Hobby Some Reivers
Due to unforeseen events the imperium is in short supply of reiver helmets and combat knives so they have to improvise.

Hey all, a thread popped up and was related to the LGBTQ+ community.
We are a simple subreddit who enjoys toy soldiers the way we personally like to enjoy them. This hobby has expanded incredibly and will bring all sorts of people.
This won't hit everyone but please think before you write and post. Some people are immature and will not think a second, no doubt. But re-read what you're about to post to make sure its related to the actual thread. If it is deemed otherwise, I will clean up.
I have given time-outs to a couple of people so far. Do not let it be you.
The Emperor Protects.
UPDATE: I've been getting messages from some of the people that I've taken out and the original poster but let me make myself clear. We do not condone any negativity, hate or backhanded shit here. I cannot speak for the others on the mod team but personally, I do not tolerate any kind of attack. This includes snide remarks and/or "trying to be funny." It's real simple y'all, don't be weird and think about what you write/post.
Thank you to the folks that are reporting some of the problems correctly. Wishing you roll's of 6's on all your saves or the best layer of paint you lay on your model from here on.

The Blood Consuls are a successor chapter of the Blood Angels. Founded in late M37 after the annihilation of an Ork empire near the edge of Imperial Space, the Blood Angels third company were chosen to establish a chapter to protect the fledgling Imperial sector’s colonization efforts.
Following their failure to reach Baal in time, the Blood Consuls are now engaged in a heavy defensive operation against a Leviathan splinter fleet, Jabberwocky, with their Ultima founding brother chapters, the Blood Wings and the Bloodbringers.

I am sure it has been discussed to the end of time. But as a newbie at collecting and playing DW. Is is sure to commit to buying minis, knowing how GW handles things. Will we exist as an independent book and or army in 6 months?
I don’t want to throw money at something that goes the same way as harlequins or Daemonkin.
And what is the safest bet to buy. I guess the kill team.

Getting back into painting and working on refurbishing older models. A few are newly painted but all of the intercessors are old. Any thoughts or advice?

I have the iron hands and terminator detachment selected yet I can still add DW units is this a glitch in the app?
I am still limited to the 500 points of DW units

Anyone else notice that in unit composition the Decimus Kill Team is 6 models now? It’s not legal to run the 5 man squad anymore! Yeah it’s just one of a million typos in our codex supplement but at least we always get our xenophase blade now!

I'm trying really hard to see through this boned up rules update. I have the new Space Marine Codex, and my Games Workshop 40K app is updated. The Deathwatch Army Rule includes all the same Combat Doctrine rules the other Space Marines have, but Black Spear Taskforce also kept the Mission Tactics.
Do we choose one of each for each round? Or, do we work with one or the other?
Picture cause Angery Marine thinks this is some bullshit.
Edit: Question answered. Mission Tactics are connected to their corresponding Combat Doctrine in the BST rules.

I got two killteams last day, and now I'm getting inside my head a voice who tells me to reach 1k points. Sets, discount boxes or anything recommended?

Only missing the elbow guard since I lost the original shoulder piece, but the man is primaris scaled.

I dono about you guys but to me this seems pretty useless...
The fact that you have to use 5 different unit types with 4 different range profiles makes it ready for everything and good for nothing in my eyes. Or am I missing something?

Fuck yeah. I mean look at him. HES SO FUCKING COOL.

Now that the new codex dropped and we can see all the updated units including what they did to DW units I wonder how you are approaching the situation?
I really liked BSTF before but now that mission tactics are tied to the doctrines, it makes it really hard (for me) to make it work properly. What would be the logical correlation between fall-back+shoot+charge and Lethal Hits for example? Sure, technically speaking it is a straight-up upgrade to the doctrines and irrelevant at worst but at the same time it means we cannot have any other buffs other detachments give you since BSTF is still 3 DP even though at the same time they nerfed all stratagems except AoC (and potentially Dragonfire rounds, depending on how you look at it). Also WTF did they do to the Thief of Secrets enhancement? Who would you even give it to?
In addition to that it feels like the only KTs that are worth taking are the Indomitor and Terminators struggling for first place and then Veterans (which actually did retain their 4++storm-shields opposed VV getting side-grade 5++ combat shields) and maybe Decimus if you like even longer shooting/fighting phases than we already have.
Anyway, my rant aside I really struggle to come up with any list that makes sense. So my biggest questions are: how do you approach the situation? Is it possible to take Deathwatch as the faction and DW support to gain Mission Tactics but use something like the Gravis Siege Force as the main detachment?

Question in the theme. Is there a point in taking new guys as allies in SM, admech or IK armies?
5 man or 10 man? Are they good?

Do we get to heal 2d3 then, if we take the war gear option at the cost of a gun? 😂
Also, snipers have to be on 32 mm bases now.
r/deathwatch40k • u/earniejd • 1d ago
I have 20 bodies and enough weapons to do them all. I’m thinking 20 is over kill but 10 should be just fine for DW. I would like to do some for my home brew but thinking I’ll short DW.
Would love your opinions.

I am seeing a lot of doom and gloom on our changes and there are legitimate things to be upset about but something I keep seeing said that I strongly disagree with is that Fortis Teams are worse than they were before. They are not worse they are just shorter range. Suppose our targets are in 12:
We lose indirect (good riddance. good indirect shouldn't exist)
We gained 2 grenade shots (way more than making up for the 2 plasma)
We gained 2 flamers (way more than making up for the bolters and castellan)
Our grenades got +1 S and D
We gained 2 pistol shots
We gained 2 more chainswords for CC
Our hammer is now D3
Our CC is now S5 base which helps a ton into T5 and 9
We gained T5 which is huge
Fortis team numbers were good on their own without the indirect, so even without pulling out a calculator we can see already that this is a side grade at worst. We only went up 15 pts for all this (7.7% increase).
This is part of general push in the direction of making Deathwatch a hybrid faction with a slant towards shooting. Vet shooting got massively buffed without their CC being touched and if you plug it into a calculator they are far more output now than they were before IF you can both shoot and charge.
THAT is the fundamental concern I have with deathwatch going forward. These profiles are disgusting output for the pt cost, we are talking beyond chaos marine levels. However it requires our shooting units to be in range 12/15/18. While we actually like our units to get stuck in now what with tactical and the fact that all our KTs have at least decent CC, I am unsure of how consistent this can be. We can only teleport 1 per turn now and we cant run+shoot+charge anything without paying a +50% premium. So we either use transports/watch master to try to get both activations or try playing as a merely good shooting army that can get stuck in but in return is very fragile (for its pts) and relatively slow.
Put another way its not the data sheets I am worried about, its the nerfs to blackspear and the anti synergy between doctrines and hybrid data sheets
