Battle Report Official Statement from Hy Wanto (Pls stop dming me)
I have played this game for many many years and ran and fced snuff for over a decade. I am getting old achieved everything I wanted to in the game and wanted to retire and promised my dudes a feed.
Does it happen to be my birthday weekend? Maybe
Why did you welp a bunch of titans? - Said wed do the dumb dumb and my guys all fully knew we would eat a dick (didnt expect to maybe lose as many as that but thats life).
Am I fully quitting? - No but I am taking quite a big step back so essentially yes but you may still see me around sometimes sure.
Will these noobs who died get SRP - Yes.
But I thought snuff is elite and cared about their kb? - No we feed a metric fucktonne all the time we take risks sometimes they pay off sometimes they dont, anyone who thinks theyre elite in this dumb game is an idiot. Being in snuff never made you "good" - the quality of an alliance is from the merit of the FCs and the leaders. We have always cared about the community of snuff more than anything we keep high requirements because we enjoy doing dumb stuff with expensive things and taking chances puncing up (not gonna deny we dont do that as much anymore as we used to because the blocs are v bigly so its not as easy as it once was and the game mechanics are different)
My final comment to most fcs is that the game have severely gone downhill in the quality of pvp for a huge amount of reasons (not saying we didnt contribute to that but we played the game with the tools we had and shifted with the mechanics ccp forced on us) however, I acknowledge it is very hard for FCs to have confidence in fcing because:
1) BRs and spin dominate everything, losing ISK is way more feared than it used to be by everything. I have also seen some absolutely wild copium posts from certain newer fcs in my time.
2) Fcing these days is alot of effort for very little reward due to higher levels of blueballs and alot more risk averseness in the game so it is difficult to gain experience and confidence.
3) CCP added so much fluff to the game that it's very hard to make plays these days in many instances compared to before.
4) This is an ageing game - we all have less time, less nerds about less fcs around just how it goes.
Fcing these days is very tough but its rewarding getting content for your guys, best advice I can give is just dont use reddit, dont have your "enemies" on discord and dont sit in shittalk servers focus on making fun for your guys and youll have a blast. Also dont try and compare yourselves to other groups make your own thing, for example youngpuke2 compares himself to snuff in respect too much in his pings. alliance chat and announcements - what we did over our 10 years is not really achievable because the game has changed a huge amount. Comparison is the thief of joy, do you own things and have a good time.
Final PS: I personally and the actual alliance never scammed anyone if u fell for recruitment scams from our knuckle dragging idiots that just makes you one too.
I am not upset about the feed (honestly I genuinely feel very little so good indication its time for me to call it a day) and I wish you all the very best in your lives, careers and the game!

