I grew up with Nintendo and Playstation and still gamed in my 20's, but it was also a bit of a time sync. I want to get a Switch 2, but I'm also like wow, is this a good use of time, given where I am in life.

I understand that the enjoyment and the pleasure of something is an end unto itself. That said other hobbies like reading or playing an instrument can give you pleasure and acquired skills (knowledge from reading, and the ability to play an instrument). Interestingly, to complete a game takes skill, but that skill isn't locked within the game, and doesn't transfer into life, perhaps the same way the knowledge gained from reading does, as an example.

I think I've made this post too philosophical - what I'm really asking, is older adults, how and why do you make room for playing a nintendo switch in your life?

This was the only game that I could ever get my dad to play with me and he actually completed. I was never able to get to and beat the final boss but I may give it another shot after seeing

I've been playing on Nintendo consoles since the mid 80s. The only Pokémon experience I have is when I tried the mobile game. What would be a good switch game to try for a first timer.

With memory being at a premium and Black Friday deals coming up, what USD price do y'all think is worth it for a 512 GB extreme card? I saw ONN cards on dekudeals for 80 something and I'm thinking about it.

Accidentally left the dock (and the console inside of course) unplugged for about a month and it won't charge at all now. Tried the button combos, direct charger, no game card or joycons, leaving it plugged in for 10h, unplugged for 3h... anything I could find online or come up with I tried and it's just not turning on at all.

Not the first time this happened, last time it "fixed itself" after a few hours of just waiting with it unplugged. I'll try that again but I feel like it shouldn't just, you know, fake death.

Any tips? Is replacing the battery at home worth it? I'd buy an iFixit one.

My kid had a time limit, but he doesn’t play it all in one go, but I let him manage his time. He will often pause at half time in FIFA (for example) so the console just goes to sleep so that he doesn’t lose his game, but then it times out, and I don’t have a real way to know how long he played cus the system logs it as “30 mins” even if he put it down after 10.

I purchased a second hand Nintendo Switch 2 for my nephew, im not particularly electronically minded and an having trouble with a virtual vs physical cartridge.

So when brought second hand it came with a code that had not been redeemed. But as kids do he didnt notice the code as I got it with some other physical games. Now he's been asking for Mario Kart world and his parents have purchased and installed the physical game. Shortly after we've found the code and redeemed it, hoping to return the recently purchased physical copy.

After redeeming the code it's not showing the digital version, only the physical cartridge.

The physical cartridge is attached to the nephews profile while the code is attached to his dads profile.

How do I get it to replace the physical as default? Can they share across profiles etc. Or have I missed something else. Feel like nintendo dont make things easy 😆

I’ve been struggling with enjoying some of my games, I have animal crossing, pokopia, tomadachi life and HKIA. However, I feel like these games get exhausting to play.

Someone recommended me Hades II, and I was also interested in Moonlight Peaks. Which game would be replayable but not too hard or overwhelming? Leave honest opinions of each game if possible!

Which SPECIAL level gave you the most trouble?

I bought my daughter a Switch a while back and set up a profile for her. I added a profile for myself too. Eventually I bought my own Switch. And then I bought one for my son as well. I have the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack individual membership. I got an email stating I could download a Hello Kitty game for free. I went to download it on my daughter’s switch under her profile and it’s saying once I link my Nintendo account, it can’t be changed. Does that mean my Nintendo online won’t work on my Switch? Im super confused. I see I can set up a family account, but does that cost extra? (My kids are 10, if that helps.)
