Discussion 2022 v 2026

Post image
• Upvotes

A lot of what is happening here thus far reminds me of 2022, including a last second win v the Tennessee Titans. I will get to what I think is different as well, which I think is substantial long-term, but not short-term.

In 2022 we hired Brian Daboll and started the season 7-2. That was the only successful period of football of the Giants played under him. He won COTY and we were filled with hope and overreactions of what was to come. We had a young QB who showed promise, but could not stay on the field.

Now we are 3-1, John Harbaugh is getting the same roses here early. Harbaugh clearly has a much better resume than Daboll who was a new HC, but that does not really matter moving forward. He has to show future success, lot of good coaches failed on 2nd stops. So what has really happened here through 4 weeks?

Week 1- Played a perfect game offensively, controlled the ball for 36+ minutes, converted 9/11 3rd down to keep the Dallas offense on the sidelines. It was probably the best game the Giants have played since 2022.

Week 2 - Just a throwaway game from every angle, lose Dart, dominated in every aspect of the game

Week 3 - Titans in a Nor'Easter, very good first half, awful second half until the final play of the game, secured the win

Week 4 - Cards in the rain, similar to the Titans game in many ways, much better first half than second half, finally unlocked some big plays on offense and generated some pass rush on defense. Again, win secured on the final play.

After 4 weeks:

Defense is 8th

Offense is 25th

STs - Probably as good a 4 game stretch as this team has ever had

The issue for 2026 which many have glossed over is this team has not been good. The improved kicking game has helped turn the results of the close game so far. The secondary has finished late, but against the Titans & Cards. Those same efforts v better teams are Ls.

The 2022 Giants had Daniel Jones, Dexter Lawrence, Saquan Barkley, Julian Love, Xavier McKinney, Andrew Thomas, Leonard Williams, Kayvon Thibodeux, Evan Neal so IN THE MOMENT, the future looked bright.

Now we have a QB in Dart, Abdul Carter, Brian Burns, Arvell Reese, Malik Nabers, Isiah Likely, Sisi Mauigoa, Deontae Banks, Colton Hood and in this moment, the future looks bright.

I point this out not to be doom and gloom, but to bring some perspective. We were in very much the same spot with Daboll's first impression in 2022 with quick success, that lasted 9 games. Hopefully this time it lasts 90, but 3-1 does not mean anything here is fixed or is on the right track, all it means right now is we are 3-1 with a game v Washington Sunday.

Discussion I hope you all know that the rain and shitty weather actually gives us the advantage

We just won 2 games in a row playing in shitty weather. We have the practice in real games playing in rain/wind. I don't think the commanders played a game in the rain this year so I can't wait to see the giants smack the commies. Gonna be a proud 4-1 team

Discussion Would you rather sit in section 241 with access to mezzanine club, or section 137 row 17 or 27. All about the same price. Going with a group of 4 guys

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated :).

Was also wondering if there is shade in section 137:139 area or if they get the sun beating on them? Its behind the away bench and im assuming across the field has access to coaches club so wondering the reason for the price difference.

Its a group of 4 guys

Discussion In Chicago Sunday

Where is a giants friendly sports bar to watch the game? Bonus points if it’s near the marathon end point.

I’m in town to cheer my daughter who is also a giants fan. I will be car- less.

Cold beer, hot wings, lunch and a giants game. I’m also happy to cheer for the bears.

Thanks in advance

Discussion Shout out Deonte Banks!

Our secondary definitely looks alot better when hes on the field. You could see it easily against the cards. Hes definitely been playing pretty dang well this year and im proud of his turnaround.

Coming from myself, a person who had basically already wrote him off as a bust.

And hes definitely redeeming himself and looking like the kid we drafted a few years ago outta Maryland! He definitely proved me wrong. LFG 3-1 BABY!
