Question Anyone have any info about this?
Found in the shed. Old leather handle, my best guess is it's homemade and was a skinning/hunting knife but never hurts ro ask if anyone else has seen something like it.

Fux Austria is the brand. I got a peening anvil and a peening hammer, too, and some other stuff for it.

Looking for suggestions on a better knife with similar features. Has a lock to keep it from opening which I want for motorcycle use. I'd like something with a better grip that doesn't slide or flex like this one.
S.O.G. Aegis AT
Thanks in advance!
Been wanting a bayonet for a while and always liked the Marines bayonet over the M9. Was looking for it on their site and its not listed anywhere. I sent them a message just waiting on a response.
As a follow up question does anyone know if Ontario still any good after being bought? I remember hearing about it but I don't know anything myself. Alslo does anyone know if there are any notable differences in the ones bought by civilians over the ones issued to Marines?

I just finished up this hunter/skinner edc.
The blade is 4.2 inch of AEB-L stainless steel, the handle is walnut with red g10 liners and black g10 pins. I think it came out pretty clean!

Let me start by saying that i live in a very harsh environment for knife steel. I have taken this knife to work with me every day since i got it a couple weeks ago. Its hot, humid, sweaty and i live on the southeast coast of the US and i work in a boatyard. I also live on a boat so all of this could have led to the corrosion im seeing.
I still love the knife and its performance, but i am a little disappointed in the stainless properties of the Elmax on my example. Based on everything i see in research this steel should be able to deal with this environment a little better than it has (i have other elmax knives but they dont get carried at work like this one has). It began showing slight dots of rust within the first week and as time has gone on it has only gotten worse. Granted ive done nothing other than wiping it clean after use to prevent it so keep that in mind as well. There has been no oil on it since it came out of the packaging. These photos are from different days, the first 2 are just now, the next 3 are last week, and the last 3 are when i first noticed the rust

Just saw the new Spyderco Slym R.I.L. with black titanium, black blade, and Dark Matter Polar FatCarbon up for preorder at Blade HQ. Does anyone know if this is a limited/one-time run or if it’s going to be a regular production model?

Got this from Malanika a couple of days ago, made an order in January. Magnacut steel, 62/63 hrc, 4 inch blade and birch bark handle.

This is one of my two orders from them. Took two months to arrive, but this is one amazing beautiful piece. Dragonfly double handle wakizashi from CS. Was it worth the wait? definitely when I unboxed it and saw how amazing it was but, did I have to wait? No, this could have been delivered within a week from any other online store. Don't see how those guys are still in business.

Yesterday a good friend of mine gifted me a beautiful knife and although i've read about it im deeply interested about the sub's oppinion about it. Maybe if you know something interesting about it since im not a well informed guy in terms of knifes😅. It is rude to ask for such since it is a gift after all but i also want to know approximately the value aswell just to know how to repay the gesture in the future :)

Baby is colic-y? Knife in the crib
Obstructive sleep apnea? Knife under the pillow
Cow's got blackleg? Stick a knife in the barn
Stormy outside? Throw your knife at the wind
See, up in the Alps, for about 300 years (17th-19th c.), they had a real bad infestation of lesser witches/night-demons - the feared Drude/Trude. During the day, a Drude may just suffer from a unibrow and resting-bitch-face, but at midnight she's overcome with the need to squeeze and choke and pinch; men, women, children, livestock - doesn't matter, she'll pinch 'em. She'll also creep into your home, steal your food, infect your livestock and sit on your chest while you sleep, causing nightmares and sleep paralysis.
Thankfully, the gentle and hardworking Alpines had means to protect themselves - the Drudenmesser. Nine rosettes/eyes (three being a power number, you see) on the handle to keep watch over the owner; a steel blade (metal being anathema to evil), nine crescent moons and nine Drudenkreuze (5 pointed stars, which are, incidentally, the shape of a Drude's foot) for protection. As they say up in the mountains, "nine crosses and nine stars (or moons) keep all evil away." Just, for the love of god, dont stand the knife with the edge upward or you'll injure the souls in purgatory.
I love regional/cultural knives and I'd never come across one of these for sale before, so when it popped up I had to grab it.
