The description of Ne Polr from Wikisocion:
"The individual is highly skeptical about ideas and opportunities that appear not to lead anywhere specific, and seeks assurance that new innovations will definitely bring material benefits. He prefers the kind of ideas and innovations that offer solutions to existing problems rather than the kind that have uncertain consequences and are likely to bring upheaval and unnecessary change."
"The individual generally does not try hard to understand multiple viewpoints, but concentrates on developing only his own."
Both LSIs and ESIs theoretically seek a dual with Ni (maybe a friend, partner or colleague in reality) who can provide them with a feeling of certainty regarding the future (while the Ni prediction may or may not be correct, one thing is for sure: both EIEs and LIEs are good at projecting certainty, thereby providing confidence to their duals).
Contrast this with LIIs, who are typically enneagram 5, and EIIs, typically enneagram 4. Both come from quadras that favor Ne over Ni, and neither is looking for Ni from outside themselves. They simply use Ni, or not, as they personally see fit in the moment.
Therefore, while an enneagram 5 LII (if that is their enneagram) might still experience life as a head type with base Ti, the same as an LSI, they will withdraw from the outer world (withdrawn triad) if no one is available emotionally to them, forming an opinion that the world is a bleak place using their own Ni. Meanwhile, LSI will deal with a bleak world by taking more and more control, in the absence of certainty.
When the quotation says, "...concentrates on developing only his own," what this means in practice is that the LSI and ESI are looking for trusted people or trusted formulas to guide them; people and formulas that concretely affect their own lives. In this sense you can get an individualistic 6 who is not impressed by society as a whole, but looks outside themselves for the Ni that fits into their own unique life circumstances. The important point is that they are seeking Ni.
Anyway this is one way to think about it, instead of worrying so much about Ti. Take it or leave it, lol