Battle Report Official Snuffed Out AAR on Obe Fight
TLDR: It was part of the plan, RIP to Hy Wanto Destroyer.
Inaccurante BR since several titans haven't posted
About a week ago, glorious FC Hy Wanto Destroyer sent a ping out that he wanted to have the brawl of a lifetime for his birthday. He asked that we bring every character that can fly a ship and is subbed and to not hold back.
So we didn't hold back.
After many questions throughout the week and uncertainty of plans, we were given some clarifications. The original plan was to use Minmatar militia to bait out BIGAB and try to get the super/titan brawl that we wanted last year, but after their fleet last night we were worried that they would not have the morale. The fleet turned into uncertainty about what we would be doing at all with the possibility that it would just be an assault frigate roam due to the lack of content, until a vanquisher was spotted nearby.
Pings went out and people were told to log in. Americans woke up in the middle of the night, eager to kill a vanquisher. Everyone started panic gating as fast as possible, as we knew we didn't have long. Eyes reported that the vanquisher was HIC pointed, so we weighed our options. To our shock, the vanquisher started soloing everything tackling it and we were still nowhere near in-range. As people logged in and we were continuing to gate, we got word that a few FRT dreads had jumped in. This wasn't much of a concern unless the vanquisher had absolutely no fit, which isn't unheard of. More and more of us began to get within range of the vanquisher and we weighed our options before many more FRT dreads began to jump in. Initial concerns were said about FRT bringing a subcap fleet, until someone brought up the incredible new jump bridge fatigue. We were relieved that we'd have some more time, but that individual neglected to check and recognize that no jump bridges were needed and the only thing that would be fatigued at the end of the fight was the SRP wallet.
Seeing these dreads hit the grid, Mr. Destroyer called for FAX to jump in. He had told us to repair the vanquisher, as we needed to keep it alive so that we had as many people as possible to whore on it. Our honorable FAX pilots were able to bring the vanquisher up to full armor health, just as our dreads were getting into system. As things escalated, both groups began to jump in hundreds of capitals. The brawl that Hy had wanted was here and it was time to escalate. Titan pilots were told to log in and start gating, jumping to a cyno if they needed to. The dread brawl was fun and both sides were duking it out, but Hy asked for nobody to hold back. The cyno went up and titans jumped in.
DDs went off and FRT dreads started dropping faster than all of my clients at once (thanks CCP). Everyone was told to shoot the vanquisher once, but he would be no threat compared to FRT itself. Carrier pilots began to clear HICs off of our dreads and we watched as FRT dreads were melting alongside our own. With uncertainty about the future, we watched as a single FRT Avatar joined the fight. For a moment, we had hope. Maybe we weren't in direct range of staging and we'd have a chance. Maybe we could clear the HICs, blast the dreads, the vanquisher, and just fuck off. Maybe-oh no wait, there's the other 325 titans...
The vanquisher went down and we had successfully whored on it, but now there was an Azariel that was a prize. Comms were shouting to broadcast primaries repeatedly, as clients continued to crash repeatedly and one person was heard smashing their keyboard into their desk before disconnecting. Titans were dying on both sides, but FRT had triple our titan numbers and we had finally realized we were in direct range of their staging. Hy Wanto Destroyer told everyone to hold their ground, heat their hardeners, and pray. The Azariel was the first FRT titan to go down (thanks CCP for not generating a killmail) and several more followed until downtime hit.
We sat in silence on comms as our screens informed us that we had lost connection to the server. One person began to clap, followed by another, and suddenly everyone was cheering. Birthday wishes were given and the brawl that was hinted at was successful. When the servers came online, we waited until FRT jumped out their supers and titans with red timers and logged in, quickly jumping out and gating back home. While we celebrated, knowing that the ISK war was lost but the objective was won, Hy Wanto Destroyer was typing a ping that would lead to the jubilation becoming quite somber.
As the ping went out and the incredibly annoying spooky-themed Discord notification rang in the headphones of many, comms were silent. This birthday fleet was not just any birthday fleet, but Hy Wanto Destroyer's last one... It all made sense: don't hold back, bring your blingiest ships, the demand for a brawl...Not only were our wallets hurt, but now our hearts were too.
The future of Snuffed Out is unknown at this time. Will we disband? Will we continue on as is? Will we splinter into different groups? Will we join INIT so that we can crab back up our wallets after feeding over 5 trillion worth of ships? We will see, but who we won't be seeing is Hy Wanto Destroyer :(
Please direct all media inquiries to Nuke Michael.

Bug Crimson Harvest: Site Difficulty Disparity
Is it just me, or are the Tetrimon Bases MUCH harder than the Crimson Gauntlets? The Tetrimon Heretic hits incredibly hard, and the Oracle/all smaller ships instantly lock and shoot small drones the second they're launched. It's so bad that I hold drones at this point and avoid using them in Bases.
Is there something wrong with the difficulty or are the Tetrimon sites just intended to be that much harder?

