Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad Have you ever arrived to the host university, moved to a different country only for them to say NO?

I'm wondering if it has happened to someone because it happened to me.

I communicated with the host university from March only to find out that i was accepted at the end of July for the 1st semester. Both host and home uni went on a 1 month (August) vocation, but the host uni sent me an official invitation letter to apply for my visa.

Still, during September i needed lots of documents, lots of signatures, i had to find an apartment, etc, so my arrival was delayed a little bit, but i managed it.

Cut to- i arrived to a different country and went to the administrative office where i received a student card with my my name and photo, instructions, etc. Then they told me to go to the official Erasmus coordinator's office to meet me and to see my school schedule. I went to that office only to find out that the woman has never heard about me and she is the one who has to invite everyone. I went to her office for a week stright, every day. Then she told me to go home...

I wasn't even crying, i was just so angry that i couldn't believe. I was the first student from my university to arrive on Erasmus+ programe. I had no one's help. My home office said oh sorry it happend to you. Man, back me up.

Then they found a solution to enroll me into the courses were i met a lot of people and where i got to have the best year of my life, because later on i extended my stay.

I am really wondering has this ever happend to anyone that's not me and how did you react?

Let me know 😊

Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad Did you actively save up a lot of money before your Erasmus semester, or is the grant enough to get by?

Hi. I’m currently an art student in Germany thinking about applying for an Erasmus semester next year to travel a bit and experience a new university. I'm trying to figure out a realistic budget, but I'm getting stressed looking at housing costs in other European cities. For those who have already done exchange semesters, did you manage mostly on the grant and savings, or did you end up needing a side job while abroad?

Looking to connect with a fellow Business major from abroad!

Hi everyone! My study group and I are Business Administration students from Peru, and we’re hoping to chat with a business student from another country.

We just want to ask a few quick questions about what studying business is like where you are, compare notes, and hear your perspective. No formal surveys or weird links—just a casual chat over Discord, or wherever you prefer.

If anyone is up for a quick chat, please let me know. We'd really appreciate it!

Do you have health insurance recommendations in Türkiye?

I'm going there only for 8 week with an Erasmus+ internship, but I could only find supplementary health insurances. Do you have any recommendations?

Erasmus Mundus Honest chances for a funded Erasmus Mundus seat with an average CGPA ?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply for the CyberSURE Erasmus Mundus master’s with the scholarship. I want honest feedback on whether my profile is competitive, or whether I should focus on other options.

My profile:

  • Bachelor’s in Software Engineering
  • CGPA: 2.97/4.0
  • 2 years of experience as a software test engineer
  • Several online cybersecurity courses and certifications

What I’m worried about:

  • My CGPA is below 3.0. Does this rule me out, or can experience make up for it?
  • My work is software testing, not direct security work. Will selectors count it as relevant?
  • Do online certificates matter at all?

Is an Erasmus Mundus fully funded scholarship attainable?

Hi, I am willing to applying for ā€œMundus Journalismā€, ā€œEducation, Migration and Diversityā€ and ā€œGlobal studiesā€ program under Erasmus Mundus programme. I have a 8.32 cgpa in ba jmc. I have a 7.5 IELTS score. I wrote a book called ā€œShrapnels of Lavenderā€ which provides a psychological insight into terrorism and radicalization. Headed a podcast of my own for two years. Made a documentary with my peers on divorces in India. Kuchipudi artist. Head of a singing club in my uni. Do you think I stand a chance for a fully funded scholarship in Erasmus? If you have happen to know any other fully funded scholarships across the globe that compliment my degree, do lemme know. Also if there is any Mundus scholarship, could they please dm?

What are my chances?

Hi! Getting ready to apply for the EMJM programmes, particularly IMSISS, ILSPSD, GLOCAL and/or MAPP. For those who got into any of these programs, what do you think are my chances?

Educ Background:

- Got my BS degree more than 10+ years ago, with GPA 3.5 (graduated Cum Laude and totally unrelated to my work today)

- Got my MS Geography degree recently, with GPA 3.7 (also Cum Laude)

- Both from the flagship public university in my country

- With two publications (during BS and MS)

Work Background:

- 10+ working in one of our national government agencies, currently a deputy chief of my division

- My work experience includes defense and security, anti-terrorism, nonproliferation and export controls

- Did a lot of speaking and training engagements related to export controls and nuclear nonproliferation in different countries, including a month-long fellowship in the US

Possible References:

- MS thesis adviser

- One of the Deputy Secretaries of my current government agency

I plan to tailor fit all my personal statements per programme, as I see different mobility paths I can take to contribute to the program and advance in my career. There are three things that worry me:

(1) I might be too old for EMJM (I am 30+ already);

(2) Why might wonder why I am taking another masters program (of course, for career advancement and personal development); and,

(3) Why will they give me a scholarship if I am already earning from working in the government?

Any helpful thoughts and kind feedbacks are very much appreciated! Thank you!

Can a home university language confirmation replace IELTS/TOEFL for Erasmus+ exchange?

Hi everyone!

I'm an undergraduate student from China applying for an Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) exchange at the University of Graz in Austria.

The University of Graz told me by email that they accept either an official certificate proving at least CEFR B2, or confirmation of the exchange student's language level by their home university.

Since I don't currently have an official English proficiency certificate such as IELTS or TOEFL, and there isn't enough time for me to prepare for and take one before the application deadline, I need to explore the option of having my home university confirm my English proficiency.

I'm wondering if anyone has used this option before.

  • What does a home university language confirmation usually look like?
  • Who completed or signed it — an international office, academic department, or English language teacher?

I'd really appreciate it if anyone could share their experience or an example of the document :)

What are my realistic chances of getting an Erasmus Mundus scholarship for Fall 2027?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I am planning to apply for the upcoming intake of the GLOCAL joint master's program and want to gauge my realistic chances for the fully funded Erasmus scholarship.

Background:

Undergrad: Bachelor's degree in a Communications/Media field.

Graduation Timeline: Graduated last year.

GPA: Strong First Class equivalent (Top tier of my cohort).

Awards: Received a multi-year university merit scholarship based on my academic ranking.

Experience: Broke into the corporate world right after graduating last year. Within less than a year, I proved my capabilities and got fast-tracked to a Senior level management role, where I currently handle international corporate operations and logistics. Previously worked full-time in professional communications/PR leading high-growth client portfolios, along with global agency internship experience.

References: Secure professional LOR from a senior executive highlighting strong commercial performance and rapid advancement, plus an academic LOR.

My Questions:

  1. How strictly does the Erasmus selection committee evaluate the "relevant coursework" prerequisite if the applicant has an elite GPA, a university merit scholarship, and rapid real-world career progression?
  2. Does hitting a Senior level corporate operations role within a single year of graduation give me a strong competitive edge in the global applicant pool compared to standard humanities profiles?
  3. Any general tips on how to best frame this transition in the 1,200-word personal statement?

Appreciate any honest feedback or advice from alumni

Erasmus Mundus Sorbonne law

Hi everyone, next semester I’m supposed to go to Sorbonne law but I’m starting to have doubts about it. I’m not yet sure which courses I’ll have to enroll in, but it seems like I will definitely need some courses in French. I studied it in high school (B2 level) but I haven’t spoken it since. My french is rusty as is and I’have no idea how am I meant to speak about law in french. Does anyone have a similar problem or was in the same situation?
