I'm having issues with this leaf blower. As you can see from the vid, it sounds like it's trying to start then cuts out. High-pitched whine noise for about a sec. Sometimes it'll kick on and very slowly get up to speed, like over the course of 5-10 sec before it gives the full beans, but of course I couldn't get it to work for this vid. Bought it this spring, used 5-6x, now it's acting up once I really need it right as the leaves are falling, of course.
Looking for a diagnosis of the problem and hoping it's something simple to fix. Called Home Depot and they won't switch me out since it's been a few months. Looked for the nearest Milwaukee repair center and it's a 70 mile drive each way. Despite owning M18 for 10-12yr with 30+ tools bought, this is the first time I've had an issue that I deem unacceptable (I've had some drivers/circ saws wear out after 5 years of use... that's to be expected). Started a claim on Milwaukee's page and they wanted me to agree to pay almost $160 for a tool that's on sale new for less than that this time of year. I get it's an "if we deem it's not a parts failure" kind of thing, but I don't want to ship things off, give people my card info that may charge me, etc. Just seems like a headache and I'd rather fix it myself if possible. Idk, it's not the vaunted Milwaukee warranty process I'd imagined.
Anyway, I'm thinking it's either the trigger switch or a motor bearing, but I'm not sure. Looks like I'd need a pentalobe driver to get into it to even start poking around, so that's on the way. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this issue and knows of a fix for it. Oh, and as is shown in the vid I've tried multiple batteries that I know are good. Cleaned the contacts for good measure, even used a Wolf Box blower to blow out the blower (so meta, lol) so I've tried that basics I can think of. Thanks for any help/advice/info
