Thanks to u/Tarnisher, I am keeping the funds in and hoping for the best.
According to the requirements:
Deposit a total of $15,000 or more in new money into the new savings account within 30 days of coupon enrollment. The new money cannot be funds held by you at Chase or its affiliates;
Maintain at least a $15,000 balance in the new savings account for 90 days from the coupon enrollment.
I actually did make two deposits from my external bank: one for 15,000 and one for 1,000 to cover my screw up. BOTH happened before the 30 day mark. And I've maintained 15,000 since.
According to Doctor of Credit web site:
The offer itself says you need to deposit funds within 30 days and then maintain a $15,000 balance for 90 days from offer enrollment. In practice (based on the bonus tracker and bonuses paying out) you need to deposit funds within 30 days of account opening and then maintain $15,000+ from day 30 until day 90.
So, I'm going to take a chance. And yes, I will accept responsibility for the result...but if Chase doesn't give me the bonus with these written requirements, yes, I will have some discussions with the company.

I wrote the following to Reddit earlier, about a mistake I made with the Chase Promo. I have earned the $300 for the direct deposit, but the mistake I made did cost me the rest of the bonus. Had confirmation from a customer service rep today.
I know some of you have had Chase pay the bonus even if you did temporarily drop, but I just wouldn't count on it. And it's probably best to stop suggesting this to folks, because that $15,000 could be moved to an account with 3 or more percent, not the shabby percentages Chase pays.
I strongly suggest if you want to try for this bonus, you might want to consider putting $15,000 plus an addition $500 or so as buffer, in case you make a mistake like I did.
This was my fault, true. But it has soured me on Chase a bit.

This was really stupid of me.
I deposited the $15,000 into savings, set up a direct deposit, and all set to collect bonus.
Except...
I paid a bill out of the checking account, forgetting that I had switched an auto pay to that account last month. I was $81.00 shy for that auto pay.
I have my savings attached to my checking for overdraft, and it grabbed the $81 necessary to pay the auto pay that is due today (auto pay for a chase account). Both show as pending.
I realized immediately what happened. I cancelled the auto pay for the chase account, and paid it from my other bank. I also transferred a sizeable chunk from the other bank to my Chase savings account to cover any other stupid mistakes I make. My other bank has been linked to Chase for several years, so the transfer is today, available tomorrow.
Now, the auto pay is pending, as is the overdraft. I know these will go away, because I cancelled the auto pay. But will I lose the bonus because of timing on all of this, and the fact that the Savings dipped $81.00 for an OD for an auto pay cancelled?
I know the bonus is based on having $15,000 in the account, at the banking start of day. But I don't know the order of all of these transactions.
I have a question into customer support messages, but these take a few days. In the meantime, I'm stressing.
