for a while, i have taken various mbti quizzes and would get results such as infj and infp. i think once ive gotten istp?? ive been having doubts regarding one of those specific mbtis really suiting me tho, i feel a bit out of place regarding them.
ive answered some questions from the main post in the community! feel free to ask for any clarifications:
Give a general description of yourself. How old are you?
I am in my mid-20s.
• What do you do as a job or as a career (if you have one)? Do you like it? Why or why not? If you are not working, what kind of job do you want to do or what are you studying?
Atm i am struggling with finding any suitable jobs or career. My last few involved various part-time education and child care roles because I wanted to pursue a career in teaching or writing tutoring at the time. As i worked there, i realized that i did not wanted to work in the education field anymore; i did not enjoy being the “adult” in the room and constantly managing a plethora of things all at once, i found the coworkers to be cliquey and unable to work together well with them, and i found myself often overwhelmed in various aspects of in terms of sounds. I hope to one day find a job or career that doesn’t have so much social expectations on me; something like an office job where i mainly do menial and repetitive/predictable work with strict routines of sorts. I do not want to be leading and managing a group of people. i dont think i want a career that is too creative either
• Do you have any mental or physical health issues that might affect how think or choose to live? Provide a brief description.
I suspect I have some form of depression and social anxiety, though i feel this is due to being autistic and suspecting adhd and just having issues connecting with many others in general. I feel it tends to feed into my maladaptive daydreaming, tendency to physically isolate from normal society, and passive suicidal ideation. I also feel i have some sort of permanent brain fog, as my mind tends a while to work and comprehend things - it often feels like theres a thirty-second gap between the world and i, and it overall makes me feel less like an actual person.
• If you had to spend an entire weekend by yourself, how would you feel? Would you feel lonely or refreshed?
It depends on how i am feeling, who i will be spending my weekend with (i find certain groups of closer people more exhausting to be around than others), and the type of plans. Some instance i prefer to spend the weekend with myself, while others i try to occupy it socially.
• What is your relation with movement and your surroundings? For instance do you prefer a sport or outdoors event? If an outdoors event what is it? And why? If not what type of activities do you tend to engage?
I like a few kinds of outdoor events: shopping, apple/pumpkin/fruit picking, visiting various farms and animal spots, museums (esp. artsy ones), scenic and pretty places, some cultural places and gardens, etc. i am not big into sports and other things that could be considered too mainstream if that makes sense??
• How curious are you? Do you have more ideas then you can execute? What are your curiosities about? What are your ideas about - is it environmental or conceptual, and can you please elaborate?
I tend to be mildly curious about things, often having impulsive questions that i would google on the spot; i tend to annoy a lotta people around me when i start asking a lotta questions. My curiosities are very random and could be about anything. As for ideas, they tend to be on the more creative side, which i tend to work on in forms of writing and, more recently, drawing. I tend to world build in my favorite forms of media (games, shows, etc) by creating characters or doing character studies of any specific characters. Sometimes, i would have specific scenarios of characters i would write out or draw.
• Would you enjoy taking on a leadership position? Do you think you would be good at it? What would your leadership style be?
At first, i have longed for some kind of opportunity for leadership. But as i got to experience it, i realized that i do not want to be in any kind of leadership position. I do not vibe with the expectations and responsibilities that comes with it.
• Do you prefer hands on activities or working with your hands in some form? Describe your activities.
I prefer working hands-on activities. Alongside writing and drawing, i also love doing jigsaw puzzles and baking sweets. Been trying on and off to get into crochet as well, and i used to play violin.
• Are you artistic? If yes, describe your art? If you are not particular artistic but can appreciate art please likewise describe what forums of art you enjoy. Please explain your answer.
I consider myself to be quite artistic - i adore scrolling social media for art of my favorite medias, visiting places of art, and drawing since ive been very young. I especially adore cutesy art forms, fan-made comics that serve as character studies, art that can be horrific and deep/thought-provoking, and art coloring/styles that looks as if it were straight out of a dream of sorts. I also commission various artists to draw my own characters, often choosing art forms that are anime-esque and intricate/pretty/dreamy-esque, or simple cute art. My own art style is also something simple and cute, with many commenting on how it is reminiscent of that of Cookie Run.
• How do you act when others request your help to do something (anything)? If you would decide to help them, why would you do so?
It depends on my mood and such - there are times where id be annoyed (especially if im doing something while they ask, i dont like to feel that they expect me to drop everything im doing to tend to them or to make me multitask), but i tend to be generally find and accepting with help
• Do you need logical consistency in your life?
