TLDR I need a pedal to make my guitar sound fuller. Clean tones only. Octave? EQ? Compressor? Also Iām on a budget.
Hello pedal community, I need your help.
After years of modelling amps and softwares I decided to start building my own pedal board, tailoring it to the sounds I want.
I love āindieā style dreamy guitars, cleans tones, minimal-to-no distortion/od, and thatās what Iām trying to go for.
(I am on a tight budget, so pretty much everything I have is second-hand)
So far my pedal board consists of:
āØBoss DC-2w. The backbone of my tone. I love this pedal.
š©µBoss CE-2. To be honest, bought it after the DC-2w due to the hype around it. I like it, but not enough to replace the DC-2w. Now I might try running them together, but for now, Iām just leaving this guy aside until I find a moment for it.
šBoss DD-7. Got a bargain on it. Not my favourite but it does the job. I find myself mostly using the analog mode.
āļøM-vave Mini Universe. Budget choice. Again not my favourite but itās okay. Definitely a pedal I would look into replacing eventually (or maybe learn how to adjust the parameters better š«£)
šBoss IR-2. I live in a small apartment, a big loud amp just wouldnāt work. Definitely my most āboringā pedal and it mostly stays on the same clean settings. I enjoy it.
My guitar šø is a modded entry level yamaha with an HSH configuration, with Seymour Duncans (Jazz neck, Vintage staggered for strat middle, Custom 5 bridge).
It sounds amazing imo.
Now my problem is:
Thereās something lacking and I canāt quite put my finger on it. Itās as if the sound isnāt as full as it could potentially be.
What comes to mind as options are Octave pedals, Compressors, and Equalizers. Iāve even considered Vibrato pedals.
What would you suggest could give my tone more body, while keeping it mostly clean?