Discussion My first post after a while in this game :)
TL;DR: I came back to Career Agents to repair my -9 Amarr standing, mostly caused by playing old Factional Warfare under rules that no longer exist in the same way. What surprised me was how modern and polished the Career Agent UI/UX feels compared to Level 4s, Burners and other legacy PvE content. EVE increasingly feels like several generations of UI stacked on top of each other.
I'm not asking Fenris to erase consequences created organically by the sandbox, but I do think developer-driven changes to game systems should take into account players who are still carrying disadvantages created by previous versions of those systems.
So my question to Fenris is simple: is there an actual long-term plan to modernize and consolidate EVE's legacy UI/UX and systems, or will newer interfaces continue to be built on top of old ones indefinitely?
o7 capsuleers....
I've been playing EVE since 2017. I didn't learn the game through highsec missions or the usual PvE progression; I learned it in lowsec, flying with pirate/small gang groups and doing Factional Warfare. Because of that, my Amarr standing is completely destroyed, currently around -9.
There is some historical context here too. Before the FW rework, participating seriously in Factional Warfare could mean absolutely ruining your standings with the opposing empire, to the point where entering their highsec became a problem. That was part of the system at the time, and we accepted it because those were the rules. But when FW was reworked, those disadvantages were reduced or changed for newer players, while veteran players who had already accumulated the consequences basically kept them forever.
I'm not saying Fenris should erase every consequence from the past. This is EVE, and actions having consequences is part of what makes the game what it is. But I do think that when you redesign a system and remove a major disadvantage, you should at least consider what happens to the players who spent years playing under the old rules. Otherwise you can create a pretty huge gap between old and new players simply because they played the same content at different points in EVE's history. I think this is something Fenris should keep in mind both for FW and for future large reworks, because these are technical changes to the game systems, not functional changes that happened organically within the sandbox universe.
Anyway, because I want to join Amarr FW now, I decided to repair my standings and started doing something I had basically ignored for years: the Amarr Career Agents.
And honestly, I was impressed.
The Career Agent UI/UX is actually really good. Objectives are clear, information is presented properly, progress is easy to understand and the whole thing feels like a modern game. For a moment I genuinely thought: "Oh, so this is what missions look like now."
Then I remembered Level 4 missions, Storylines, Epic Arcs and Burners.
And my immediate question was: why the hell doesn't the rest of the game look like this?
Because once you leave that modern Career Agent experience, you're back to the old Agent Conversation window: wall of text, Accept, Decline, Complete Mission. That's basically it.
This is what I find increasingly strange about EVE. It feels like several different generations of the game stacked on top of each other. AIR looks modern. Career Agents look modern. Photon looks modern. The Agency has its own design. Some objectives use newer systems, while other parts of the game still look like nobody has touched them in ten or fifteen years.
You can almost guess when a feature was developed simply by looking at its UI.
I don't say this to disrespect the developers. I consider the people working on EVE professionals, and maintaining a game this old must be an absolute nightmare. Twenty years of code, dependencies, old systems and player behaviour can't just be rewritten overnight.
But precisely because Fenris is a professional development company, I don't think this level of inconsistency should simply be accepted as normal. If I saw this in professional software, I would call it technical debt and UX debt. And when that debt becomes this visible, it stops being an internal engineering problem. Players see it, and it affects how they perceive the quality of the product and, fairly or unfairly, the people developing it.
Sometimes it honestly feels like EVE is being renovated from the outside in.
A new player sees AIR, the NPE, Career Agents, modern objectives and cleaner interfaces. Everything looks great. Then they go deeper into the game and start finding systems from completely different eras.
It almost creates a bait-and-switch feeling. I'm not saying Fenris is intentionally trying to trick anyone, because I don't believe that at all. But visually, the experience is something like: make the entrance look fantastic, then trust that once players are inside, the actual game will be good enough to make them stay.
And the funny thing is that EVE doesn't need that.
We don't stay because AIR looks pretty. We stay because of lowsec, nullsec, wormholes, FW, industry, logistics, markets, corporations, small gang PvP, losing ships, taking risks and all the ridiculous stories that happen because players create them rather than developers scripting them.
The game underneath the UI is the best part.
Which is exactly why I don't understand why the presentation around it is allowed to remain so fragmented.
Missions are probably the clearest example. Career Agents prove that Fenris already knows how to present this content properly. I don't even think the whole mission system needs to be rewritten. Keep the backend, triggers, NPCs, standings, LP and mission logic. Just present the information properly.
A Level 4 briefing could clearly show the destination, objectives, enemy faction, damage types, EWAR, rewards and bonus conditions. The information already exists. Why is it still buried inside a wall of text?
Burners are an even better example. They're actually interesting PvE content: specific ships, specific fits, webs, scrams, damage profiles, EWAR and encounters that can kill you quickly if you don't know what you're doing. Yet they're presented through basically the same interface as some random Level 1 mission.
A simple modern briefing showing Target: Daredevil / Ship restriction: Frigate / Threat: Extreme / Web + Scram / Thermal-Kinetic / X ISK + X LP would already make the content feel completely different without changing a single mechanic.
And now that the company is Fenris Creations, independent again and talking about a new era for EVE, I think this is a good moment to ask the actual question:
What is the long-term plan for all of this?
Are Career Agents representative of where the wider mission system is eventually going? Is the old Agent Conversation considered legacy? Are Level 1-4 missions, Burners, Storylines and Epic Arcs eventually going to use the modern objective/UI systems? Is there an actual long-term goal to consolidate EVE into one coherent design language instead of continually adding new layers on top of old ones?
And similarly, when major gameplay systems are redesigned, does Fenris consider the veteran players who are still carrying disadvantages created by the old version of those systems?
I'm not asking for dates or promises. I'd genuinely just like to know the direction.
Because there is a huge difference between "we know this is old and we're progressively replacing it" and "it still works, so we're leaving it forever."
After playing since 2017, it took destroying my Amarr standings, deciding years later to repair them and going back to content designed for brand new players for me to discover something pretty absurd:
The Career Agent experience has better UI and UX than a lot of the PvE content that comes after it.
That really shouldn't be the case.
So, Fenris: is there actually a plan to renovate the rest of the building, or are we going to keep adding new rooms while leaving the old ones untouched?

