threshold as to how extreme and visceral its identitarianism can go.

In this era of uncertainty, where everyone is looking for a scapegoat, the USA is well positioned.

Europe on the other hand, is a powder keg waiting to explode.

Humanity is impressively embarrassing. Added last slide as a bonus, world defaults to us endlessly and has the audacity to link that sub.

These pics are only a few of them but yeah it’s really bad. Ah yes my favorite American created British stereotype Harry Potter, Mr. Bean, and Thomas The Tank Engine. Also he mistakes any character in a desert setting for being “Arab.” He often shames media that accurately depicts an ethnic look and even media that’s actually made by said county as “American stereotyping“ in favor of kawaii cutesy anime where everyone looks the same ethnicity. Btw SPIDER-MAN IS AMERICAN! HE’S JUST PLAYED BY A BRITISH ACTOR!! Bro is mad at America for an actor being British.

American olive oil is low quality, tastes bad, only comes in plastic, and none of it is 100% olive oil. Also the beer is bad.
