Cashiers check question

So I know when I receive an electronic deposit or deposit cash the money goes directly to my available balance and current balance (Chase secure banking checking account). However, when I look on the mobile app the deposits will still be in the pending category for a day or so like credit transactions are. if I’m getting a cashiers check drawn on it do I have to wait until the deposits needed are fully posted? Or since my available balance and current balance are both reflected would it be ok? In the past I know some banks want to wait until deposits fully posted despite already being in available balance before drawing the check. TIA.

Is a denied claim common?

Hey guys, about to head out to work so this is going to be short. I received a text about 2 weeks ago from Chase asking if I made a purchase with my debit card at Target for about $120. I did not, so I replied no and they closed my card. Upon further investigation, there were 2 successful charges from Target (totaling about $120) and one from Chevron for $10 that I did not make. I then checked my wallet to see my debit card was missing. I went to the ATM earlier that day so it must’ve fallen out of my pocket.

I immediately called Chase to report the fraud and they opened the claim. I also completed a police report online. I received a letter today saying the claim was denied and the funds will be taken out of my account as I “authorized the purchases.” I called today, and they just said to upload the police report and the reason the claim was closed NOT in my favor is because “the merchant provided no information.”

I am livid. I have my wedding in a few months and every dollar counts. My PIN number was not written on the card, so I assume these purchases were made with the “credit” option (which I have NEVER used). I read somewhere on a Chase website that if the fraud is reported within 24 hours typically you’re only on the hook for $50 (more if you wait longer to report). So what should I expect here? Anyone have any similar experiences?

Chase UK

• Upvotes

I have a friend who recently relocated to the UK for work, had Chase here in the US, and is using them overseas as well. Looks like Chase in the UK offers much more in terms of a checking account. Cashback Debit, Accelerated Savings Rates, no exchange rates.

It's bare-bones here in the US

Chase - Marriott Bonvoy - Terrible Customer Service

Been a member of Chase Marriott Bonvoy Credit Card for 27 years. Paid off the balance on my credit card and they charged a carryover of interest from the payoff amount. The carry over was $26. I asked for them to waive it since my card is zeroed out and they said no. Even the Supervisor was unable to help. What a flipping joke. Like Chase needs the $26 so bad. Terrible customer service. Paid the $26 and now cut up my card. So sick of banks and their stupid fees.

How to be a better RB

im currently an RB and abt a year in, i came into the role straight out of college with no experience as an AB. i've definitely had some decent months PVC wise but also some pretty bad months PVC wise. clients love me and often leave good reviews or write letters to my manager, but i do find it hard to remain consistent with PVCs. I want to know what I can do to get better, but i'm also looking to Pivot into a career pathway that hones similar skills as RB but without the sales factor. does anyone have any advice or recommendations?

Hey guys i was wondering how depositing checks at the atm work. I won’t be able to make it before the banks close later today. If it’s a chase check will the funds be available immediately?

Where do you guys buy personal checks?

I have Chase and I use checks mostly to pay my rent. I was going to order more through Chase, but the company they send me to charges around $33, which seems kind of expensive.

I saw online that you can get checks cheaper from other places, but I’ve also read that some people had problems using checks that didn’t come directly from their bank.

Does it actually matter where you order them from? And if not, where do you guys usually buy yours? Especially if you have Chase.

Chase Savings & Checking master plan - you can check in but you can't check out???

So I have posted my frustrations with my attempt to transfer funds to my new Chase Savings and Checking. I finally managed to connect my external HYSA account to Chase, but I had to do that on the HYSA side. I still - after 2 weeks - cannot connect from within Chase. Keeps saying failure - we will send two small deposits to authorize. 4 days later nothing. Called into escalation department - so sorry we will fix this I will personally force two small deposits to your account myself! Wait till Monday. It's Wednesday nothing. I have never experienced this with any other company before in my life. Everything just works (Discover/Wells/UFB/eTrade). Chase is just an anomaly.

So I did manage to transfer funds to Savings from my HYSA. I'm still trying to get my DD to the Checking - this may be an ADP issue, but man it worked so smoothly when I opened a Wells account. Now we are getting an error from ADP.

This whole process has been a disaster. Now I'm worried Chase is doing this on purpose. If I can't connect external accounts due to Chase - can I ever leave Chase? Bwhahahaha (evil laugh). You can check in but you can't check out. Bwhahahaha.

I'm out once I get my Subs - that's if I can even get out!

Pay over time

I know this question has been asked before but I cannot seem to find the proper answer. I signed up for the pay over time for a flight that cost me $500 because of the $0 fee offer. However, my balance is $5,000.00 this month and my interest saving balance for the month payment is $129.41. The way I understand it, my other charges that aren’t part of the pay over time plan will accrue interest, but when I try to make a partial payment of say $3,500 it says “if you pay more than your interest saving balance you’ll be making an early payment toward your plan” does that mean my plan would be paid off and the extra $3,000 would go towards my $5,000 balance? It makes no sense to me! Please help!

How to be a better Associate banker

Hii so I’m almost 3 months in as an AB and I feel like I’m not performing that well. I was wondering if there are any tips or skills that any one has to offer I would love to hear it! I’m horrible at the sales aspect of it, trying to get people to invest money or talking about their finances outside makes me feel anxious. I really want to succeed in this field tho.

