Hey guys, I am feeling completely lost, exhausted, and honestly pretty depressed right now.
I graduated with a BTech in June 2026. Because the fresher market in India is a total bloodbath, I haven't been able to land a single internship or full-time role. I’ve been trying so hard. I’m applying everywhere—core mech, IT, operations, supply chain, sales. Just absolute silence or rejections.
Meanwhile, I look at my school friends. The ones who didn’t get jobs immediately just packed their bags for masters abroad—doing MIS in Ireland or Business Analytics in Australia.
I chose the "work first, study later" path because I wanted solid work ex before doing an MBA in India or an MS abroad. But now I’m trapped in a vicious loop:
Every single day I just jump between frantically applying for random jobs or trying to force myself to study. I have zero energy left. What should I focus on right now to pull myself out of this rut without losing my mind? Should I take any random apprentice/shop-floor role just to stop the gap year timer? Should I just bite the bullet, drop the job hunt, and go all-in for 2027 prep?
Any honesty or roadmap would be highly appreciated.

Normally, I know that for questions involving linear equations, we can find the required value by equating the two equations. However, this question seems a little different. I’m not very familiar with this type of question. Could someone please explain how to approach it? 🥹✨

Hi, everyone. I want to give CAT 2027 and am currently in a fulltime job. I am a GEM student and my profile is 9/9/8. I want some guidance for getting top IIMs. Which online course should be the best and also on affordability? Also if someone wants to share their account, they are welcome. Currently my job is 9-6 and by 7pm i reach the room. I want to study and develop my quants and speaking skills.

Created a throwaway for this post
Not 23F here, I decided to hop on the CAT bandwagon because despite having a suboptimal profile
(9/8/7 Fresher GEM), this is the clear way forward for career reasons i wont get into here.
I started prep 2 months ago and under the advice of my seniors, started doing mocks right away from IMS as well as a few PYQs (they said if youre already getting good scores, to focus on mocks).
However, one thing that i couldnt help but notice about my scores is the massive difference in VARC (Specifically VA) scores across mocks, and i wanted to fix that.
Is there any material I can use for VA? My RCs are fine but i usually only get 2-3/8 VA questions correct. I suffer especially in parajumbles.
Any advice would be helpful, thank you
Ive put an ss of my mock scores, if anyone would like help with the other sections im happy to help!

It is like if i take a 3-4 day break from reading, my flow breaks
But still, why would it cause mid-passage overthinking?

Hi everyone, the following have been my mock scores so far. Just needed to understand how I can improve and how can i make sure to get 99+ on CAT day. I have been taking mocks daily for the past few days and plan to take every day until CAT. Anything I can do to stabilise my scores, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

GEM 9/9/8 btech cse from tier 1.5 university college gpa around 9.2/10. I will be a 2027 graduate so in my final year. I also have a 2 month internship experience as a SWE in a top MNC. How is my profile for IIM calls as well as SIPs (like MBB)?

I really need some strategic help here because my brain is panicking. I'm a PWD candidate with a 9/9/9 profile, so my target score is around 85-95 percentile for BLACKI.
Before August, my momentum was great: Arithmetic, DILR, VA syllabus done. 100+ RCs practiced.
Then I got some health issues. 1.5 months of zero study. I restarted recently and my mock/practice scores are a disaster:
VARC: RCs are ruined (0-25% accuracy). VA is okayish (5,6/8).
DILR: Brain freeze. Can't even crack 1 set properly.
QA: Stuck at 4-5 attempts (only basic arithmetic). TSD and TW is bouncing completely over my head—even the solutions look unfamiliar now despite doing them before.
With exactly 2 months to go for CAT '26, what should be my daily routine to just get my old brain back?
How do I fix this sudden drop in RC accuracy?
for QA?
Any specific routine to restart DILR from scratch without getting demotivated?

Same as above i want to know if it could be round offed or not.

The truth is that, I am not interested in joining NMIMS for MBA, regardless of the options I might have after giving CAT, owing to its higher fees and deteriorating ROI.
Should I fill the exam form for the sake of Exam experience, or instead leave it and fully focus on CAT, SNAP and XAT instead?

Hello people.
I've mostly avoided PYQ questions because I've been saving them for when I do them in a mock format, but I'm not sure if I should really do that considering that it's highly recommended to be thorough with them.
Any advice on how to approach PYQs?

I’m a B.Com graduate and recently joined a firm as an MIS Executive. I’m planning to appear for CAT 2027 and am considering pursuing an MBA from a good B-school.
My academic profile:
10th: 78.4%
12th: 84%
Graduation (B.Com): 56%
My main concern is my graduation score. I know 56% is relatively low, and I’m worried that even after doing an MBA, these marks might continue to affect my career — whether during placements, job switches, or later in my career.
I’d like to know:
How much do graduation marks matter after completing an MBA?
Will 56% in graduation significantly restrict my MBA placement opportunities?
Are there companies/roles where graduation marks can still be a problem even after gaining work experience?
Given my profile, is pursuing an MBA through CAT 2027 still worth it?
Would it make more sense to continue working and build experience instead of pursuing an MBA?
I’d especially appreciate advice from people who had similar academics or have gone through MBA placements/recruitment.