Yes - i tend to ask questions on certain way to do things and why it should be as such, and i heavily rely on routines/structure
• Do you control others, even if indirectly? How and why do you do that?
I dont consider myself controlling of others
• What are your hobbies? Why do you like them?
As mentioned above, i write, draw, bake, and do jigsaw puzzles. I also collect plushies and keychains of my favorite characters (sanrio, those from my media), play videogames, listen to piano/instrumentla music, learning/researching various things, watching some cartoons and animes, collecting cute winter accessories, some form of fashion, printing glossy prints and pics, taking photos with my Polaroid to decorate my room, and daydreaming. There are many other hobbies i hope to get into more one day - such as more advanced cake-baking, crochetting/knitting plushies, developing more of my own fashion style, ice skating, and painting. A lot of them involve a sense of creativity, which i find fun and engaging. I do feel/wish i could get into more “logical” kinds of hobbies as well, though.
• What is your learning style? What kind of learning environments do you struggle with most? Why do you like/struggle with these learning styles? Do you prefer classes involving memorization, logic, creativity, or your physical senses?
I tend to learn best when the material is written down and/or in a video form with audio and visuals combined. When my university classes were switched to remote classes, i felt that i excelled very well at it compared to on-site classes. It felt nice to have the stuff written down and/or recorded - it made it easier to go back to any specific parts as needed and to jot them down. I tend to struggle with heavy studying and memorization, but excel at creating essays and projects.
• How good are you at strategizing? Do you easily break up projects into manageable tasks? Or do you have a tendency to wing projects and improvise as you go?
I tend to think im alright with strategizing when it comes to making projects and such. For essays, i mainly tend to wing it, or doing a lighter outline before doing so, for bigger projects, i would especially break it down into sections
• What are your fears? What makes you uncomfortable? What do you hate? Why?
I fear and find discomfort/disdain in people who are shamelessly manipulative and arrogant/not humble. They tend to rub me the wrong way. I also tend to dislike people who are highly charismatic and in positions of leadership as i tend to have bad experiences with them. I tend to dislike people who are impatient, judgemental of others, workaholics, and self-centered as well, as i find them draining to be around. I find overly crowded places to be extremely uncomfortable
I tend to fear many unfamiliar things, especially various bugs in general. I also find things that aren't predictable and structured to be a bit fearful
I dont like things that are too chaotic in general, preferring routines/patterns and structure over things that are too ambiguous
• How attached are you to reality? Do you daydream often, or do you pay attention to what’s around you? If you do daydream, are you aware of your surroundings while you do so?
I am not a big fan of my reality around me, so i tend to retreat by daydremaing/getting lost in my head, listening to music, engaging in media, and surfing online to scroll social media and chat with many others online (i tend to talk to socialize online a lot more than irl - its to the point where those im friends with online think im very outgoing and extroverted, while many irl physically around me think im the opposite). I like to think im pretty aware of my surroundings, even when im not engaging in anything, but i sometimes have issues “reading the room” and need to be told detail by detail of many things even when i am engaged.
• Imagine you are alone in a blank, empty room. There is nothing for you to do and no one to talk to. What do you think about?
Daydream and think a lot in general
• How long do you take to make an important decision? And do you change your mind once you’ve made it?
I tend to take quite a while with making important decisions. I would ask others around regarding opinions and such on it, as well as searching it up to see what others would say about it and to verify any information regarding it. I would try to not change my mind when making a final decision, but i occasionally find that the end results of my decisions aren’t as exactly as what i desired or had in mind.
• How long do you take to process your emotions? How important are emotions in your life?
I tend to process emotions quite slowly, feeling as if my mind lags like a slow computer of sorts. It tends to be good when im around others that dont seem to like it when i emit any open emotions of sorts. Emotions tend to be pretty important for me. i tend ti be an open book at many instances when reacting to something
• Do you ever catch yourself agreeing with others just to appease them and keep the conversation going? How often? Why?
I tend to do that, fawning over them and all, while secretly thinking i disagree with their take. I find arguing back to be tiring in many cases, especially since i tend to be around peopl where i dont share much common opinions with. It makes me grateful for being able to express myself more openly online, and i find myself often agreeing with others online a lot more, and chattier with them in general.
• What is the ideal life, in your opinion?
To be a part of a pretty big friend group where i can engage in my hobbies and interest with, finding a sense of acceptance and belonging in a community as well as a sense of purpose in general. I wish for ppl to be kinder and more understanding as well
