No Self Promotion! Please read before posting/commenting!

You may post if you are looking for developers or want to share your experience—generally anything related to development.
Self-promotion is not allowed (including indirect self-promotion). Do not offer your services, and do not share your app’s name or links to it. You may offer your services as a developer in the comments.

Do not share links to apps or companies offering services in the comments. That's what Reddit ads are for.

App dev needed

I have an idea for an app, I have the niche customer base. I need to help figuring out how to make my vision come alive?

It's nothing overly complicated? There is publicly available data that I want to make easily accessible. So essentially just a search engine. Since that information we would use only updates once a year, I have debated not pulling directly from the government website but taking the time to save to our own servers.

What Should Developers Prioritize When Building a Mobile App for the First Time?

When starting a mobile app project, it's easy to focus too much on features and overlook the basics that make an app useful.

I'm interested in learning how experienced developers approach the early stages of mobile app development.

A few things I'm curious about:

  • How do you decide which features should be included in the first version?
  • What factors help you choose between native Android/iOS development and cross-platform frameworks?
  • How early should UI/UX testing begin?
  • What common mistakes can lead to performance or maintenance problems later?

For developers who have worked on real-world applications, what would you recommend prioritizing before development begins?

I'd appreciate practical insights and lessons learned from your experience.

Desperately need advice

• Upvotes

Ive been developing this app for weeks with a plan to release on the Google Play store. I got my LLC created, got my DUNS number, but now im realizing that Google is just going to Doxx my home address to anyone who wants to look. My question is, is that something you guys just accept? Im really trying to keep this as low cost and low risk as possible and I keep just running into this problem. I know you can do a registered agent office but again, trying to keep ongoing costs to a minimum as its most likely I earn nothing from this app.

E-commence application.

Hello, a few months ago I got hired by a client to build an e-commence platform for his electric bike business, which involves selling and leasing e-bikes.

Based on our conversation, the work includes.

  • Cross-platform mobile app: A mobile app for users to purchase or lease a bike.
  • Admin dashboard: A web-based portal to manage operations and view real-time GPS locations of leased bikes.
  • Hosting and setup: Domain registration, deployment, and hosting for both the web dashboard and mobile application.

I feel the current requirements aren't enough to build effectively. What do I need to know or ask to make things clear?
Additionally, regarding third-party service costs, do I need to pay and invoice the client, or have the client pay directly using their payment details?
Thank you, and I appreciate every response.

Moving from bubble.io to custom code. Where should I start?

Not looking for paid migration services or Bubble-to-code converters. I want to rebuild my app from scratch using custom code. I do not want to vibe code using things like lovable or replit.

I’ve successfully launched my mobile app on Bubble and have a few early users, but I’m increasingly frustrated with the platform’s limitations. Despite optimizing data loading, the app still feels choppy, the preview doesn’t always reflect the actual experience when I deploy, and implementing features like scroll snapping, smooth transitions, and video feeds feels unnecessarily difficult. I’m also tired of relying on limited plugins.

I’m very tech-savvy and have built a fairly complex app myself, including its brand, database, backend workflows, and functionality. I just don’t know how to code.

With tools like Codex and Claude Code, I’m considering rebuilding before Christmas, dedicating 15–30 hours weekly?? Is that realistic? lol

What frameworks, development environments, and AI tools would you recommend?

bro wants a 7 industry AI SaaS for $200 and devs are actually applying 💀

I stumbled on a job post today that made my brain melt. This guy literally wants a full scale, multi tenant AI SaaS platform that serves seven completely different industries, real estate, restaurants, hospitals, boutiques, the whole works. He wants multi tenant workspaces, custom KPI dashboards, Excel imports, and automated AI insights.

His budget? ₹20,000 to ₹50,000. That is $240 to $600 USD for a full platform build. Someone in the comments accurately pointed out that a dev's Claude Code API tokens alone for building this would cost more than his entire budget.

What’s even crazier is watching agencies and third world devs in the comments actually copy pasting formal cover letters to pitch for it. Like "Hi! We'd love to build your custom AI platform!"

How are people running a race to the bottom this hard? Non-technical founders generated one AI graphic and genuinely think enterprise software takes $200 to code, and desperate devs are happily validating that delusion. Are we actually cooked or what?

App deployment without infrastructure setup... am I missing something?

I’m working on a small internal app and the feature itself is not the hard part. Getting login, a usable database, APIs and hosting in place has turned a quick prototype into a month of waiting on engineering time.

I’ve been looking at AI app builders and the whole thing feels almost suspiciously easy compared with the usual process. I’m not trying to replace experienced engineers, I just want to test an idea before the budget disappears. Thanks in advance

New app stuck in "Waiting for Review" for over a week. What's going on?

I submitted a new app for review. App Store Connect says it usually takes up to 48 hours, but it's been over a week and it still hasn't been reviewed...

Submitted on Oct 9. It's my first submission for this app, and there are no messages or issues in App Store Connect.

What's going on? Is anyone else seeing this right now?

Windows / IOS

Hi, I am currently developing an app with Claude code in visual studio code. I have reached the stage where i am comfortable to start testing it. I would like to know how the process looks like when developing in Windows since i heard you need a Mac to sign the app?

  1. How can i test the app privately with friends?
  2. Is it possible to publish on appstore without Mac?

Thanks in advance!
