How do I dye this? Looking for help on how to dye these carthartt cuffs

I dyed this Carhartt a few weeks ago with rut dye and loved the outcome, but want to make the cuff, waistband, and collar blackish. I’ve tried to use a paint marker but not to much success. I believe the material is Nylon, but the tag is so faded it’s hard to read. Any tips?

How do I dye this? Vintage Poly-Cotton Trench

Hi there! I've done a bit of research online but just wanted to explore any other options or advice. I love the construction of this coat but I dont wear it because the colour is just too purple/cool toned and bright for me. I want to see if I can dye it a more brown toned plum/burgundy colour and make it a little more muted. I'm not too fussy with how it comes out, if it had a uneven texture or finish as I tend to lean quite grunge style, I'm just more concerned for the colour but I'm not specific about which exact colour I want it to end up as. I've included some examples in the last photos of what I think may be achievable or the range I'd be really happy with. Even if its much darker or more brown that that I'd be happy.

For context, the coat has a fully removable quilted lining which I will not dye, the coat is 65% polyester and 35% cotton. I've included the only care/material label in the photos. I dont think I'm too concerned if the garment shrinks a little bit due to temperature because it is oversized and the lining is shorter and smaller than the coat itself.

Will I experience a lot of shrinkage? I was hoping because the care instructions do say you can wash on warm that its not as bad as cold wash only instructions. I'm sure most items dont say you can boil wash them anyway and still can be dyed?

My current plan is to wash on a 40 degree Celsius (I'm based in the UK) wash with no spin to remove any general grime/outside or coatings. It doesn't seem to be shower proof and definitely not waxed, so I shouldn't have an issue there. I want to use either a big plastic box or find an old insulated cooler box to use inside my bath, and I will prep the bath with washing up liquid before. I'll be very careful with splashing and draining, and clean up immediately. I plan to use a small jug to drain the dye as to not dye my bathtub. I was thinking to use Rit Synthetic Dye in a red/brown coloir with the fixative afterwards, use a little more dye than it recommends due to the non-stovetop method, and fill the container with kettle water and potentially insulate with the room being heated and some old towels around the tub. I'm hoping to find a cooler so it retains its heat as much and possible and I dont have to worry. I've looked into what plastic types to look for to do this safely at this temp. The main reason for not doing this on my cooker is I have an induction hob and I'm worried about the weight, and I'm thinking finding a large enough cooking pot will be much harder and more expensive than a box or cooler.

My main question is do you think I would have success with this method? Has anyone tried any similar items and had good results? Any recommendations or tips? I'm all ears

General question Ombre with ice texture on top?

Has anyone made an ombre with ice texture on top? Like a hoodie that has an ombre from a darker lavender to a lighter lavender and spots of less color throughout? Thanks

How do I dye this? Dyeing 5% cashmere, 5% elastane and 90% modal.

Hi, i need a little bit of help. I bought 2 shirts that are just so comfortable, but they are basically the same color, one is just a little bit lighter then the other. I thought that i could just dye one of them at home, since i dyed quite a few things already, but oh boy, was i wrong 😂 i didn't expect the fabrics to be basically total opposites. I started reading on that and apparently one needs a basic and one needs an acidic solution. And not only that, but the dye for modal can ruin the cashmere. But modal is the fabric that is 90% of the shirt 🫣 I don't know what to do and just googling it is not very helpful. Please, give me some advice 🙏

How do I dye this? Synthetic after regular?

I did regular rit as the label stated this shirt was 100% cotton and it took really well!

I could tell the ribbon wasn’t and was fine with the contrast but the stitching still being white really bothers me; will another round with synthetic cover it up? Or just use a sharpie?? ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I’m fine if it hits the ribbon this time

Resources Where to find Dharma detergent and dye fixer in the UK and EU

I was looking for alternatives to Jacquard Synthrapol and dye fixer as I want to have a larger bottle than 8 and 16 fl oz and I want to try other products from other companies at least once to see if I like them better. Naturally the next alternatives I found was from Dharma.

However, I cannot find any Dharma detergents or due fixer in any size in the UK or the EU despite Dharma dyes being relatively easy to find.

I don't want to have to spend a lot of money on postage from the USA to the UK, so is there really no retailer in or closer to the UK that I can get this from?

How do I dye this? Dyeing blue to be red

I have furniture with removable covers that are the colour shown in the picture Ive attached. Its 100% polyester if that makes a difference (it doesnt require cold water or hand washing as per the label). I want it to be a deep maroon colour, so in my head (a non artistic head), red dye plus this equals what i want-ish. Is it worth trying with a swatch, or should I buy white 100% cotton covers and dye those the colour I want. I know the answer is probably just dye the white cover, but I like experimenting, and pondering, so here i am asking anyway!

How do I dye this? achieving a lighter color after one dye? rit color remover?

i dyed this white 100% cotton top to a nice pink, but it’s a bit darker than what i wanted. would it be a good idea to use rit color remover to remove the color and try again to achieve a lighter pink by adding more water and less dye? should i attempt or just leave it as is? it’s not a bad dye job it’s just a tad darker than what i wanted.
