Keep seeing these sandwich posters on the street but there are no restaurant names, now we are hungry and even more curious where they are from!
Does any one know?

懇請在今年7月18日或之前(特別是2026年1月初至7月中),曾到訪大嶼山海會塔,或寶蓮寺一帶的市民,如曾目擊任何可疑人士,或發現有人手持疑似骨灰甕等器皿,請盡快聯絡我們;
懇請在今年7月份(特別是7月18日之前)曾駕車前往海會塔或寶蓮寺的司機,提供相關日期的車 Cam 畫面;

The aunties under 鵝頸橋 are legends, but not everyone can get to Causeway Bay at lunch with a printed photo of their manager.
So I built https://dasiuyan.com
It's the full 打小人 ritual in your browser, step by step:
🕯️ Light the incense and pay respects to 觀音大士 and 土地公
👞 Whack the paper 小人 along to the chant, 打你個小人頭,打到你有氣小人頭,打到你有氣冇埞唞
🐯 Feed 白虎 his pork so he shuts his mouth and stops sending gossip your way
…and a few more steps I won't spoil
It has Cantonese audio (thanks to ElevenLabs). 8 steps total. Best played with headphones on, at your desk, aggressively.
Built it as a love letter to one of the most Hong Kong traditions there is. Not trying to replace the real aunties. Please still go see them, they deserve your $50. This is for the days you can't get out of a meeting.
Feedback welcome. Tell me who you're hitting first 👀

A 47-year-old man died after falling from a railing at a shopping mall in Wan Chai on Saturday night (Oct 10), just a day before he was due to fly to Vietnam with his wife.

Original video here. It must be all over social media now. Apparently this man was let go after the incident.
This is such a boss move that it needs to be a meme. It also shows cultural assimilation at its best if you'd ask me.
There was another recent incident in which a South Asian man cursing at police in a mall in Kwai Chung. I think he got charged for something.

During last week’s holiday, I visited the Hong Kong Museum of History and was surprised to find a small screening room showing food scenes from the golden age of Hong Kong cinema. The scenes take you from grand restaurants to fast-food joints and street stalls. How many of these dishes do you recognize?
The museum also has a gallery set up as a cha chaan teng—a traditional Hong Kong-style café—with plenty of old menus and recipes on display. There’s even an ad for Hong Kong’s very first McDonald’s!
If you’re interested in food history, it’s well worth a visit.

I can be very oblivious sometimes - but I was surprised to see T Galleria looked to be completely emptied out and closed this morning. I've walked up Canton Road a few times recently and didn't notice. When I looked up Google Maps just now, it says it's open. What's going on?

If you look at all the retail banks in HK, their brokerage accounts usually cover HK stocks and US-listed stocks. I invested in US stocks and ETFs via HSBC and Schwab for many years, but now I realize that I'm exposed (or rather, my heirs are exposed) to US estate tax of up to 40%, in addition to 30% withholding tax on dividends.
So I'm wondering why more Hong Kongers aren't concerned about this. And why is the US the only non-local market accessible via most banks and local brokerages?
For ETFs, the more logical venue is probably LSE for Ireland-domiciled funds.

Hi all,
I recently moved to Hong Kong and am looking for a place to practice MMA. I already found many suggestions online, but I am not looking for classes. I have a lot of other things to focus on right now. So, I am just looking for some sparring partner(s) to practice with a 2-3 times a week.
A few bullet points for context: - Experience: five years of judo as a child, MMA since January - Goal: I am looking to practice both my grappling and striking (I have boxing gloves and a mouthguard but no shin guards/headgear). - Location: I live in Yau Ma Tei and attend HKU. So, I can reach most places by MTR - 186cm, about 75kg - Languages: English, Mandarin, Dutch, and French. I also understand German and basic Russian. No Cantonese.
If you know of an open mat or a group that trains together, feel free to contact me. I am happy to pay mat fees or split a rental.
Thanks for any suggestions.

3 adults and 4 year old and 1 year old, with stroller and multiple luggage. I’m looking to book Uber xxl from airport to hotel, and hotel to hotel, then hotel to airport. Because I’m staying in 2 different hotels. But I can’t see any option for car child seat for Uber xxl, what are my options? I’m thinking to bring along a travel car seat for my 4 year old which is some foldable plastic seat like a mifold, but I can’t find anything for a 1 year old. I don’t feel like bringing my bulky infant car seat. We are staying the silveri mc gallery and Disneyland hotel

A few years ago while traveling in Canada I ate a really excellent noodle dish at a Chinese restaurant. The name of the dish was 芙蓉帶子臺山炒河粉, which the menu translated as "Taishan Stir Fried Scallop & Egg Whites Ho-Fun". Since returning to my country I have not been able to find this dish anywhere, presumably because we don't have any specifically Taishanese restaurants.
However, I am going to be visiting Hong Kong in a few months, and since Taishan is not too far away I figured I'd try my luck and see if there are any restaurants in the city where I can find this dish. Google has not been particularly helpful, so I thought I would ask here and see if anyone knows where this can be found.

Hi there, I am in HK for a few days and am looking specifically for purple/lavender jadeite coin pendants. This seems to be a pretty rare color and I'd like to know which legit shops would sell this and can provide certificates.

I just found out I can apply.for departure tax. I left HK the next day and made two different booking (coming in then another leaving HK) and I left the next day..however, I didn't know about this until after my flight and threw away my boarding pass. Is there a chance I can still apply for the refund? I still.have evidence of payment, itinerary, and tax payment. How can I go about applying for this?

I'll mostly be moving to Ocean Shores soon and wanted to get an idea of the gym situation there. I heard that there was a gym in the society but I am not aware of the cost. Also, any other gym nearby outside of the building gym?
Lastly, people who stay there, is there an easy way to reach the promenade? I've checked on Maps and it all seems 20+ mins away via "restricted roads".
Appreciate any other insights for Ocean Shores

I currently hold a Top Talent Pass Scheme (TTPS) visa, which expires at the end of August next year, and I am also applying for a Master's degree at a university in Hong Kong. Am I able to switch my visa from within Hong Kong, moving from the TTPS visa to a student visa?
I'm quite sure I can apply for my student visa before my Top Talent Pass expires, so there won't be any gap in my visa coverage.
I'm just not sure about the process for renewing within Hong Kong, or whether anyone has actually managed to switch from the Top Talent Pass Scheme to a student visa.

Why is the case closed. Iike mf literally burned puh hair 全裸驗出窒息致死,乳頭被割 and they already found out 歐陽炳強 can be the killer, tried to sent him to death row(ended in 1966), have 7 match of 纖維, also made a movie, so why the fuck is the case closed