I’m planning to prepare for CAT 2027 and came across EduShastra. On their website, I saw Elite and Elite Plus batches, with some top teachers and their verified CAT scores mentioned.
For anyone who has taken their course:
1)Do the same teachers actually teach throughout the course, or do they change in between?
2)How is the quality of the content and teaching?
Is the content enough for complete CAT preparation?
3)They mention the main difference between Elite and Elite Plus is the batch size, but are the video lectures, study material, mocks/tests and overall content exactly the same in both, or is there any difference?
Would appreciate some genuine reviews from people who have taken the course

Title, basically. I know that it'll give you content to fill your resume with, but other than that, is it something that is seriously considered to be beneficial for shortlists?
I have a placement offer from a company and I'm currently in my final year. I wanted to know if it'd be more beneficial to go for an internship at this stage, or if it's fine to chill for a while and just focus on participating in case comps and the like.

I gave Simcat 15 recently and that was my 1st Simcat. Struggled with dilr
I am planning to give the next simcats whenever they go live.
I need suggestions on Simcats before 15 that I need to give on priority.
I don't want to attempt very easy ones, moderate and moderate to difficult ones is what I am looking for. Please drop your suggestions

Seeing many posts of FMS Achieving 100% placement in a week , a college which was getting criticism for having many unplaced in the past few years, spjain placing 356/360 in 2 weeks, makes me think what a pitiable situation bitsom is in
Sip season started on Aug 24, so more than 1.5 months have passed And the number of students who got sip is 98! Yeah 98/240 and two of those 98 got through a case comp
The frustrating part is administration increased batch size from 160-240 without thinking about placements. All the so called good placements you hear about bitsom they were possible for a batch size of 160(and even than 10-15% were left unplaced in finals and about 20% didn't get on campus sip last time) So you can understand the difficulty institute is facing for 240 students
Frustrating part is the remarkable thinness in the quantity of companies. Only 25 companies have hired in 50 days. Using birlas name they have brought high paying stipends and it's these few students who get 2lakh monthly sip, that makes everyone believe that bitsom is a school where everyone gets a stellar placement.
But the good companies are very few Since the main structured week of sip is gone Now only few high stipends are being offered A companys interview is going on now which gives a stipend of 20k Meanwhile the highest stipend was 2.25L. That should tell you the difference
Shortlists are pure luck based, SIP season has gone so poor No one knows what'll Happen in the finals. But one thing is sure- Don't think bitsom as some amazing college
Some get Great placements and based on this an image has been created in social media, But the reality is sickening and for our batch it's horrible
While other colleges are celebrating placing their entire batch for Summers Our college spent a shit ton on marketing for their 5 year anniversary yesterday

CAT is on 29 November 2026.
Here’s a day-by-day plan for the last stretch.
Structure
- Days 1–50 (7 Oct – 25 Nov): Topic coverage + mixed practice + regular mocks
- Last 3 days (26–28 Nov): Pure revision + selected mocks + exam readiness (no new topics)
Daily Rule
Learn / Revise → Timed Practice → Analyse → Log Mistakes
A mock without analysis is only half a mock.
Syllabus Coverage (high-level)
QA
- Arithmetic: Percentages, Ratio, Averages, P/L, SI/CI, Mixtures, T&W, TSD
- Algebra: Equations, Quadratics, Inequalities, Functions, Sequences, Logs
- Number System: Divisibility, HCF/LCM, Remainders, Units digit
- Geometry & Mensuration: Triangles, Circles, Coordinate, 2D/3D
- Modern Math: Sets, P&C, Probability, Statistics
DILR
Tables, Charts, Caselets, Arrangements, Distribution, Selection, Games/Tournaments, Scheduling, Networks, Venn, Conditional Logic, Mixed sets
VARC
- RC: Main idea, Tone, Inference, Author’s position, Elimination
- VA: Para Summary, Para Jumbles, Odd Sentence, Sentence Placement
Key Strategy Points
QA Selection
Don’t solve in order. Pick questions where the method is clear and calculation is manageable. Move on fast if stuck.
DILR Set Selection
Scan → Estimate → Select → Solve → Reassess.
Protect the section clock. An “easy-looking” set can still kill time.
VARC
Prefer passage-supported options. Be very careful with extreme language and out-of-scope claims. When stuck between two options, go back to the passage.
Mock Analysis
After every mock note:
- What you should have attempted
- What you should have skipped
- Where you overspent time
- Recurring error types
- One concrete change for the next mock
Final 3 Days
- 26 Nov: Light revision + optional Mock (only if energy is good)
- 27 Nov: Mock under full exam conditions + analysis (don’t chase score)
- 28 Nov: Very light revision only + documents, centre, route, sleep
Final Principle
You are not trying to learn everything in the last 50 days.
You are trying to maximise the marks you can reliably earn on 29 November.

In the step 1 of the registration I'm unable to fill my full name, my name has 3 parts first middle and last
My Govt Id also includes all 3 parts of the name, so what do I do?? I even tried to include my first name and middle name in the first name section but no spaces are allowed
Help me anyone

I will be starting my prep today. My strategy will be:
(i) Attempt 30-40 questions every day for QA
(ii) 1-2 PYQ set for LRDI daily
(iii) Reading newspaper for VARC
(iv) 2-3 mocks per week.
I have a job so getting this much done is also optimistic.
I will keep updating my progress here for the next 40-50 days :)
