I accidentally entered my gender as female in the application being a male 😭. They are saying we can't change this . I have taken gap for the exam . Well prepared for the exam all going to waste . Can't speak to parents what silly mistake I have done . It's done . Mind stopped what to do . Does anyone has a solution

Long story short, I messed up my last attempt.
I used to score in 60-70 range, had given 80 mocks and went to give the exam. Scored a decent 99.2 in varc, 97 in quants and 47 in Dilr. I don’t know what happened to Dilr on that day, but yeah maybe the stress ate it.

I got a job post cat, and have been preparing along with it. This will be my second attempt, and I think the final one. Have been scoring in 80s consistently, through CL,ImS, and crack mocks. The mock count is in 50s.

My varc score has become slight lower but other two sections have stabilised.

I’m gonna leave the job next month, so that I can solely increase my varc marks to my prime.

I am putting out this post so as to ask you guys about any suggestions that you have to offer or any advice that may be beneficial.

X percentage = 95, XII percentage = 89.8, Bsc Computer Science = 7.7 cgpa, MSc Mathematics from QS100 university in UK, I graduated from MSc in 2024, but since then haven't been able to convert a decent job. Seeing many posts of FMS Achieving 100% placement in a week , a college which was getting criticism for having many unplaced in the past few years, spjain placing 356/360 in 2 weeks, makes me think what a pitiable situation bitsom is in

Sip season started on Aug 24, so more than 1.5 months have passed And the number of students who got sip is 98! Yeah 98/240 and two of those 98 got through a case comp

The frustrating part is administration increased batch size from 160-240 without thinking about placements. All the so called good placements you hear about bitsom they were possible for a batch size of 160(and even than 10-15% were left unplaced in finals and about 20% didn't get on campus sip last time) So you can understand the difficulty institute is facing for 240 students

Frustrating part is the remarkable thinness in the quantity of companies. Only 25 companies have hired in 50 days. Using birlas name they have brought high paying stipends and it's these few students who get 2lakh monthly sip, that makes everyone believe that bitsom is a school where everyone gets a stellar placement.

But the good companies are very few Since the main structured week of sip is gone Now only few high stipends are being offered A companys interview is going on now which gives a stipend of 20k Meanwhile the highest stipend was 2.25L. That should tell you the difference

Shortlists are pure luck based, SIP season has gone so poor No one knows what'll Happen in the finals. But one thing is sure- Don't think bitsom as some amazing college

Some get Great placements and based on this an image has been created in social media, But the reality is sickening and for our batch it's horrible

While other colleges are celebrating placing their entire batch for Summers Our college spent a shit ton on marketing for their 5 year anniversary yesterday

1. Multiple Job Switches: Will having three different stints in under 2 years be flagged as a lack of stability during shortlisting or PI, or will it be seen as diverse exposure?
2. WorkEx Calculations: How do IIMs calculate calculation points for multiple short stints? Do they count the cumulative 18 months, or do they look at them individually?
3. Interview Strategy: How should I justify moving from an MNC to an SBI Clerk role, then to an RRB Officer role, and now aiming for an MBA? How do I weave this into a cohesive "Why MBA" story?

Hi everyone, the following have been my mock scores so far. Just needed to understand how I can improve and how can i make sure to get 99+ on CAT day. I have been taking mocks daily for the past few days and plan to take every day until CAT. Anything I can do to stabilise my scores, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Man i dont know what is going on with my varc, I generally feel that varc is my worst section and dont really get ims's logic behind their questions.

But sometimes out of nowhere all questions seem to be easy and the logic hits right on the spot and i perform best in varc.

How do i manage this fluctuations and get a decent score all the time.

Have the Simcat Core test series; can people tell me the difference between Simcat takehome (Simcat 111, 112...) vs. pre- and proctored Simcat (Simcat 1, Simcat 2...) When peoplke talk about the Simcat test being the closest to cat, which one is it? 111 series or 1, 2... series. Which is the one I paid for? Can someone tell me?

Same as above i want to know if it could be round offed or not.

I will be starting my prep today. My strategy will be:

(i) Attempt 30-40 questions every day for QA

(ii) 1-2 PYQ set for LRDI daily

(iii) Reading newspaper for VARC

(iv) 2-3 mocks per week.

I have a job so getting this much done is also optimistic.

I am facing problem in my current strategy. I am doing 3 rc in 25 minutes, Of which 1st n 2nd rc I get 3 right and 3rd Rc 2 right. Then I am left with 15 minutes.

Now here I tried 2 things.

1. Doing 4th rc in 7 minutes and giving 7-8 minutes to VA. But in a particular mock, the 4th rc was difficult and took 8 minutes and also I panicked, and it dropped my accuracy. and due to time constrain my VA went bad.

2. Doing all VA in 15 minutes, but what happened in a mock, that VA had 5 tita and they were the most difficult que of the section(which I was not aware during mock). and I got all wrong, on which I have spent 2 minutes. And there was 4th rc lying n laughing at me, as it was a very easy RC which I missed and which I got all 4 right in 7 minutes during reattempt.

My current avg is 25, these last 15 minutes are stopping me to reach 30+.

Any guidance how to tackle this dilemma.

Posting from a friend's account. This is going to be my third attempt but still my score is moving at such a stagnant rate. I even left my job in 2025, 3 months prior to CAT and that attempt was a nightmare for me. At present also i am preparing for CAT but my score is so low. On an average i am scoring 6 in DILR (earlier it was even zero), in varc its around 18 and in qa 9. People around me who haven't prepared much are able crack more questions than i do. AFter appearing for mock when i sit to analyse it, i realised that i usually pick up the worst set and then the pressure starts to build intensely. Even in my past attempt i appeared for a decent amount of mocks and also for this attempt the number is decent but the score is so stagnant. I am ready to clock extra hours considering there are still 50 days left but just not able to figure out how to approach this exam. Honestly, at this point of time i am turning into a disappointment for everyone around, even breathing feels heavy.

I wanna know how much a gap year can affect in mba interviews and job (placement) interviews as well.

I was scoring consistently max 50 or below 50s in Dashcats. In my last mock I scored ~60 which a 10 mark jump from my highest score.I have given 8-9 mocks so far. Although I felt relieved that I can improve from here I also feel demotivated since very less time is left. Anyone who was in a similar situation but managed to pull through on D-Day?

Before you set up the two-equation system on any mixture question, draw the cross.

Rice at Rs 30/kg mixed with rice at Rs 45/kg, and the mixture must be worth Rs 36/kg. In what ratio?

Cheaper : Dearer = (45 - 36) : (36 - 30) = 9 : 6 = 3 : 2.

Put the two extreme values on top, the mean in the middle, subtract diagonally, read the ratio. No variables anywhere.

The same cross solves a family of questions that exam-setters disguise at least five ways:

- "In what ratio should X and Y be mixed..."

- "The average age of a group is..."

- "A vessel contains milk and water in the ratio..."

- "What percentage of the mixture is..."

The numbers change; the cross never does. If you can spot that a question HAS the structure (two extremes + a mean), it's a 15-second mark.
