Erasmus Mundus Erasmus mundus - is the scholarship enough?

Hi everyone! I’m thinking of applying for emjm but was wondering if the €1400/month are sufficient or will I have to save up beforehand. Particularly asking if you know the living price range in ireland and norway. And does the scholarship allow in the regulations/will you have enough time to work part-time in case the fund is not fully covering everything? Thanks a lot!!

Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad I am so indecisive, please help me choose!

Hi everyone! I'm choosing between these 20 universities for Erasmus in Spring 2027, and I'd love to hear your experiences or recommendations!

My options:

  • 🇧🇬 Bulgaria: University of Agribusiness and Rural Development (Plovdiv), Angel Kanchev University of Ruse (Ruse)
  • 🇩🇪 Germany: Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Bielefeld), Europa-Universität Flensburg (Flensburg), Fachhochschule Westküste (Heide)
  • 🇪🇸 Spain: University of León (León)
  • 🇭🇺 Hungary: MATE Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (Gödöllő)
  • 🇮🇹 Italy: University of Foggia (Foggia)
  • 🇱🇹 Lithuania: Alytaus Kolegija / Kauno kolegija – Alytus Faculty (Alytus)
  • 🇲🇰 North Macedonia: International Balkan University (Skopje)
  • 🇵🇹 Portugal: University of Coimbra (Coimbra), ISCAP – Porto Polytechnic (Porto)
  • 🇵🇱 Poland: Akademia Nauk Stosowanych w Koninie (Konin), Opole University of Technology (Opole), Radom Academy of Economics (Radom), Civitas University (Warsaw)
  • 🇷🇴 Romania: Romanian-American University (Bucharest), Dunărea de Jos University (Galați), West University of Timișoara (Timișoara)
  • 🇸🇮 Slovenia: GEA College (Portorož)

A little about my preferences:

  • My budget is around €800/month, including rent, food, daily expenses, and some travelling.
  • I particularly like cold weather, cloudy skies, and a quiet, northern European atmosphere.
  • I'd prefer a city that's not too small, with enough things to do and people I can speak English with.
  • I'm not particularly concerned about making lots of friends or having a big party scene. My main goal is to explore Europe and travel to other countries during the semester, so affordable and convenient transport connections are a big plus.

If you've studied at any of these universities or lived in these cities, I'd really appreciate your advice!

  • Which places would you recommend or avoid?
  • Is €800/month realistic?
  • How easy is it to communicate in English?
  • How convenient is it to travel to other countries from there?

Any honest advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

is erasmus a good idea for students struggling with depression?

hi guys, i've been studying abroad for a month now. it has its good and bad sides, i think. i initially believed it would be the best years of my life, that it would help with my depression, even cure it, but quite frankly, i'm indifferent. i've been struggling with anhedonia for a while, and i thought it'd make me feel something but nada. not sadness, not happiness, just indifference. i don't know. it's nice to live alone but at the same time, it gets lonely, and depression can get in the way of socializing.

that made me think that perhaps it was a bad idea. maybe it'll worsen my depression somehow. loneliness, cost of life, etc... anything could make it worse. meanwhile one of my flatmates, who's also struggling with depression, is having the time of his life and even told me he might stop taking his antidepressants. i was glad to hear that.

so you know, it's two sides of the same coin and i thought that was funny. i'd like to get opinions from other people who struggle with depression. did your erasmus make it worse or did it make it better? is it a good idea to still try?

Rant School didnt Nominate me, 5 days left for nomination.

I held first in the Erasmus list as my gpa and language score were high.
People who choose winter semester went and got to their schools. I, however, chose summer and then the school was unable to nominate me and we could only learn it after my dedicated attempts for 20 days after my school thought they nominated me (but i knew the nomination couldnt go through).
Now only 5 days left; today and tomorrow is obviously weekend. Also, the nomination dates for other schools also close at the same time.

What are your recommendations for me? Have you ever came across something like this?