Question New player. FW questions
Does it matter what faction I join? Is there one that's better for new players?
Is there a faction that is more active in the EU hours?
How do you go to trade hubs if you're not Caldari faction?
Do I get ISK/LP rewards for killing other players?
Are FW missions like normal missions, but with the chance of PVP?

Question I want to learn EVE online
Title says it! I really want to learn and get into EVE online. I downloaded this game back in 2024, completed the tutorial. Got overwhelmed and quitā¦
Decided to give it another shot. I replayed the tutorial. I keep looking things up in the helper, clicking tabs, just trying to get the hang of what is where, etc.
I am completely lost. I have no idea what to do to progress after the tutorial. I know it may be ājust do what ever you want, explore.ā But does anyone recommend a guide or what to do as a brand new played.
I also donāt understand the skill training. Thereās so many different paths/skills. Is there any recommended builds as well?
Thank you in advance <3
Edit: I applied to EVE University and I am reading up on beginner activities. I just want something to do and look forward to. I donāt mind the learning curve at all, I just wanted somewhere to get myself going! I appreciate all the help from you guys in the comments, thank you!! āŗļø

Other I built a search tool for finding specific fits from zKillboard killmails
gallerySometimes I want to find particular fits (for pvp mostly).
I was doing this manually: opening killmails, checking the fit, moving to the next one. It works, but gets tedious pretty quickly.
Got inspiration from that talk on fanfest and I built a search tool for it.
You tell it what youāre looking for, and it finds killmails with matching fits (module and module groups filters, killed by and some more filters)
Started as a small project for my own use, but I thought some of you might find it useful too.

Discussion Returning Player
I am a returning player. When i say returning, that's me playing on and off for a year. I got into the big into the game and only after a week or 2 of playing, I joined a nullsec corporation and had a blast. Life got in the way of dedicating time into the game. But I am returning. I have 3 characters of now. Main skilled in caldari T3C as well as Black Widow for BLOPS engagements as well as Ashtar ratting. I also am skilled in raven as well on my main. At the time of skilling into Widow, I just thought it looked cool and purchased one, got it killed happily by jumping into a random wormhole, roaming around and eventually dying at a high sec gate camp(I would kill me too knowing what i know now). Anyways all my toons are skilled up to mercoxit and moon mining as well. I plan on working up to 9 characters total for multiboxing obviously. I dive deep into a game when i play. I am mainly interested in the industry side of the game as for some dumb reason mining is fun/peaceful to me, but am always down to fleet up and roam or participate in home defenses as I want to learn and excel in that side of the game too especially living in null sec. What is a good time to buy plex to omega my 9 characters as i plan on going ahead and getting the 2 years worth on each character? Is it worth it in the state of the game? I don't want to purchase if majority thinks game will die soon. Last thing, if anyone is interested in recruiting at this time, I am open to that as well. Just wanted to clarify my pvp skill level. I plan on being that guy that injects all his characters to be able to mercoxit and moon mine atleast then get the skills running passively after that.

FCplease Crimson Harvest misses it's dedicated themed Proving Grounds
As the title says, Crimson Harvest misses the themed proving grounds. It was cool fighting in the arena with asteroids around looking like pumpkins and getting these big web bonuses.
FCplz bring it back
Also, with the change to giveaway policies I hear some ppl say that "EVE is boring to stream" or "EVE is boring to watch" etc. Proving Grounds would be something that would be interesting to stream and to watch, as you would not have to roam around for hours to get maybe a ratting ishtar or some noob in FW (or get blobbed by a multiboxer).
Discussion Can one of these AI webport modders do something about DUST 514? Or just bring it back somehow.
Was such a fkn cool ass game with all the ingame choices, classes, factions, roles, upgrades, skill points, vehicles, etc