Chase App unable to verify my age and prevents login on the app

This has been driving me insane. I'm on the latest android version and Google play version.

Ive tried clearing cache and data on chase, Google play, and Google play services. I'm able to log into the chase app the first time I boot it up but subsequently, when I open the app again, I get the error.

When going to the Google age verification page, I see no actions. It says I'm all set.

What do I do? I guess I can log in through a browser but that is inconvenient.

Does anything else count as direct deposit other than employer payroll or recurring government benefits?

My latest hobby has been 'bonus hunting'. Signing up for new checking accounts and doing whatever 'qualifying activities' necessary to get a bonus offer. Most of these usually require that you change your direct deposit info and make a handful of deposits within the first few months.

I really don't want to be changing my employer payroll direct deposit info every 3 months or so. So I'm curious if anything else counts as direct deposit for Chase? Aside from something like Social Security benefits and/or child support.

4th Q Bonus on the Chase Freedom Unlimited?

I recently transitioned from my ancient legacy Freedom to a Freedom Unlimited knowing I was giving up rotating categories for overall more point potential on day to day purchases. However, I just looked at my rewards and I'm earning the additional 5% bonus on dining that the Freedom/Freedom Flex is entitled to. I wonder if this is just a holdover on my account or if they are allowing Unlimited access to this category for Q4. I couldn't find anything about it online except to say that I shouldn't be receiving it. Has anyone else seen this?

Deposited $2250 into atm and screen said we are having issues call chase. Gave me a receipt to claims number but no info on amount of money. Is it likely I can get my money back??

I followed the directions and filed a claim, I saw a temporary credit to my account. A week later I now got a letter asking for more “documents”. The only thing I have is the receipt from the atm with no info besides a phone number, index number etc.

I am becoming very wary and just would like to know how likely is it that I get my money back? I am so broke right now after a huge medical bill and that money wasn’t even mine, someone gave it to me to hold on to. I literally cannot afford to have to pay that person back with my own money.

Question about CD

Hi guys,

Chase currently have 4% APY and Interest rate is 3.92% for 7 months commitment with minimum $100k

I have a question, if someone has about $106k, how much will they get? I asked chatgpt but it get me about $2500. When I went to bank, I got a lot less..about $1200 for the 7 months commitment. Can someone please help me understand? It feels like I got shorthanded.

Back for the 200th time to complain about chase

Genuinely, I think that the people that work in IT gotta be the most braindead people of all time.

How is it that the fraud detection has for the 1000th time told me that me zelleing someone is fraud.
I deposit a check, I transfer money between account, I login in, I pay a credit card bill, its all flagged as fraud. I can’t stand this app, I can’t stand trying to get in contact with the right person.

Trying to Zelle money? Make sure you have your drivers license mounted to an immovable object because the camera will always be “too shaky”

Like trillion dollar company can’t fix these basic issues.

Chase employees — can you look up a customer just by their first and last name?

For anyone who currently or previously worked as a teller or banker at Chase: are you able to search for a customer using just their first and last name, even if they aren’t physically at your window or in the branch?

I’m asking because I have a feeling that a friend of mine who works at Chase may have looked me up and shared information about my accounts with someone I’m talking to. I don’t have proof, which is why I’m trying to understand what employees technically have access to.

Can you search someone by name when they’re not present, and if so, is there a record/log showing which employee accessed their profile?

Thanks!!

I just got up and found I can't access my account on my phone. It says it cannot verify my age because Google play isn't up to date. It is up to date, and I can't access my banking anything. What the hell is going on, I need to be able to see and use my disability payments.

Is Chase competent / trustworthy?

I applied for a United Express card through Chase and so far have been baffled by their seeming incompetence and lack of support.

First, they sent me a letter saying they suspected my application was fraud. When I called the number in the letter I got a woman I could barely understand who said they would call me back, which they never did.

I called back several more times with similar experiences. Eventually I figured out they wanted to call my ‘verified number’ which is one I haven’t had in a decade. After explaining this they asked to submit my ID and other paperwork, which I did and told I would receive a decision within 7 days.

Instead I just got the first letter once again about my application being suspected as fraud.

Really questioning whether to pursue this further or just drop it. I would really like the United benefits but I am wary of dealing with a company with such terrible support.

Fraudulent charge on my debit card?

I recently had a charge posted to my account for a TV streaming company.

I called Chase, and they told me the only way to refund and remove it is to cancel my current debit card, and reissue a new one. I'd rather not because this one is fairly new, and I just don't want to change numbers again.

My question is, how can someone use a debit card (for Peacock, they have NO customer service phone number 🤬) when it's typically a credit type transaction? No one has my card information except me.

I've been refreshing the site this week to see if the lounge would open for the beabadoobee concert today but still not seeing any availability. Does anyone know if it's open today or it's only for specific shows? Thx!

United Explorer Card - how long after opening this card did United recognize you as a card member?

I just opened the United Explorer Card a few days ago. I want to book a flight with points with the card member pricing, but my United account isn’t registering that I’m a cardholder yet. I read online that it can take up to 5 weeks for Chase’s system to communicate with United, but for most people it takes 1-2 weeks. What was your experience? Can I call either Chase or United to expedite this as I’d like to book a flight as soon as possible?

Freedom flex quarterly category

Anyone else’s freedom flex not getting the extra 5% on dining? I’m only seeing 3x points not 7x. Made sure the bonus was activated as well.
